@@--mand0r-- bingo. She made something else because she knew it would be worse if she didn't. I was in a marriage like that, it was AWFUL. I did everything and everything I did was wrong in some way. Nothing was ever enough. Worked full time and did LITERALLY everything around the house, still constant verbal abuse. His abuse was more extreme than this, but of course the fact that he does this on camera makes me believe he's worse behind closed doors. It was so hard to get out, I left 10 or more times but finally left for the last time in March.

Taking care of your kids and paying attention to them is not just playing with them. edit: I just watched the rest of the video, who tf throws a clearly hard ball at your small child's head while they are turned around and are unable to move and avoid it. its depressing more then anything, nothing hurts more then seeing a person hide just how BADLY they are suffering, like just imagine being married that "man child" who doesn't even care for ANYTHING you do and belittles you on every level while sitting in his man baby crib, the best I can hope for is that his toddler-like posture causes him to slip and fall down some stairs and for him to just break his neck, because lets be real, he wasn't doing much other then consuming oxygen, if anything he would be better suited as fertilizer.

what also scares me is the internalized misogyny that she's clearly developing in response to his abusive behaviour, trying to justify his incompetent and manipulative actions. putting all the blame on his mom for his lack of maturity is awful, but the fact that she's led herself to think that way to excuse her husband's bullshit and make parenting a fully grown, able-bodied, able-minded adult bearable. so fucking awful to watch :/

This one time I went to my married friend’s house for a week and these TikToks were exactly what her husband was like. The wife cooked, cleaned, worked, and went out, and when we’d get back he’d be on the sofa playing Candy Crush on two different devices simultaneously, with four chat apps open on third device. Every day. She said he had a job but I never saw him do it, and the only warm meal he could make was a ham sandwich. Couch gremlin is such an embarrassing way to live your life

Yea so in case you delusional people didn’t know, men upkeep society, you just have bad taste in men if you think that man=bad. You do know that it’s a fact that men run the race and women wait at the finish line. A man has to build himself up, this can take most of his life. But a woman doesn’t need to do a thing and can be a nobody and get with a wealthy man. Do all the work? Are you kidding me. Maybe you mean their mental gymnastics? Cause there BUILT for that for sure. It’s called hypergamy. Women keep women single and this comment section is a testament to that

A teasing jab is one thing. My parents rag on each other from time to time but it's always mutual and never in mean spirits. Genuinely saying belittling and spiteful things to your partner is cruel, hell I accidentally let an errant thought slip out with my girlfriend, it had no basis at all and I thought it was just as stupid but the split second it was there it came out of my mouth because I was highly annoyed and tired and we were arguing. I hated how I made her feel, how I made her act...we worked it out but genuinely hurting someone you love cuts deeper than any insult to your own person and if not, you don't love that person.

I assumed she was a stay at home mother, but when he mentioned she was a nurse I just stopped because that makes the whole thing _so much worse._ Being a nurse is not easy. Almost every adult in my family works in the medical field, including my parents, both my grandfathers, all six of my maternal aunts + uncles, etc. so I've grown up hearing tons of stories of what it's like, as well as seeing first hand the long hours my parents both worked when I was young. My mother had problems juggling her career and a kid sometimes, such as being late to pick me up (on rare occasions), or being too tired to play with me because of how hard the job alone was. I can't imagine doing that with _three_ kids.

It is like a trap for women to be put in this role they are expected to do all the work 24/7, also if they don´t work they don´t have any finances in case of emergency or taking a semester from that role.

Every time he mentions the husband's age, he increases it by a decade, which is such a stealthy way of insulting someone and I love it. By the way, this woman blaming her mother-in-law for how he eats is probably her way of venting about her toxic mother-in-law because a toxic husband and a toxic mother-in-law usually go hand-in-hand.

Yup, can attest to this. Not because I have a toxic husband or a toxic mother in law. I actually loved my mother in law like my own mom before she passed. My little brother though.... is a fucking man child. The HORROR stories my sister in law has from his misadventures in "taking care of himself" are hilarious. He is the way he is though... because of my mom. Who I am fully aware is a "toxic mother in law". She just is. I love my mom to death but she is 1000% that mother in law that treats her son like a little prince. To this day she will try to say she doesn't to me and my sisters and we all give her a raised brow at the very least when she does. My brother has NO idea how to take care of himself and it's because my mom was the kind of mom that when he was a grown ass man he still went to her house every night for dinner and brought his dirty laundry to her house every week FOR HER TO DO till he met my sister in law. My mom would go to his apartment and clean it for him! The hilarious thing though is that HE has started trying to distance himself from her. Not because of how she treats my sister in law, or because he realized that he's a man child because of her. It's because her being intrusive as fuck has started to seep into his life in a negative way, in the fact that she constantly calls him during the day when he's sleeping. She's also not just toxic to my sister in law. She's thrown some toxicity my husbands way in the past, but I shut that down FAST. My little sister? She gets HYPER involved in her love life and gets close enough to some of her boyfriends to start calling them her new sons. Creeps EVERYONE out.

