I’m stagnant in my career. I been a LPN for the last 3 yrs working assisted living. I like that it’s chill lol but I’m not learning anything. I have tried skilled but these places are horrible. I just started in my bridge program bc I want more options as a nurse. Great video btw!!

Girl I did the exact opposite of you. I became and LPN and went straight into the hospital. I work neurology which was a very heavy floor with a very high turn over rate. Well I started the bridge program in January and left to make more money in LTC because hospital pay LPN way less than LTC. If I go back to the hospital after i get my RN I'd probably make the same pay I making now as in LPN in LTC. But to be completely honest I do miss the hospital. But until I'm done with school I need to maximize my pay.

That’s so cool that you got hospital exp as a LPN! I was always told that hospitals pay less and I waited a year till I applied for the hospital as a RN then I got my highest paying nursing job at this place I’m at now. I think if you can get PRN, weekend option or travel assignments ( some of them will take you even if you are local) you will def get paid more in the hospital as a RN, they really need RNs!you have experience so I would def use that to negotiate your pay. Good luck with everything. I bet going to nursing homes was a bit of a culture shock. I also wonder if you can find a good nurse extern job at the hospital as you get closer to graduating maybe, either way you have SO many options!

@@yourfavnurseb9699my best friend’s an LPN, I’m the one who pushed her into working at the hospital. She’s on a pulmonary floor- I’m not a nurse, so I don’t know the ins and outs. But from what she tells me, she takes the same amount of patients as the RN and then just has to get an RN to push IV meds, start a drip etc. Anything she can’t do. In Ohio it was around 2021 at the peak of Covid they started hiring them in the hospitals

@@yourfavnurseb9699 I’ve been an LPN for 3 three years now and only worked in the hospital started on Neuro/Trauma now in ICU. I love it but I misss LTC I wanna go back when I finish this RN

@yourfavnurseb9699 Weekend option was something I was considering before I left b/c it's 15/hr added to your pay. So from what im making now in LTC it'll be 3 more an hour. But, I have 2 small children, 2yrs and 4yrs. I felt that with the 4 y.o being in prek id hardly see him or be able take them out. I just couldn't give up all my Weekends. My manager tried to convince me. We was already required to work 5 Weekend shifts out of a 6 week period. Now I work no weekends and make close to what they would make if I had went Weekend option. It's crazy.

I am a Hha and I am introverted person and I definitely focus on the vibe that I am getting from the other person sometimes I keep to myself one day depending on on who.and the I try to to more extroverted on the next

I have been in a gravy 3rd shift state job for past 6 months. Its easy and the pay and benefits r 😻. But i am not, nor do i think i will, growing as a nurse. I went back to school at 48 bc i wanted to be bedside. I accepted a med surg/icu float position 2 days ago but then started panicing last night and thought maybe i wont put my notice in. Truly i was asking the great spirits to send me a sign. *This* video was my sign. Make the change, learn more. I can always re-assess next steps in a year like u said.

look at you! it's a reason why to applied for that med surg gig and like you said you can always reassess and pivot whenever. You have options and many possibilities. Keep us updated on how it goes.
