National Lampoon's Vacation is a hilarious comedy film that follows the misadventures of the Griswold family as they embark on a cross-country road trip to the fictional amusement park, Walley World.
Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase), an optimistic and determined family man, plans the perfect vacation for his wife Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo) and their two children, Rusty (Anthony Michael Hall) and Audrey (Dana Barron). He believes that this trip will bring them closer together and create lasting memories.

I love the shtick how in each movie a different actor plays Rusty and Audrey, and sometimes Rusty is the older one and sometimes Audrey is. There are so many great one-liners from all 4 movies, like 'squirrel!!!' and Aunt Edna's 'am I gonna eat, or am I gonna starve to death.' Great movies!

yeah but the right people would have to make it comedy these days is ass it's terrible i tried to watch the last Vacation movie from (2015) and it was awful from what i saw of it. i'd say bring the entire cast that is still around back for another Sequel and have someone who wrote comedy's back than it's late so i can't think of a name right now that isn't passed away. and yeah grand kids by now would have to be there as well

@@chrishogue7823 I love him as an actor/comedian but yes the guy is an ass as for his reason for doing family movies after he had kids in the late 80's i think? that's when he only did comedy's and stopped doing R rated films that's when his movie Career turned to shit where he did still do some good ones i love Nothing But Trouble (1991) a favorite of mine i even like his Invisible man film but yes he has done a lot of bad ones.

My personal favorite was Christmas Vacation. The dialogue and the cast were amazing! I can pretty much recite every line along with the movie I have enjoyed it so many times. Johnny Galecki, Leonard from Big Bang Theory plays Rusty, Clark's son and Chumlee from Pawn Stars played cousin Eddy's son. Julia Louis-Dreyfus from Seinfeld played half of the the yuppie couple next door and who could forget Aunt Bethany played by Mae Questel the famous voice of Olive Oyl and Betty Boop cartoons... EG Marshall, Dianne Ladd Brian Doyle Murray and Juliette Lewis ...the list goes on and on It was an all star cast!

Oh God, the dog peed on the sandwiches! Aunt Edna shrugs and eats it anyway! The Grizwolds stop at a really run-down KOA campsite, and search for their tents, Audrey exclaims, THIS ONE REALLY STINKS. Clark exclaims, Aunt Edna this one is yours! LOL, the whole movie is full of zingers like that...

Thanks for the comparison histories. Eddie Bracken, Roy Wally, also starred in A Case of the Stubborns from the horror series, Tales from the Darkside, where he played an over-ripe elderly man who kept going long after his time was up, and the effects of that as well.

Jack Slater: "He's supposed to be back on duty. He was only suspended for a month. Now shut up." Danny Madigan: "Listen to what I'm saying. An animated cat just walked into the squad room. Hello?!" The original National Lampoon’s Vacation is my favorite, followed by Christmas Vacation. European Vacation was my least favorite. It was the first time we saw a change of actors portraying the kids. And the new casting choice didn’t sit well with me, nor did their performances. I still feel the same when I revisit these films. They should have used the original actors until they aged out of the roles, and maybe allowed them to grow up in the franchise as they were both really talented, particularly Anthony Michael Hall.

Mickey Jones also made a few appearances on the King of queens, specifically playing a mechanic season 6 episode 1 where Doug surprises Carrie on a trip to a place on a Lake, where he thought he brought Carrie but was actually some other girl 😆 and the one where Spence, deacon, Doug and Danny go to stop Spence's ex from getting married, Jones plays a store cashier in buttcreek kentucky. Jones is wearing the same clothes as a mechanic in the King of queens too.
