This tutorial shows how to setup a multi camera 3D projection workflow .Also, shows how to project several images onto a single card in Nuke and why it's so important to have more than one projection camera.
I couldn't find a lot of tutorials showing how to deal with setting up a 3D projection workflow when dealing with a camera that is traveling forwards or backwards. Most tutorials show how to deal with a camera that pans left to right or simply takes a still image and project it onto a card. I wanted to show the issues that happen when a camera is dollying and how to deal with it.

How much time was spent rotoing the running character in the end? Also, wouldnt it had been enough to use a blur node on the alpha to blend the projections together? then just use one final mask to cut of at the start of the tile stones?

excuse me, how you saved an still image to edit then in photoshop?, i know how to do that in after effects but no in nuke.

Well there are several ways actually. 1 way is to use the Write node and render out 1 frame of the footage. Another way is to install a plugin that allows you to take a snapshot. (can't remember the name). But in the case of this tutorial, I used an easier approach. The footage I imported into nuke that was used as my "read node" (tracking footage) was an image sequence (not an MOV file). So for example if the footage was 5 seconds long, I basically had 120 still frames. So I would simple use whichever frame I needed. Hope this helped,

Wow, what a great tutorial. I'm not done watching yet but i just wanted to say that you are doing a fantastic job explaining. Particularly the thing we've all gone through which frame to choose for the projection(s). Thanks a lot!! gonna subscribe in hope for more tutorials like this. Btw, you know that you can use 1-9 to toggle between viewing nodes? (dont need to drag the arrow)

man ! appreciate your tutorial but u can always add a framehold than deleting animation in camera especially in a studio team environment! for a suggestion! it will be clear which frame is being projected and also faster! u can even python it that framehold comes with current frame

Did you paint a certain number of frames and then put them on the scene?
@LOUCANNIZZO
@LOUCANNIZZO 7 жыл бұрын
I did paint several different frames and added them to the scene. I did that by stopping on a frame, Create a static Cam and then painting out that frame. Ie;, Went to frame 10, Copied the Tracked Cam, Made that copy a Static cam of frame 10, Paint out Frame 10 and then projected the painted out frame 10 back on a Card. Hope that helped :)

Great tut and great explanations, seriously. But the audio volume is just too low and I couldn't find the media files anywhere :(
@LOUCANNIZZO
@LOUCANNIZZO 7 жыл бұрын
Sorry about the audio levels. Hopefully that will be the last of the low level tuts. As for the files? I don't think I was including them since I would need permission from my client. The workflow should be the same with any files that were shot on a drone. There's lots of free footage online. I've used this over times. all-free-download.com/free-footage/ Hope this helps
