Great Podcast fellas, especially for us who have not grown up close to league. You both explain the game in a way we can understand, yet never dumb it down, thereby keeping it relevant for the knowledgeable fans. Mase, what does it feel like as a player backing up after Origin? Do you feel tired? Heavy legs? A bit sore? Run out of puff in the last 15-20 minutes? Motivation, (even though club comes first) or psychological factors? Is the origin result a factor? Do you need more rest following the club game that week? No other elite contact sport has such a short turn around between games. I was wondering this while watching the Cowboys v Warriors, and the perception that the Warriors do benefit at origin time each season. Any insights into this unique situation, would be much appreciated, but no worries if not :)

I'm glad you guys actually aknowledge the Galvin problem and more importantly the manager. The manager causes problems in every club he has players at. He should of remained banned and never let near the game again he actively ruins players and teams all for his own greed, he doesn't give a toss about the game and only loves the players as a commodity.

Hey boys love the content, every week and the only one my 12 year old son lets me play when we are in the car. Just a thought with the origin send off and the stats of teams losing if if they lose an outside back early in the game and with HIA. Shouls we allow a 19 man squad but still can only play 17 that would give teams more cover depending on how the game plays out and would maybe see some young blokes get a start if a team was winning comfortably.

If these Tigers players like Utoikamanu and Galvin are requesting to leave to go to a club with better systems to further their development, and they take less to do so (or less than they could), I can't really hold it against them. If Utoikamanu took 600-700K for 2 years to go play at the storm he would be right in contention for origin, learn what success in the NRL is like, and his future value would explode. Compared with $800K for 5 years of bad results with poor systems at the tigers with a new coach every year, after which your value will probably plummet... for me its an easy choice.

Coming here after watching the Sharks v Phins game. Sharks I believe are the best second half team in the NRL, which is good and all, but not sure they are qualified to be a final 4 team by the end of the season with how many slow starts they get. Not a good way to make a living having to dig yourself out all the time.

Hey boys, on situations similar to the Galvin point, but rather than wanting out of sinking ship, wanting a better deal, I would like your players perspective on this. I don’t like seeing players, usually early in their career, being shopped around by managers for a better deal or demanding an upgrade because they now believe they are worth more. If you didn’t think you wanted to be there, you shouldn’t have signed the contract. A player playing at a level above their contract value isn’t unfair, it is the punt that the club has taken on the player paying off. If a player is gonna take a punt on a player and have it pay off, shouldn’t it be the same circumstance for a playing taking a punt on themselves and holding out before signing a new contract? I understand this may be critical on the player and that clubs do dirty by players at times too, just explaining the perspective of the fan and curious of your thoughts.

Scope and wiremu love the show, what are your thoughts on tigers Galvin asking for a release, bear in mind he did ask for a release before the season started and then you have the ceo shipping around those that are contracted to other clubs. Seems to me like it’s a bit hypocritical that they don’t want to release him but at the same time they are shopping others under contract who prob haven’t asked for a release. You can’t ask for loyalty yet you’re doing the exact opposite. Let me know what yous think.

Cowboys need to step up their kicking game, every team at the top seems to have a gun kicker that can put teams in their own 10, the 2 games Clifford’s played he’s kicked the other team to death. Keary has mentioned multiple times this week the kicking game is what got them last weekend, Chads stupid little half bomb to the left wing is pathetic, they catch it on their own 20 and make 10-15 meters because no one has the time to get down there. i don’t think dearden has a decent one either.

I am a passionate Cowpoke & as a member I waa there at the game. With complete impatialit, there were a few bullshit calls which gave the Warriors the momentum. To their credit, they seized that momentum & ran away with the game. The crowd was livid with the decisions. As for my Cowpokes, they missed about 50 tackles. Our defence really is piss poor. If we fixed that, & our byes, we are a top four team. We have the roster

How could we get state of origin back to a spectacle, it's really lost its appeal. I still watch it but it's lost the X factor and aura in the last 15 years or so

Is the Tigers schedule not important in all of this? Since round 8, last game at Campbelltown or Leichhardt. R9 Accor R10 Scully Park R11 Suncorp R12 Queensland R13 Bye R14 Win Stadium Road games are hard enough regardless of travel, it's very impressive to me what the Warriors have to deal with, and the Cowboys to some extent. But the Warriors are not the perineal wooden spoon contending team right now that is struggling to win games and keep talent. And I don't know how the players feel about the 1st week bye round, but that feels like the kiss of death. They put the worst performing team a game behind to start the season. All of the other teams had their tune up game already, and the Tigers now get a warmed up team (The Raiders BTW, who are now a solid top 8 team) while they, the Tigers, are coming out cold. Just my opinions though, players may love that first round bye.

Im over the Lachie Galvin thing, everyone is blaming the player manager and people "in his ear" but if you were 18 being told all the people teaching you your trade aren't good enough to be here and we don't care about contracts we are selling them off (these are mentors and people Galvin possibly looked up to when he got promoted form Juniors) Then, guess what kid go play with a busted hand because we are losing and we don't care if it causes long term injury, we need to win because we are desperate for success. But don't worry, we get Luai next year and with our 2 million in the cap and our now Seizar, Sullivan and Luai we promise we won't just send you back to Juniors after making you bust your guts injured all year I doubt anyone would feel cared about in that situation. And for parents watching their son lose and play with a busted hand for minimum earnings under a rookie coach, I don't blame them for being concerned for their sons future and thinking he will be tossed away like a bad meal everyone has kinda just assumed that other clubs have pressured him or said something, is there really not a justifyable argument that the tigers have done this themselves
