John McEntee, a former Trump staffer, is bragging about giving fake money to unhoused people, in order to trick them into getting arrested.
McEntee is a far-right MAGA provocateur and Project 2025 adviser who previously served as a personal aide to President Trump - that is, until he was kicked out of the White House for an alleged gambling addiction (Trump later hired him back in a different role).

Unknowingly passing a counterfeit bill (the part where you got screwed over) is unlikely to result in charges. One homeless man said, “California is paying me to be here. I have my cell phone, Netflix and get to sleep in paradise { on the beach}”. He also gets a food card too. If it is California, I doubt they'd get arrested, but if they did they would be out in a few hours. They would learn to read each bill they're given too.

A counterfeit bill is a forged bill made to pass as legal tender. Movie set bills say on them "not legal tender" and clearly states it is a fake bill. That means it is not a crime. It is a gift of a fake bill. To be counterfeit it has to be forged legal tender. This bill is not. No crime was committed.
