Not every fat you consume turns into body fat. It's not physiologically possible.
Some fats you eat become:
Energy
Cellular structures
Cellular membranes
Immune cells
Hormones
Assist absorption of fat-soluble vitamins
and more.
So it is entirely incorrect to assume all fats you consume become body fat.
There are fats you should avoid, because they increase inflammation, cholesterol, obesity, and diseases, like animal fats from meat, dairy, and eggs, as well as processed vegetable oils.
Fats from whole plant foods like chia and flax seeds are essential for human health. They create our anti-inflammatory immune cells, optimize cellular communication, nutrient intake and toxin release, and are important for neuronal function for memory, nerve repair, moods and attention.
Avocados have been shown to help people with fat loss, by increased satiety, and also shown to cause a more significant decrease in cholesterol than diets with no fats added. They do not cause fat gain.
Demonizing fats can cause health problems. It can slow down or stop disease reversal, keep inflammation higher, slow down metabolic rates and keep people from losing fat even with exercise, and can cause people to feel voraciously hungry by bypassing the satiety signal release by fat intake (CCK).
So let's stay focused on the specifics and demonize the unhealthy fats, while we prioritize the life-saving and metabolism-boosting omega-3s!

Wow, thank you for this video! I was so convinced that "the fat you eat is the fat you wear", that I have been terrified to eat any fat for fear of gaining weight. I just started the hyper nourish protocol, but was so afraid of the chia seeds. This gave me the confidence to embrace the chia (I don't like flax)!!!

How interesting! I would have thought that too many calories from anything would cause fat gain.

dr. G I love all the information that you share with us and I continue to learn daily. Dr. John McDougall is the one who says the fat you eat is the fat you wear however he is talking about animal fat.. Dead animals and animals secretions

Not just animal fat. He regularly talks about how fat vegans who eat processed vegan foods (oreos as an example) who do not help their cause. Fat vegans are not a good advertisement for veganism

Dr Brooke said “saturated” fats are the fats that the body stores as body fat , saturated fat is the fat thar makes us fat . So does “saturated” “plant” fats (coconuts and chocolate) also turn into body fat then? I would assume so . But she seemed quick to add saturated fats from animal . But isn’t saturated fat satiated fat so the body will do the same thing regardless of its source . Seems so . I’d love for her to answer this though

It is a fact that after a meal with a lot of fat, your blood becomes thicker and your red blood cells stick together, which means that circulation is impaired. Furthermore, the absorption of carbohydrates is disrupted. Regardless of whether one gains weight from it or not, these are enough reasons to reduce the intake of fat, whether from avocados or flaxseeds. Just imagine what a highfat meal on a regular basis does to your body...

I’m very familiar with this idea. What I do is I don’t have sweet fruits in meals I have with dense fat in it. Or as 80/10/10 suggested eat the sweet fruit first & wait atleast 1/2 hr before you eat a meal with a dense fat & best to save the fat to the end of the day so your still good with the fruit during the day BUT I’ve seen ppl talking about evidence that when you blend , like she suggest, a fat (like flaxseed) and some fruit into a smoothie it acts differently in the body than it would if we ate it separately at the same time . Like the body handles that combo much better blended

@@Alykat736 that does not change the effects on the blood viscosity. Your red bloodcells have a harder time travelling through the small blood vessels, the red blood cells have to tilt to go through and if they stick together it becomes very hard for them.... that means you impair your circulation, not good especially if you have problems with it in the first place. We dont need dense fat sources on a regular basis if any at all

I have heard all oils are bad for the cardiovascular system --- is that correct? OR is it only omega 6 fatty acids that are detrimental? Thanks!

I don't need fat loss, just muscle gain. Lost a lot of fat incorrectly trying Paleo. My arms look great, though.

What can you say about aortic aneurysm? Natural treatment (before I let the doc intervene and open me up)

aortic aneurysm is an emergency, you need to 100 percent stop everything and anything that contributes to vascular disease, yesterday. Get her advice ASAP and maybe life saving surgery shouldn't be taken off the table.

I'm curious what happens to excess omega fats, if you consume so much, I don't think the body can use all of it for cells, there must be some that the body has to eliminate some how?

@@Goodbyeeveryonehere I have listened to every wellness Wednesday, I don't recall her ever explaining what happens to the excess. Maybe I missed it. But I did notice that in the description she mentioned it can be used for energy, so maybe the body just burns it off? But apparently can't store it, because that would mean it becomes body fat. (Unless it can be stored in cells).
