About this game:
Become a giant walking dice and battle to the end of an ever-changing dungeon! Can you escape the cruel whims of Lady Luck?

I was waiting for the egg to realise what a mistake he'd made saving Plasma Cannot with no countdowns. Then he pulls the boss which requires you to use a 40 dice countdown. Egg luck.

Will probably end before episode 20. This gives me crazy strong Flinthook vibes stylistically, musically, and progression-wise. And we all know how that game fared.

to be fair the game's actual progression seems really tedious - the other 'episodes' are just a bunch of annoying challenge runs rather than gradually harder vanilla runs - so I could see the series ending pretty quickly

Aishiteru Yo Yup, this game is pretty disappointing. There’s been a lot of false advertising, claiming it’s an endlessly replayable rogue-like. In reality there’s so little gear for each class that runs end up really samey. It’s such a let down because the concept was so cool, if they just added more gear then the game would be incredible, instead of a game that’s fun at first but you get bored of after a week or two and exhaust the types of runs you could have.

I mean, post flamethrower he would have been consistently putting out a max of 9 damage a turn (with all his dice being able to be concentrated into there), vs a max of 6 with shock. Admittedly, the hammer would have been somewhat more likely to get it's maximum damage, but it's not super cut and dry.

@@iiquailconsumer5248 Monara is right. A square is just a rectangle that has the base equal to its height. All that it is needed for a rectangle is four sides and four straight angles, and a square fulfills that description.

nl takes bump and not spanner, when spanner is a garuntee'd 6 for hammer when bump requires a 5, tisk tisk.

@@UM96lol 5+1 is a 6 with spanner but a 6/1 or 5/2 with bump, the difference is there is no difference with flamethrower because you'd want the highest numbers possible so spanner is still best especially when you have 4 or 5 dice cause you'd get rid of your lowest or highest dice depending on your equipment, in NLS case, with the hammer you'd want to get rid of your lowest cause a six is the best outcome. This game is hard math so nl is going to flounder a bit I feel once he gets on a episode that isnt.. well, easy mode.

He has a point though. If you use all your dice for damage anyways, it doesn't really matter what values are in flamethrower. Better to put a 6 in Hammer than it is to put it in flamethrower, since it satisfies a conditional effect.

Inventor is busted, with Flamethrower and her focus I was able to do 45 damage to the boss turn 1 on top of burning all her dice and then kill her the next turn

I had a run with inventor where I saved 2 crystal swords all the way to the end just so I could sacrifice one to make a fury gadget and then fury'd the other crystal sword, and I ended the battle in 2 turns bc I had some other good equipment I can't remember lol

Hey NL, suggestion: slap your face in the bottom right of the screen instead of the bottom left. The only thing you'll cover is the "end turn" button but we get to see the glorious character sprites! Love the series btw.

I had this run with two upgraded flamethrowers, epic and stupid. Plus the boss was awesome when I realized it was the dragon and had to kill him with hammer+

The inventor is probably my least favorite character in the entire game. Where every other character feels like over time you are getting stronger the inventor just never gets her footing due to always sacrificing gadgets, and while those gadgets are powerful in the early game by time you get to the final floor and the boss they become more of a detriment then a boon as you can never really make a good synergistic combinations due to breaking your stuff all the time.

I'm enjoying this series but I'm terrified of watching it too long. We could lose him down another 600 episode rabbit hole and be down 30-45 minutes of content a week again. To quote dan, sometimes he just gets lost in the sauce.

I really don't enjoy playing as the Inventor either. Like NL said, you can't really build a run, as you can't reliably preserve more than two pieces of equipment. She's not necessarily hard, but her playstyle seems to really work against what makes these games fun Anyone perhaps have any tips or perspective that could make her click with me more?
