But how does the GTX 670 perform at gaming in 2018?
Today I benchmark the GTX 670 at 1080p in 10 demanding titles to see if Nvidia's GTX 670 is worth buying in 2018?

This GPU actually surprised me and I could quite happily live with this and a sandy/ivy bridge processor if I had limited funds for a budget gaming PC. I may put this in build in a later episode with an ivy bridge processor to see if there's much difference.

i have classic gtx 670 and Assassin's Creed Origins wiht medium settings work wiht 30-35 fps ... not bad

I've actually build a gaming pc for my GF using some of my old parts, i7 2600K at 4.25 Ghz, MSI Gtx 670 PE and 8 gigs at 1600 Mhz for arround 200-230 € She's gonna enjoy her birthday i guess :D

farcry games run awesome in gtx 670 sli ,no stutter or anything ,and i use the s,ame 8gb ram kit i bought in 2011 ! and i use ivy bridge i5 lol

At my local recycle station i found an computer, missing only an grafic card. The cpu was an old I5 2500 @2.80ghz. Since i had an GTX 670 laying i put it in that computer and gave it away to an buddy of mine. Later when we played COD WW2 and battlefield 1 on that rigg i was really suprised on how well the games ran.

I would say of course yes, cuz I had it since 5 years ago, and it make me turn all games with very good quality, and sometimes with ultra and higher graphics even in newest games, I think the GTX 670 is a beast as graphic card. It just stoped working for me last month, I don't understand why but I think it died :( RIP my gtx 670 I love you...you did a great job, most of the games on my youtube channel are captured with the GTX 670.

Furkan Eser Demir should be fine, as long as it's not a no name rubbish PSU. EVGA, Corsair, Seasonic anything like that are all very stable cheap PSU's.

I enjoyed your video and comparison Twisted Skinz. I'm about to get my hands on a MSI GTX 760 oc model to upgrade since new graphics cards are way to expensive. Since owning a few Kepler cards in the past.. My examples: GTX 680, 660, and GTX 760 I'm confident and patiently waiting for better value when prices come down.

The kepler family was very powerful and way beyond their time. Even until this day I took out my 1070 and popped in my old ftw 670 and all i can say is wow. Its still has its mojo.. Thanks nvidia for not letting that family down.

I like the presentation of the video, I think you have a very sympathetic voice and precise and informative facts. ABO! Frankly, I am impressed that the GTX 670 is 10% faster than my "new" R9 270X 2GB. My Potato Masher consists of a Ivy i5-3470 3.4GHz, 8GB DDR3-1333MHz single channel and no disk drive or SSD, absolutely only the bare minimum. I play on a 16:10 (60Hz) monitor and that's why I opted for the 2GB variant, I have no problem with just using the medium textures/shadows as long as I can play on native resolution at 40+ FPS. The card cost 70 € / 61 £ / $ 86, as much as a GTX 760. The reason why I watched this video, I wanted to know how strong other graphics cards are in the price segment.

Wow what an awesome video! My son has a 7870 for his pc which is mainly for Fortnite. Cost around 35 pounds. But only Nvidia do auto highlights so found a 670 for 30 pounds on guntree and wondeting whether to get it or not. His birthdsy not til November so might be more options by then but tempted! Thanks

I had this in my first build and got it at CEX for around £65 when I didn't even have a PC of my own even.. it was the exact same card you showed and I've seen some eBay buyers sell them in bids for over £70-100. I assume it's a rare-ish card and it is still great. I would have still used it now if I hadn't got a palit 1060 6 GB and then an MSI 1070. I've managed to find the same card on eBay for £60 posted and the single fan one for £40 (£35 and £5 postage) on Facebook so I'll look at doing a test in SLI just to see how well I can push these cards. Only issue is I don't have an SLI bridge besides the one that came with the MSI 1070 and it seems to be only 1. Otherwise I'll use them for a budget build or give one to my dad since he's using a GTS 450 still.

Let me include that I wouldn't even mind playing on low settings regularly, but in order to hit a consistent 40 I have my 3D resolution set to 400x360!

