We want none of these disorders and try our best to do good even when our disorders are at their worst. But these people see it as a "get out of drama free" pass

Nah Social Anxiety can definitely make you an asshole. Remember being an asshole is about your impact not your intention. Some of the ways people with anxiety try to protect ourselves can be incredibly rude and make others feel bad

People use literally all mental illnesses as a scapegoat at this point. Whether they have them or not. It’s a popular way to try and get out of repercussions because people don’t want to be mean to someone who’s saying they’re mentally ill. Mental health isn’t your fault but it’s your responsibility. I don’t get to just say “well I have ADHD, and anxiety, and depression, and PTSD” every time someone calls me out on something. My actions are still my own and I’m responsible for them. We have access to the internet, so we in turn have access to the bare minimum of tools to help us understand our emotions and cope with them so we don’t take it out on others.

I have moderate social anxiety and I could never be rude to waitstaff or anyone providing me with a service, like serving me food or selling me clothes. I’ve been in retail, I’ve been a waitress; the stuff we’ve had to put up with is abysmal. So I couldn’t do it myself, even if my order’s wrong I try to make as little fuss as possible.

I work in retail and have had customers rant to me about having a bad day, but they're still so kind while they do it, and apologize to me if they do feel like they're coming off as a rude person. We all have our days, but in the end if you ruin another person's day by being an asshole, you're just an asshole.

Those suffering with social anxiety can still be outspoken at times, and they can also be dicks. Symptoms differ for everyone. most of this shit is internal anyway. I have had diagnosed generalized anxiety disorder since I was 16, I can definitely be an asshole when I’m going through a rough spot with it even if that makes it worse. Anxiety doesn’t manifest the same for everyone. Generalizing everyone with anxiety as a shy kid who sits in the corner isn’t helpful.

she is perfectly fine to complain about her job, because I do believe it has its downside as well. It's the 'my job is so much harder than anyone elses' complaints that boil my blood, because it is objectively not. Whining about getting up at 7am and having long meetings, when her job first and foremost consists of sitting in front of a camera, doing her make up and talking to people who adore her is just the pinnacle of not being self aware.

I made a living online for a while (sexy stuff, pre only fans) and it was BY FAR the easiest work I've done. Make ur own schedule, stock pile content so u can take several days off. like .. i’m a 16 y/o with a part time job that, during the summer, had me working almost the same hours as the ADULTS that are working full time. i work as i don’t get funding from my parents; clothes, food, gas, insurance .. all me. i play volleyball, both competitively/through travel and school, as well as class work, homework, studying, etc as a junior in school. my schedule is quite literally 4:30 AM - 2:20 school, 2:30 to 4:15 volleyball, 4:30 - 9:30 work. it takes me till ten to get home, then i have to eat, shower, study, finish work, feed my cat, and workout in a small ass timeframe. all of that, only to wake up with a solid 5 hours of sleep to do it all again. the past week, i’ve had bags under my eyes that have yet to go away. i’m dreary and reclusive from my boyfriend and friends, i don’t need to hear about how an influencer is struggling with her 2-4 PM posting schedule.

Cosmetic ads have laws against misrepresentation, over-editing, using extra products and not disclosing that. Maybe do even a simple googling without just saying "I think that's bullshit." Different countries have different laws but basically in all countries laws regarding cosmetics is that based on the images used or potential editing or usage of false lashes etc. cannot deceive buyers into thinking that the product is more effective than it is, and also you cannot lie about not using products you used.

Non specialized RN’s work 12h shifts doing backbreaking work depending on their area and do not make six figures. I go around putting people to sleep for way more money. Nothing really hard there for me. For me to say being a nurse is easy would be crappy. For this lady to equivocate her job is harder than laypersons is a fallacy and insulting to a significant portion of people. It’s so sad when you go around unscrewing people’s light bulbs so that you can shine.

I agree with you. I’m a cybersecurity engineer and my job is much harder than hers. I deal with tough situations, I see some of the worst things happen. It can get mentally taxing. Influencing is hard but it’s nothing compared to other jobs. I’m a woman in a man’s world I’m more likely to face abuse from my own colleagues and employers. She’s a woman in a woman’s world, she isn’t as likely to face these issues as me.

@@Youcantcallmehelen I'm just here to update and also definitely agree with you. I can film a WEEK WORTH of content for my instagram account in a couple of hours on a Sunday. Takes me 10 minutes or less to edit a reel, the only roadblocks are finding a good audio or outlining a VoiceOver.

