For this Bivy Camp I head up through a forest to a hill/vantage point, to be able to look across, to the Crags where I had previous Bivy Camps, Where I am able see the scale of the Crags.
I caught glorious weather, including a sunset,
It was also very cold, I woke to a thick frost, But more glorious sunshine.

Perfect as always,you manage to show a great tarp and bivi camp regardless of pitch or weather, cracking. I will get out with the tarp and bivi very soon, you make it look so appealing and a l9ng stroke off what is was in the army days 😂 I went up past your border wall spot and did a camp on coldsmouth. The silence and the stillness up there in the morning was something special Adrian. I've walked past there many times, but not since I was a young man of forty. Looks like it could be time for another revisit. As one of your other commenters mentioned, Castle Hill is a really interesting place to spend the night, with gnarled old beech trees like something out of middle-earth 👍

I stumbled on your videos by chance a few weeks ago. I’m Northumbrian but moved to Birmingham in the mid 80s for work, I retired and ended up a bit further south again. Maybe one day I’ll return home for more than just a family visit.. keep up with the videos

Cracking camp Adrian, stunning place, no wind for a change lol, 👌, did you sleep with your down trousers/jacket on?, absolutely can't wait to get up that way ,how much water do you normally take out for a overnighter, if there's no chance of a water source on route ?, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig

Hi Craig, glad you enjoyed the camp, no real chance of water up here, so for a late camp I take 2 litres and if a longer day ie leaving at lunchtime,3 litres, Yes I sleep with the down gear on in these temperatures, it safes weight of bringing the winter bag, and I get evening ware !! and still plenty of down for the night. Dry each camp, what a treat, I think the hood makes the difference as it keeps draughty winds out while still letting you have it open a bit,I will be back in the British army bivy in the warmer weather Cheers
