Thanks for all your informative videos! I started low carb 6 weeks ago and added intermittent fasting about 3 weeks ago. I'm already down 20 pounds with about 60-70 to go. Edit: I'm almost never overly hungry anymore. It's more like I'm hungry but it's ok if it's not time to eat yet. I never used to be able to do that.

I definitely agree with the hyper palatable foods - for me this includes meals that are healthy and balanced with what my body needs, so I keep on eating because it is so good. I have to really watch my portions as I will eat as much as my husband (he is the cook by the way!), so that is been my downfall lately. It really has become a portions games, as long as what you are putting in is good, Whole Foods with enough protein. Thank you for your information and easy to understand explanations.

Hi Autumn! I am new here and super excited to try this. Question for you. Can I eat eggs and a apple for breakfast instead of berries? Berries really bother my stomach. Is a apple too high in carbs for breakfast? Or can I have eggs with cheese and veggies and a very small cup of oatmeal (1/4 cup that’s 12g carbs)? And when I say oatmeal I mean just oats and water nothing else added. I have found that the oatmeal helps control my acid reflux so well and allows me to take my medications in the morning without nausea. Will wither of these negatively impact me? Any advise is so appreciated as I really want to succeed. Also congratulations on your pregnancy!

Hi Autumn! How do I know if I’m caffeine sensitive? I love coffee (3cups per day) and sometimes I drink it in the afternoon. Should I decrease it or manage to drink it by noon. Thank you!
@AutumnBates
@AutumnBates Жыл бұрын
I would take a look at sleep quality. If your sleep quality isn't up to par, then you can experiment with decreasing caffeine amount. A few ways to know that you're getting high quality sleep is that you wake up feeling rested (not groggy/tired), you don't wake up multiple times throughout the night and you don't have a difficult time falling asleep.

Bear in mind that consuming high palatable foods let's say on specific occasions for instance let's say Christmas or Easter or any other (you name it) won't screw you up if you get back on track the next day. For me, such days are Christmas, Orthodox Easter which is about to occur, New Year.
@ShellTay32

I agree. If I try and skip out of really enjoying holiday food, like at Christmas, I just feel angry and sad. One day won't end you. I find even 2 or 3. I just need to jump back on the band wagon ASAP

One day I’ll have the confidence to dive in. I’m slowly stocking my pantry with the good stuff. Coconut oil, apple cider, protein powder (not yours sadly but flavoured with stevia at least), slowly not replacing other stuff like Panko bread crumbs, cows milk etc. My gut (the triplets as they’re known as 😂) are nervous but I’m feeling good so far just by stocking up 👍

I switched from 18 hour fasts to 16 this week to try and get more protein. Instead of 2 meals, I'm eating 3. Amd because the meals are so satiating I feel stuffed at the end of the day, like I am getting too much food.😢 Should I go back to 2 meals and try to to get 50 grams of protein at one sitting? Perhaps combine my breakfast with my lunch? For instance, a protein smoothie with eggs and veggies? Or cottage cheese with a grilled chicken salad? It feels counterintuitive to eat more than my body needs and I feel best with 2mad but then my protein intake suffers.

Ok...I was skeptical about the "carbs are bad for breakfast". I DON'T usually want eggs to break my fast. Instead, I was eating oatmeal with protein and fat. Annnnd, my weight did not change, even though I was doing everything else "right". I finally caved and started eating one of your high protein porridge recipes (almond flour, protein powder, chia, hemp, flax, greek yogurt and berries). I'm eating MORE food, but my weight is noticeably dropping.

Hi autumn, so I just calculated my protein intake which should be about 65 grams. And I just noticed that my morning smoothie pretty much cover it. I use a serving on f Greek yogurt and collagen peptides and nuts and hemp seeds. It almost covers my protein intake. My problem now is what do I eat for lunch..?
@mamokamika4212
@mamokamika4212 11 ай бұрын
Check calculation again. If 65 g of protein is your daily protein need -3 meals - 22g protein each meal. You can try the following: Smoothies 1 scoop of protein powder - 15g (2 scoops 30g protein per serving- check package for more info - you need more or less if your protein powder is different.) + enough Greek yogurt to make total 22 g, add 1 cup of nut milk and flax seeds, 1/4 c of frozen berries Or protein pancake 1 egg (6 g of protein) 1/2 frozen banana 1 scoop protein powder (15g of protein) Splash of vanilla extract Butter to cook Top with 1/4 c cooked frozen berries Lunch: 1 oz of cooked chicken = 8-9 g of protein (you need a little less than 3 oz) … So on You get the idea.

How can you claim your videos are science-backed and then say that reducing/curt certain foods can make people loose belly fat. Whether you store more or less fat around your belly is dependent on your genetics or hormonal imbalances. It’s not dependent on specific food sources… that being said, I don’t disagree with these tips - but they are simply for loosing fat, it’s not body part specific. There’s no need to mislead people.
@AutumnBates
@AutumnBates Жыл бұрын
Your statement on hormonal imbalance is correct - which directly applies to food. You can find numerous studies linking high insulin spiking foods/diets to increased visceral fat. You can also find the reverse - people reducing their glycemic load and visceral fat decreasing. Insulin is a hormone as well.
@eli19151
@eli19151 Жыл бұрын
@@AutumnBates of course there are, when you’re loosing fat, that’d be including around the belly, for some people that might be more, for some that might be less fat around the belly, based on where they naturally store fat. Not to mention study subject have historically been predominantly male, who tend to store more fat around their bellies and also tend to loose fat quicker than females. I’m not here to argue, just think it’s misleading to say stay away from certain foods to specifically loose belly fat when that is simply not the case. This can set some ignorant teen with high expectations which might have little to no results then end up cutting more and more foods to desperately see some results. Like my sister did, who ended up eating nothing but lemons for months until she lost her period and luckily got scared enough to start eating again. All because she naturally stores fat predominantly around her belly and read a lot of misleading information.
