I might be the petty one here, but some nurses just give off the WORST attitude on top of asking for the most while doing report.
It's all good though, in nursing you learn to adapt your energy so you can keep the drama down and just get the work done. Watch till the end so you can see how much my job is paying for bonus shifts!

Yes they act weird like try to embarrass you like giving you a random pop quiz to get you tripped up when they can look it up in the EMAR.

Omg I'm in long term care and everyday the nurse relieving me wants a long report. I mean these are the same patients lets just stick to the changes and keep it moving.

You have a sheet with all pertinent info on it and we doing a bedside shift report don't come with all those questions! Sometimes this happens in ltc. I had a nurse in ltc ask me what they were there for? They are OLD unable to care for themselves mostly. Thanks, brandy love the prn life.

Yes that is so annoying especially as an agency nurse when sometimes you were given little to no report from the previous nurse and the oncoming nurse wants to know all this unnecessary info. Like if you need all that look it up.

YES!!! I swear they do that. It was like that the other day when I picked up a shift at a ltc. So the evening shift nurse didn't get a good report because the day shift nurse left. So the report given to me was basic they all alive. I went with it just let me know who my tube feeders are etc. I can look up all that other stuff IF I get a chance.

One thing I loved about the Neuro floor I worked on, it was mandatory to do walking rounds. That was helpful.

I completely agree. We had that policy in my hospital in Florida and it was beneficial to both oncoming nurse and patients.

Love you Nuse B, been watching since you was lpn, i flew through and been 3 months RN now, we print out our handoff in epic which list history and everything, i just add in my little SBAR and if i dont know i let them know its in the MAR. makes my report easy, because when its time to leave i am gone! i dont get paid by hour, im salary honey haha!

Nowbrandy...ltc and hospital report are totally different. I was used to giving lazy report in ltc....we gotta tighten up in the hospitals

I love giving report to the nurses that just need to know the important things and the plan moving forward wether they on tele and the last time they got a pain pill and any hep drips. That’s it that’s all hand off the report sheet and go my a$$ home. But this is why i open up the chart while i give report just so the info is right in your face don’t ask me no dumbass question girl lol 😂

This one of the reasons why I quit working the nursing home. U have to remember everything down to the underwear color the patient has on. I’m ready to go home. Don’t test my knowledge or play mind games.

I Really miss 👩‍⚕️Seasoned Nurses. they actually cared about patients and gave good reports to on coming staff. 🔴I'm so OVER this new generation of IDGAF "Nurses". I see why Robot AI Nursing🤖 is coming.

I think you misunderstood her. She's saying that "seasoned" nurses are too lazy to confirm information themselves. They want you to hand them EVERYTHING when they should be looking it up for confirmation. I don't answering the questions, but it should be good practice to come in early and review the chart yourself then get report to fill in gaps.
