I can confirm that Corpse explosion will multiply the explosion damage by the number of times you cast it on a single target was wondering why my explosion was doing extra damage sometimes and now it all makes sense.

Use case for Endless Agony: Discard decks. Especially Acrobatics and Prepared are great with it because they can cause you to draw another endless Agony which you can promptly discard. The trick is to discard them early so you can set up your powers and everything so that later when you draw Endless Agony you can just spam it at your opponent's face for free damage. Really useful with relics like Shuriken, Kunai, and especially Wrist Blade. Not saying it's 5/5, still like a 1 or 2 even in the right deck, but it has its uses. Edit: Oh yeah, Nightmare with Endless Agony also sounds pretty good. Nightmare into 6 Endless Agonies next turn? Sounds kinda cool.

With crippling cloud the way I figure it is if the weakness is saving you more total health then playing a defend it is going to be worth it. Think about whether you would rather have dagger throw + defend or crippling cloud in any 3+ enemy encounter. For a specific example turn 1 in the gremlin elite on floor 2 when they are all attacking for 30+ total the weakness is going to be saving you more than any blocking card you are likely to have.

I always saw Dash as a hand curved toward the Silent, and their katan handle or something made it into the picture. I can't even see what he's describing with the torso and pants thing.

If I could change anything about ascension play, I would make the starting deck smaller, and let you draft 2 cards from a choice of ten random or something. So many cards are pretty much a dice roll to take even when you understand them very well.

Could Nightmare work to generate 6 copies of Endless Agony, dealing 24 damage plus Strength X 6, maybe pairing up with Thousands Cuts, Exhaust relics, or Card Play relics for a ridiculous output

Just think of endless agony as when you draw it it's 8 damage for 0 which is totally fine, it even exhausts so it doesn't clog your deck late game! Compared to a card like Slice it's just a straight upgrade. Hell even take sneaky strike which is not a very good card that you kinda liked which in best case scenarios does 10 for 0, this is almost as good and works 100% of the time. Also pretty much everything you said about noxious applies to crippling cloud as well.

Just treat endless agony as a 4*2 zero cost card. The additional effect is basically useless.

So when the new char comes out hes coming back. i.e. he will be back in about 3 months to a year

Endless agony is great discard fodder

Nightmare is dope dude, gives you stuff you don't otherwise have in boss fights, and a lot of bossfights do give you a little breathing room. Really good with well laid plans, a lot worse without.

Endless Agony is discard fodder basically cause it gets better as you cycle it through your deck.

The thing with grand finale is you literally need to take prepared, backflips, acrobatics, etc. Runic pyramid makes grand finale a must pick. Ylu can just hold on to it and play whatever cards you need until you have 10 in hand. Then you play what you need to discard and draw. Say one turn you have 6 in hand and 6 on your draw. Next turn you have 10 in hand and two in your draw pile. You play grand finale to get that 50 aoe FOR FREE. the reason why you take every card draw card is so you can draw perfectly what you need. Abd if you hands is full, the card you play opens a spot for draw always remember. Its good

Nightmare on blade dance+ with 2 upgraded Thousand Cuts won me a run. Kinda perfect circumstance though.

these are the only STS card rating videos I've seen, so idk how the Ironclad video went, but I'm curious how NL rates Dash vs Iron Wave considering unupgraded Dash is just 2 Iron Waves, and upgraded 2 Iron Waves are actually better than an upgraded Dash plus it's a common.

Yo man. I watched so many of the vids for this game and bought it. I love chess and once i finally made the connection of the ahead turn game, i finally rocked it. The innate draw and discard helps you when the 2 or 3 energy card depends on discarding a card. I had 10 energy, with 2 corpse explosions and a heavy blade with the do 2 times card x 2. The card that lets you take a card from the discard into your hand and the card that lets you take a card from your hand to the top, or even from discard to top of pile, oh my gawd. If you have a strength game zero cost shivs become 10 or more damage. So if you have upgraded shiv's and 2 or more with accuracy, and the add 6 damage for attack?? 66 damage for a zero cost attack? i tore up the 2nd floor boss after i had mass poison on him. i had 3 rounds with him before i killed him. All due to watching your vids.

NL, you should at least beat the heart on A20 with every character!

Use finisher in a skart or what ever deck easy easy 40 damage with a 2 card combo using only 2 energy could be more if you built around it

Northern lion rated dash (10 damage, 10 block for 2 energy) and Cloak and Dagger (6 block and 4 damage for 1 energy) well but doesn’t like iron wave (7 block and 7 damage for 1 energy)? I know they are different classes, but I don’t see how iron wave is anything other than great.

So sad Nl never made a Grand Finale run work these are my favorite runs I've ever done it's so satisfying and galaxy brain but boy does it feel good to have a deck that plays 2 Grands finale every turn almost guaranteed (which I have built twice once on a20 once on a15)

Your series was fantastic NL. The only thing that prevented me from buying this game, was the art style. Now I don't mean to say it looks bad, but it just doesn't click with me. If they somehow improved the art style, I would love the heck out of it man.

They should rename reflex to "brick" or "do not take". Giving reflex a 1 is insulting to every other 1 score cards - i'd rather have a strike.

This rating system feels pretty garbage. But having you go over every card and explain your experiences with them was just what i was looking for, so it was worth all the time watching these. Cheers!

Concentrate + Acrobatics/Expertise(or Eviscerate) combo is still a mystery to Egg, after over 500 episodes and numerous games played off camera.

44:55 Yah, grand finale is poo poo. You can't draw too few or too much from the draw pile. Drew 4 cars and 1 was grand finale? Too bad we're re-shuffling the deck, now it's useless. You'd need a set up and to draw discard cards in JUST the right order to ensure you draw grand finale in your final 5 cards of the deck; and of course you'd need to make sure you only have 5 cards left. And what if you just draw it turn 1? It's a waste of space for 1 deck rotation then. Too much work. Bad card is bad.

Setup is a negative 100

I love Setup...get a setup and some heavy cards like Eviscerate or Bullet Time with draw cards, and it's awesome. You're basically reducing the price of a high cost card to 0, and there's no need to play it as soon as you draw it as it stays at 0 until it's used. Setup's a 4 for me.

I knew coming into this it would be entirely for the sake of watching and being annoyed. Endless Agony is 8/12 damage for 0 energy. There you go. You don't have to galaxy brain this card to use it. The fact that the Silent has a lot of cards that benefit from playing multiple cards makes it that much better. The fact he thinks Envemon is a good card, let alone fitting in every deck, blows my mind. Unless I have Riddle with Holes or Sneko Skull I wouldn't give it the time of day. And the use case for Nightmare is to give you scaling. It's an elite/boss killing card. Triple up on a Footwork, Wraith Form, or After Image and become insanely hard to kill. Triple up on Noxious Fumes or Caltrops, sit back and watch the enemy die. Nightmare a Catalyst+, and the enemy dies next turn. Nightmare does desperately need its upgrade to use it reasonably though.