Thi wasn’t a long term thing, but I used to work as a barista and would have to prep and open cafes at 7 am (and one at the unholy hour of 6:30 am). I had to wake up at 5:30 am at the absolute latest, then take a train to work, unlock, and prep every single ingredient. I’m not a morning person and it was hell. I’d never complain about having to get up at 7 again!

I wake up at 4. My husband works 4am- 7pmeven later on bad days

Doctors, and health care workers in general, are saints and don't get paid enough. For real. Y'all should be the ones being flown around the world on free trips and getting luxury dinners.

@@marleesgracehey I’m currently studying medicine, it’s totally up to you as in if you wanna do it out of passion and nothing else, but mostly it’s a no even from me , it’s just the way the medical works are treated nowadays by the society , from being ill treated , to getting stabbed and dying yeah that’s a no in my opinion. It’s honestly scary cause it shows the type of workplace we enter after all the hard work we put into becoming what we want😢

Thank you! This is exactly what I was thinking. I have horrible generalized and social anxiety and I have NEVER been rude to a waiter bc that may result in a public conflict which is my worst nightmare.

Where I live, the Wendy’s is like strangely slow, almost every time I go people will leave the line before they get to the front, and although I’ve never been mean or rude to the staff sometimes I’ll be annoyed or impatient and you can tell by my body language that I want to get out of there, or I’ll say to him that it’s taking to long or something and my boy friend gets so anxious every time cuz he doesn’t want the staff to hear or see, he HATES confrontation, even when it’s not even confrontation lmao, that’s social anxiety, I think he would probably crawl into a hole and never come out if I was actually mean to anyone in customer service

I do wanna mention that I’ve accidentally sounded rude to a Claire’s staff member before when I didn’t mean to and I felt so so awful omg

I worked at a casino in RI where we got a lot of Mass residents coming through & I have never heard an accent like hers. Neither did I hear it when I was in Boston or Quincy, & the Quincy accent was sometimes hard for me if the person was talking fast. I feel like a lot if influencers play up their accents on videos because they think it’s setting them apart from the others or something.

@@xeaux quincy - aka the hometown of Mr. Ballen who has no accent funny enough - has a classic boston accent not south shore - so idk if you’ve been watching the Karen trial, but Trooper Michael Proctor, (the guy who disgraced himself by calling her all kinds of horrendous names as the lead investigator of the case, which is not going very well for him at all he may go to jail in fact) was asked by a coworker via text if she was hot. His response was she’s OK weird Fall River accent though. That’s the accent he’s referring to and is the accent that Mikayla has naturally. Like I said I don’t really even know what this girl does on a regular basis I’m not defending her behavior, but I am defending her code switching accents

That’s not Fall River to me, it’s not code switching because she isn’t changing her language just exaggerating an accent, & idk what trial you’re talking about. You can defend her all you want but saying she’s code switching when she isn’t & it’s obvious that she’s doing this just for likes is absurd. Maybe you don’t like the sound of her voice or the tone of it but as far as accents go - and I DID say she is exaggerating it (glad you seem to agree now) - but she’s not FAKING the accent. I don’t think it’s the end of the world that someone is making money from her passion & her horrific voice. It’s the voice for me honestly. And when I say code-switching I mean her natural accent is somewhere between the exaggeration, and the from the video when she’s using diction. @@gothicxromantic the “working nonstop” part is too freaking real. I was an oven operator, and the ONLY one for my shift, so the only break I was allowed to take was my 30-min lunch (because that was required). I lost almost 50lbs working that job, and not only because it was physically demanding-I hardly ate during that time. I’d be too tired to make anything for myself when I got home. Good times 🙂

Vegans are villianized online, so it felt like maybe you were jumping on that train and trying to rile people up to bash vegans even more. When the experience you’re describing sounds like an average shitty warehouse, not vegan specific.

This. Then add being a single mom to this. I honestly believe she woukdnt know what to do or how to function. Working retail type jobs for almost 30yrs straight ruined my hips. Like, I've developed arthritis so bad in my hips that I'm gling to end up needing a hip replacement by the time I'm 50-55 (I'm 45, been working since I was 14-15) other factors played into this, weight, blah blah, but if she had to do half of what you said or what I've experienced, she'd probably off herself. I'd love to be an influencer. Seriously. You know for a fact, if she doesn't want to film that day, but lay in bed & eat ice cream & watch Netflix, she does. Must be nice is all I gotta say 🤷🏽‍♀️🙄

@@teresascanlon6729 exactly. I’m sure being an influencer has its flaws and difficulties, but to say her occupation is just as hard as what the working class experience is insane. Even if she did as much as the working class, she makes TONS AND TONS of money. Crazy amounts. That’s a big difference, as tons of people are living paycheck to paycheck nowadays
