I use this product everyday at work in a Deli. I Dice Cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and cauliflower for vegetable pizzas. Love it! Yes you do have to cut the vegetables down to fit. Even smaller than what this guy did. But it still saves time rather than cutting everything by hand. It's not designed to cut cheese, just fruits and veggies. Main thing is that everything in your salads looks nice and uniform in the end. Dicing works the best. Cleaning it, just soak for a few minutes and use a kitchen brush or high pressure sink hose. This guy just needs more practice on how to use it properly. I do recommend it!

I just saw a commercial for this product for the first time. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies and was hoping to find a quicker way of cutting them for my husband (I'm disabled). I decided to look for a review before I ordered one and I'm glad I did. This product looks like it would frustrate him more than help save time and cutting. Great review!

This was really frustrating..not just having to cut the items into small pieces to use the chopper but the amount of force needed to get it to cut - and don't get me started on the cleanup... very frustrating. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
@eves45993 жыл бұрын
With any chopper, cut the vegetables with the fleshy part on the blade and the tougher part of the skin on top. Cucumbers work better if you cut the pieces lengthwise again so they make half-circles. Cheese needs to be very cold. Hard cheese works better. Amazon sells extra containers with the lids. I got this for doing small amounts of fruits and vegetables for myself. I have a larger original Vadalia chopper that must be 20 years old minus one blade set that I use for larger amounts, but I still have to cut the vegetables to fit. I like them both for the uniformity of the slices.

I think the reason you had trouble with the cucumber and the onion, was that your pieces were too large. This works the same way the Vidalia Food Chopper works. Great and handy tool, but you need to put in smaller pieces to make it work effectively. Totally handy. But the Vidalia works on a larger scale. So I’ll opt for that one instead

Well I saw a couple of other videos where they more or less describe it and do a brief demo. But you showed it like someone using it for the first time and I could see the difficulty you were having. I really would like a product that works like the pampered chef chopper and is also affordable. I also wondered how much pressure you had to exert on that? You need to lay the onion down. You had it to tall. Practice makes perfect! Patience! You are making it harder than it is. You just need to drop in each part you want to use. I don't know why you had it upside down. It's really not that hard. Maybe you need to purchase a larger chopper for your needs. Make sure your cheese doesn't sit out and get soft. You can use a brush to clean it out. Not has hard as you seem to make it.

Ive worked in restaurants for years and used restaurant style versions of this product. When ever we put veggies in the contraption, we always started the veggie on the blade. In other words, you don't just set it on the blades, you actually start the cut and it only took an 8th of an inch. Try starting the veggie into its cut. A lot of skin are very tough. Even on restaurant grade cutter we can bend the blades if not used properly.

How do you get the container off of the gadget?
@heatherdaniels-kellar18794 жыл бұрын
I really love little gadgets like that. But it seems that this Nutri chopper crushes more than gives straight cuts, so and maybe the blades aren't sharp enough? I noticed you had a very easy time with the Roma tomatoes because they have thicker skin and they are a firmer tomato, but I love making salads and I made them three or four times a night. I usually chop my lettuce if it's all going to be eaten in the same night so it doesn't rust on the edges, but I also like to add a lot of goodies like hothouse cucumbers, radishes, carrots, Persian cucumbers, peppers, you know all the good stuff! The best vegetable slicer I've ever had is a professional mandolin. Now to be honest… I lost a couple fingertips using that thing LOL! And I also love mushrooms and I found the greatest kitchenAid brand egg slicer for hard-boiled eggs works like a dream on fresh mushrooms! So would you recommend this to someone who is kind of picky about keeping veggies the same size in a salad or stirfry, or would you recommend something higher end. Either way your video was educational and I enjoyed watching it. But would you buy it again? And PS… Even though my mandolin is awesome, I still can't figure out how to dice potatoes LOL! So maybe you can give me a tutorial on that? I like your videos and you're pretty cute :)
@Jeffreviews4u4 жыл бұрын
I found that the vegetables with thick skin were a lot easier to cut. The disadvantage was having to cut the vegetables into small pieces to get them to fit in the chopper. I like to eat salads but sadly I'm still in the market for a good chopper. I wouldn't trust myself with a mandoline - I'd end up losing my finger tips too - haha. I would not rebuy this item. I am looking for a little nicer chopper. Thanks for your kind words and for taking the time to comment.

I've also been looking at buying a professional Hobart meat slicer. They're very expensive, even used, so I was wondering what you would suggest to get a decent meat slicer that doesn't have to break the bank, but will slice your deli paper thin? When prime rib goes on sale, I usually buy a 10 pound one, cook it to absolute perfection, and then slice up a couple pounds after it's been in the fridge for a couple of days. And I just found out that you can actually freeze cooked prime rib! How awesome is that?! I'm just one of those chicks who wants a big ass roast beef sandwich at like 4 o'clock in the morning along with a really good pickle! I love food!

I could get it to work if I chopped the items up small enough...in my opinion that defeats the purpose. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hes not holding it right. Theres a way you have to place you thumb & fingers when you close it that makes a difference.

Jeff, Thank you for saving me money. I will NOT be buying this one. Hubby was right. It doesn't work like they show on TV.

If it was a little larger I could see the use in this product. As it it was no good. Dare I say it was a bit "annoying" - ha. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

@@fran7562 hey there. It does cut different veggies. The problem I had was the size I had to cut the items in order to get it to work...don't get me started on the cheese. Sounds like you're hard at work making an impressive salad. Thanks for sharing your experience with this product.

You are putting way to large of pieces in there ,cut a little smaller portions and it works perfect. Why its so hard for you to see that is not good,try using your head a little more.
@Jeffreviews4u4 жыл бұрын
I get what you are saying, but if I cut them any smaller I might as well just chop them up. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Seriously look at the commercial again, you're making it look harder than it seems.. here's a tip, the wider your claw mouth is the harder it cuts so position the vegetable or whatever your cutting so that the mouth isn't so wide open and makes for quicker cleaner cuts with less force exerted.. and do try when using the container to cut the thing ON flat surface than trying to do it mid-air.. physics.. all physics.,

This chopper is a good idea but way too small...a little larger and I'd be sold.

It's a piece of junk. Just got it and as I tried opening it the handle broke. So in the garbage it goes before I even try it. Just watching your video made me throw it away! The only thing to salvage is, I will save the little container. May be able to use it for something. Ugh!

I just remove the covers to my oscillating fan, place a bowl underneath, toss my veggies at the blades and bazinga! 😎 ...just a fyi, it doesn't work with a steak. Hahaha

Try slicing a potato. The potato was almost impossible to slice, it crushed my tomatoes, and ended up in the trash. Bottom line, don’t waste your money. Use a knife.
@Jeffreviews4u3 жыл бұрын
you're right, using a knife is easier...I'm still on the lookout for a good slicer. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
