Long ago, I had forgotten about my son's Furby that had been left in the boot of my car. One day, I went to my car after shopping to find a bunch of cops breaking into it. The stupid thing had gotten squished and, with dying batteries, it sounded like someone using their last gasping breaths to beg for help.

My brother and I never got a furby, but we DID make a 12 unit condo unit for our beanie babies out of tissue boxes we saved up for months and got our family/mom's coworkers to 'donate' to us. they had windows glazed with clear tape and everything.

Omg one Guy Fawkes Night, my Furby went BANANAS after one especially loud firework. It was just catatonic rocking back and forth, eyes rolling, speaking Furbish on-stop. Had to take the batteries out of it to stop it...

I gave my older girl a long furby (4th gen i think?) for her 6th birthday. It still works and it really is a fun and cuddly toy that kids love. Especially a long furby, since it's about as long as a body pillow, furry, and full of stuffing.

I got a furby in 98. A blue one. As soon as I opened it on Christmas day morning I put it in front of the fireplace and opened the rest of my presents of santa clause! Little did I know the furby didn't survive :( i was mortified 😂

My daughter got the one in 2012 with the digital eyes for Christmas. She decided to take it for a walk in her wagon. It immediately got fire eyes and promptly died lol had to return it for another one.

The screw type you were talking about are called Phillips screws (like the brand), but cross screw works too, although it's a bit of an umbrella term. If you said star I'd assume you mean a torx screw, which are getting more and more common in assembly line work.

My Furby always wanted to play Hide and Seek. Which considering the toy couldn't walk anywhere on it's own was a little silly 😂😂 Also the fake snoring when it was going into sleep mode lol Mine never learned a single word. My parents were super mean and didn’t get me a Furby even though I wanted one so badly. However, as an adult I understand that they were actually saving us all from the torture haha The little girl next door to us had one that I got to play with, and I must admit, I got tired of it after an hour or two. We even put it in the closet to shut it up, and it never stopped talking. It was when I got back to my peaceful Furbyless home that I was glad my parents didn’t get me one. But you had better believe that when McDonalds had Furby Happy Meal toys I collected every single one hahaha
