For some reason log homes became a thing to build fast and easy back in the day. Many people had them built and moved in, enjoying their new homes, while they could... As the years passed problems started to arise, and this led to log homes and their high maintenance becoming a very common thing, deterring people from building them even if they loved the look of them. After refinishing log homes for three years, Jared felt he couldn't continue to charge people the price he had to charge to refinish their home when he knew it wouldn't last and would just need to be done again.
This is what lead him to do some research and realize that some European log homes have lasted for hundreds of years. They differ in a few small ways that pay off in a big way, leading him to start building the homes rather then refinishing them.
This log home is Jared's favorite one they have built thus far. It is getting close to being finished and the excitement of preparing to take it to it's forever home is building.