As someone who is autistic and has sensory issues, it is kind of appalling to see someone act this way towards a loved one who is doing something nice, she went out of her way to make something for him after he wouldn’t eat the original meal. My parents usually make me try new food, which I’m not good at, and specific textures, smells and tastes tend to stop me from eating certain things. But even when I don’t eat what they make, they expect me to make something myself, and sometimes they make something else for me, and when they do I don’t act hateful like he did. Pro tip for emerging adults: whatever you went through as a child, may not have been your fault, in fact, it mostly wasn't.... But when we become an adult, we assume the responsibility to fix the things we carried from childhood. And that is because we don't have the right to subject other people to behavior that is harmful, hurtful or irresponsible. (You'll also feel so much better, promise.)

i love this comment bc its true. it is noones responsibility but your own, and pushing your issues on others is not their responsibility. thank you for this comment, it validates a bit of what im going through right now. makes me not feel as crazy about what i feel when im told otherwise.

THIS! Childhood trauma and toxic behaviors are difficult to surpass, but it is still your responsibility as an adult to become a better person and stop those behaviors. Get a psychiatrist and a therapist if you can, talk to close friends about those behaviors if you can. If not, just try your best with what you have available. The first step is always recognizing you are wrong and trying to change. The problem with people like this man is they don't see their behaviors as wrong or toxic, so they never change. I understand she is trying to cope by taking the blame off of him, but I hope she finds it in herself to stand up for herself.

absolutely. one of the things i always do when i'm around people a lot is try to be understanding of their situation and don't make things worse. do they snap at you? they're probably just tired. skipped in line? it's ok, just tell them they were wrong. most times they didn't know you were a part of the line and apologize. are they tapping their foot in an annoying way? they're probably just stressed. if you sit down and think about it, not everyone is out to get you. they're all just like you, tired and hungry and irritated. they're all trying to get through the traffic or airplane ride or shopping line or even just the day. that of course doesn't mean i excuse some of their more rude behaviors, but it does mean i am more lenient with their situation. the point is, for emerging adults, don't think that everyone's out to get you. there's a sense of responsibility of being nice and understanding to others when you're an adult. if you're nice to them, they'll appreciate it and be nice back. i understand the world is horrible and so are people, but that doesn't mean that you have to be one of the people that make it horrible. edit: and yes, there is a point where your childhood trauma can't save you. there comes a point where you need to sit down and work through it or simply just don't tolerate someone who refuses to fix themself.

I'm neurodivergent and I have sensory issues. My partner made me a food that I couldn't eat but I ate as much as I could, however I felt ill that day anyway (later realised I had the flu). I took some home with me and I apologised a lot. He'd put so much care in making that food for me that I felt incredibly ungrateful for struggling to eat it. He's amazing and so is his cooking ❤

It’s not your fault if you can’t eat it, so it’s not ungrateful! The fact that you genuinely tried to eat it, especially while you were struggling to do so, already shows so much appreciation, respect, and gratefulness to the person who made it. Your partner wouldn’t want you to force yourself to be uncomfortable for their sake, and I’m sure he wouldn’t want you to feel guilty either

I'm not in situations where people make me food who don't know what I like, but I will say I am the main cook of my family and also am autistic, so unless my family specifically requests a certain I'm not making it lol. I feel sorta bad that I don't really know how to make sea food cause most of them love it (even my also auDHD sister), but it tastes and smells so gross they'll have to go out and buy that on their own.

I remember by dad telling me (10/10 dad, by the way, always ate whatever my mum put in front of him because he knew it wasn't his place to complain when he didn't make it) that my grandfather used to buy Taco Bell every night and just ignore the large meal my grandmother made for everyone. People really need to put more respect on full time mothers.

Yk how when you like go to college or you're away from home as a young adult for a long time and sometimes you don't have the money or time for cooking so you end up eating a ton of Ramen and fast food? All I fucking missed was my mom's cooking. Like a real fucking meal hits so good. Idk how husbands are not liking what their wives are making for them, it seems luxurious for someone to cook for you in comparison to taco bell.

Y’all if my husband did this…….he’s not in the metaphorical ‘dog house’, he would literally be sleeping outside with the animals until he learned to act right 😂 If you want the same dinner every night, find something you can make at home. It’s a waste of money to eat out every night.

I GASPED when she showed the countertops in the kitchen. How does an adult man not know how to clean up after himself? Like even if you don't do the dishes immediately after eating (let's be honest who actually does that) you can at least stack them and put them to the side to make it less messy. Put the dishwasher-safe stuff into the dishwasher. Throw away left-overs. DONT JUST THROW YOUR DISHES ONTO THE COUNTERTOP WTF

My ex husband did that. They don't clean anything intentionally. Of course it's not difficult to at least try to make it clean, but they don't. They want you to do it all, and they get angry if you don't. My ex would leave dishes, old food, garbage, dirty clothes, everything all over the place. He literally did nothing. Just drop everything and leave it. I have videos of times when I would go on "strike" and refuse to clean up after him and our house would begin to look like a hoarder house until I eventually gave up and stayed up all night cleaning it all. Then he would turn around and scream at me for being lazy and gross. It was so miserable and I'm so glad to be out of there.
