HPI Racing is one of the most recognisable and beloved brands in the entire RC industry. With legendary cars and trucks, such as the Savage, Trophy Truggy, Sprint, Super Nitro, Vorza, Nitro Rush and the Sport & Pro series RS4 touring cars, to name but a few!
However, they've been through a torrid time, with financial struggles, poor parts support and customer trust at an all-time low.
This may be all about to change!

I always wonder why so many companies are offering RTR. For me part of the enjoyment is building the kit. I dont want RTR's

All good comments, i was a big hpi fan, now i just have the 2 a blitz flux(soon to get sold ,due to no parts availability) and the jumpshot flux mt, which is a good truck

The arrmas were decent prices until they were bought by horizon. Then they put the spectard electronics in them which are worse than the old systems. The vorza seems like decent value now.

cant say that its a goodthing that horizon buying up alot of brand as it scew the market and as they got no competition in the end they can take what ever price they can imagine anybody would pay. and for that matter my opinion is that lets say arrma typhoon is a horrible buggy handles like a brick and eaven with setup its handling horrible.

Just be thankful you arnt dealing with 30% price mark ups from RRP because you live overseas and nobody ships here so you are left with only local as a choice

The vorza looks like it's been down graded. The new model look like plastic shocks. They should be orange alloy like baja shocks hpi signature. 💩 we like shiny stuff. Shocks should be a shiny part.

Just got a Hpi rs4 sport 3 creators edition dog bone issue seems to have been addressed and handled great I must admit I prefer it over tt02

I enjoyed building my Venture but the hex screws are made of cheese, I had to replace a lot of them

Interesting. I've had many RCs with cheese screws, but the Venture wasn't one of them.

£450 retail in the UK. How much was it, before?

@@TheRCScotsman the actual RRP before was 499.99, but most UK retailers drop a bit off retail to be competitive. The New RRP is £449.99 so a £50 saving but there isn't a drop off from the new RRP so it doesn't look as juicy as some of the other prices.

the venture was very good but my jumpshot brushed has been a pain . dog bone fell out and the gearbox cover has that hole in the cover 🤔so it needed upgrades which put it at the same price as the traxxas equivalent alas 🤷‍♂️

The Jumpshots that start with 160*** numbers are the latest versions that have the better Flux gearbox in them. The brushed are over £100 cheaper than the latest Traxxas equivalent. Brushless is something like £150. I could get a Quantum MT for the difference in cost.

Timely conversation regarding HPI pricing. I have been looking at the HPI jump-shot flux for some light bashing. Would you recommend it? It would be a step up from my tamiya runners.

I would, I have the Hpi firestorm flux, the thing is insane, 3 cell, 61mph, ( I've no doubt it would do the 70+ it says on the box. I've got bigger ones but this is best for fun

I had a jumpshot sc flux, was frustrating keeping the front end on the ground, it's very fast on 2s but lifting front on bumps at speed is annoying.

Jumpshot Flux is a good truck. Especially at the new £190 RRP!

You’re absolutely right I bought a flux excess and a quality control sucks but it’s a good truck they should sell them as kits it’s had a bunch of striped screw heads. I bought a savage 5.9 went threw the transmission most of the grub screws did not have lock tight. I have an original 5b made in Taiwan awesome car I contacted Hpi about the stripped screws they blamed it on me I will not buy another Hpi product but I will keep the new ones I bought running I wish someone would buy the company and fix the quality control

