Peter, you did good. I am so proud of you for making this happen for Skylar. I was the only girl with 2 brothers living in a 2 bedroom house. My parents had a room, my brothers had a room so the only place left for me to sleep was the hallway. When I was 15, my father took reclaimed wood and used carpet and enclosed our back porch for me. My space was 8' x 10' but I loved it. I feel Skylar's joy 🤗

They do so much. Absent parents need to pick up their phones and call their children. Keep the lines of communication open. So much of the abuses that happen do so because abusers have been able to cut-off family members. Earn children's trust. They need to understand you are on their side. Not to be used but to be useful. Sometimes, a person may have to divorce or leave a partner. Do not also divorce your children. Parents cannot turn children against you if your children know, you love them and will be there for them if they are being hurt or threatened with abuses.

Peter, I commented before. My late husband and I had 4 biological and and 4 adopted through foster care. My husband died 18 years ago and my youngest is 21. I’m 47. I’m so elated to see you doing what should come naturally to everyone. I love your family! I wish I was closer to you! I would love to be licensed to help provide respite and provide art therapy etc…

What a lovely room for the little princess! The colors are very soft and welcoming. The bed options are great too. The stairs to the upper bed make it so easy and safe for her to use. The bedding choices are great! Thank you for listening to her as she expresses herself. The reaction to her brother about her rules is too funny - “I’m NEVER coming in here!” LOLOLOL.

The unicorn pillows and Rabbit are awesome. I can't help but want to do something colorwise to the white bed to pull it better I to the room. But beautiful room ....most especially beautiful was her joy.

💖🤍💜💖🤍💜💖🤍💜 Get her some unicorn night lights or unicorn towels. They even have unicorn wall stinsels that would be cook. But I also like the room not being over cluttered. This is beautiful for her and something she will never forget

Skylar's bedroom is lovely and so spacious! Every detail, every color, the nice furniture, the adjacent bathroom ... everything looks just right. What a dream room for any child! I always yearned for bunk beds when I was growing up. Those unicorn pillows and colorful blankets are the finishing touches on an already delightful place to sleep, study, read and play.

It's so nice that you are able to give your children these lovely spaces. They will not grow up wishing they had a comfortable safe place to call their own, but the more important and best gift you have already given them. You've given them unconditional love and the knowledge that who they are and what they need and want really matters and that they are heard. Ohhhh Peter...I absolutely adore everything ❤️ 😍 How wonderfully done!!!! Lisa is first off gorgeous, secondly she really put together a girly room but not a lil girl room rather one that can grow so amazingly well with her. I'm seriously impressed she went this route and not how many would have. I so wished I could take her and get her a lil beauty make over to complete her massively special day. I honestly have the biggest tears in my eye's seeing her joy and her brother happy for her. When you tucked her in saying no nightmares my heart broke...as an abused child myself I know that fear of sleep. I pray whatever they've been through that your love and safe home heals their hearts, that they will never know what it's like to go to bed in fear again. May God continue to bless and protect you all!