Interesting chat video but : Maverick is cheap to buy , but very cheap quality . Quantum break after few minutes of very little bash . Shocks schafts are bent on the first small crash . Very bad quality plastics and steel . So you just get what you pay for... No bargain. Better buy Associated Rival MT10 , a bit more expensive ( around 50 bucks more ) but much more reliable and proven solidity than the crappy Quantums . New Jumpshot ST V2 brushed recent release ( red body color) , they still sell the older ones with the same name ( often seen at the same price ), that is stupid , the new one should name V2.1 or V3 ... Now you finally get slipper cover protection + upper and idler metal gears ... but still plastic diff gear housing . As you said , the steel gear costs justs a few € , stupid they dont include it right out of the box ... As well spur gear is still very cheap soft plastic that wont last. Even on flux brushless versions , transmission is not strong enough to last , even on 2S. Just like you , i liked the design of the chassis and the look ... but it seems quality is not on par with the competitors . (Team Aassociated Pro 2wd SC10 for example , based on RC10T4 i own, is much better I think compared to HPI flux ) I can get Jumshot ST V2 old version for 179€ , new red one for 214€ , new green SC for 190€ and flux around 275€ ... But I wont buy . For comparison between HPI Sport 3 / Tamiya TT02 ... i had my TT02S for 99€ and now you can easily find it around 120€ ( including wheels , tires and motor ) And basic TT02 is 90€ everywhere (including everything , esc , body , wheels and motor , just get a Carson TT02 tuning kit for 50 bucks including CVA shocks and bearings kit , and you are good to go for 140€ total. ) Hpi sport 3 will cost you at least twice the price to be ready to go . And it keeps being a leisure touring car that wont win races . TT02 is unbeatable for that use. ( and you are sure to find parts everywhere and lot of aftermarket cheap parts for decades as well ... ) If you want more competition design , you have 3racing , Xpress , Carten T410 etc touring car kits , lot of choice from 100 to 150 bucks that are more competitive and performant as well than the old RS4 sport 3 design. Hpi sport 3 builder s kit is 160€ minimum everywhere else than modelsport.uk . (France and rest of Europe) Maybe modelsport.uk lowers Hpi prices cause they already know Hpi is going to die. Hpi Venture is nice but its outdated , and not really a bargain. You can get SBK KIT for 199€ , but with extra wheels , tires and a decent body , it becomes more expensive than a TRX4 sport kit ( i bought mine 275€ ) . Trx4 sport perfoms much better out of the box , stock tires are excellent , and body is not cheaply made . it needs very few cheap mods to perform even better , and parts or options are everywhere and cheap. Hpi venture is more of a scaler than a true performing crawler like the TRX4. Each time i looked for a new scale/crawler , I thought about the Venture , but finaly get an Axial Wraith spawn kit at bargain price ( 225€ ) then my TRX4 sport kit , and a Gmade KOMODO GS01 ( 275€ ) . You say Hpi lowered their RRPrices .... but there are NO RRPrices mentionned on their website ... (Hpi.com) So ... 😉

Wow, that's a long comment! Thank you for taking the time to make the discussion. So, let's discuss: Maverick is certainly cheaper quality than many. However, I'd confidently state the quality (and quality control) is far better than the likes of FTX, which they are now even cheaper than. This, to me, makes them a real bargain. But, yes, an MT10 is a completely different animal! Absolutely agree! The fact that they sorted the issues with the Flux and then kept selling the brushed version with the flaws is absurd and very silly. Apparently, the newest brushed versions have the Flux gearbox, but you don't know which one you'll get, without looking at the part numbers. Calling it "V2.1" would sort it. Definitely! The Jumpshot Flux is OK, but the Team Corally 2WD monster trucks are MUCH stronger. Absolutely, you can find a TT-02 for less than £150, but I can only talk about the RRP, when I'm comparing models. If I'm talking about the RRP of the Sport 3, then I must compare it to the RRP of the TT-02. That's the only fair way I can do it. Please bear in mind that the UK has an import tax added to everything, so it is more expensive here than in Europe. Your points about the competitive touring cars are absolutely valid. Fully agree. However, the Sport 3 is a wonderful balance between street basher and entry-level club racer. Generally, competition touring cars are poor on the street, because grit and stones tend to ruin the belts, pulleys and gears, and the nice chassis gets all scratched, underneath. If I wanted a TC to fulfil both roles, I'd pick a Sport 3 over a TT-02. But, that's just my opinion. Sport 3 has an RRP of £99 everywhere in the UK. Shops cannot charge more. Again, please remember that UK customers get screwed-over, due to import tax! An RRP of £174 is very cheap for the UK. Everything has at least a 20% increase over European prices. A TRX4 Sport has an RRP of £390, in the UK! More than double the cost of a Venture. Yeah... the HPI website needs seriously sorted! Thanks, again!