Just bought one on ebay for £50 to put into my, now get this, 10 year old gaming pc I built to play Crysis back in 2007 - 2008 on a Q6600. I’ve picked up a gtx 560 ti and a gtx 750 ti and played on pretty much enthusiast settings, some cvar juggling involved, with intense scenes hitting the low 20’s fps. Hoping I can get low 30’s with this one though I know the CPU and ram are bottle necks 🤞

i refuse to upgrade RAM or GPU in my PC since 2013, for a few reasons ( PC games dont look any noticeably better than console versions anyway ,even if they do they perform like shit ,and the prices of hardware is so shit i wont let vendors take my money ) only reason i still PC game on my old PC is for the mouse keyboard controls on FPS

I have this GTX-670 card, but it's EVGA's 4GB Superclocked version, and it actually runs a lot of games fairly well at 4K resolution(!) (3840x2160, displayport 1.2), and they look great on my LG 27UK600-W IPS monitor. But when I game I usually set the display to 1080p. My CPU is an i7-2600 (4C/8T, 3.4 - 3.8 GHz) which is more than adequate (i don't overclock). 16 Gb DDR3-1600 (CL9), and a couple of PNY CS1311 240 GB SATA3 SSDs.

my 1st rig had a 3570k 4.84ghz + EVGA gtx 670 FTW 4gb + 8gb ddr3 1333mhz when i 1st placed borderlands 2 at 3x 1080p 60hz ultra with physx and got 45-60fps butter smooth i knew what PCMR was about consoles can still barely get 60fps in most games unless AAA and made by microsoft (think forza series)

I have two of the 4 GB GTX 670 and don't have any issues on anything I've pushed at them. They work well enough for what I need and I can overclock them if I desire.

The best part of this card is it’s price to performance. I’d wager that even today (late 2019), you’d be hard pressed to find another card that offers a better frame-per-dollar value. I picked up one for my 2nd system for dirt cheap and it works well. It’s biggest competition would be the Radeon 7950, which has probably aged better, but tends to cost a bit more.

I bought this card in 2013. Still using it, but with all kinds of new games coming out, I'm considering replacing it, along with my i5 chip and 16 gb of DDR3 1333 mhz ram. put a bid on a gtx 1070, will see what happens.

/threadnecro - For 1440p it's a tough one. With 2GB RAM it is somewhat limited, but games are still playable. I do play older titles (3-4yo ones), on i5-4570K@4GHz, but I haven't had any problems with performance on medium setting. The only issue is World of Warcraft - but this one is still CPU heavy, even on latest engine changes.

I have both card in my computer at this moment and I can tell you it would be pointless to go 660ti sli to 670 these days. Sure, my MSI 670GTX (oc by MSI) smoke my evga 660 but your setup is good enough to hold until the new Geforce cars arrival and price drop on the 1060-1070. If you can afford around 100-150$ cheap 670 (single or sli), you better spend 250-300$ for something much better.

I still have my 670 I bought shortly after release. It's snuck up on my as to how long I've had it. I'd certainly never recommend people buy hardware that old... but it's had good legs. I could'a/should'a would'a got in on the 10xx series 2 years ago... but now after being out for 2 years... it seems foolish to drop money on it when 11xx is around the corner. I plan on upgrading then as it is showing it's age. Its been a heck of a run from a 760 GT to 8800 GTS to 260 GTX (then SLI) to 460 GTX (to SLI) and now to 670 GTX (to SLI). It's been the longest I've gone between upgrades. Sticking to 1080 resolution has given it legs it would of otherwise not had.

2000 series so far is shit 2080 ti is 5% faster than titan Xp, costs more, has 1gb less vram, uses more power, has less OC headroom, and is physically bigger and the titan V is 50% faster than the 2080 ti and has 12gb of vram and costs 3000$ USD kek

i would recommend a titan Xp, i have had mine for a month. went from a MSI gtx 1080 ti FE i got on launch day to titan Xp because i fucked up thermal pasting the EVGA hybrid cooler and considering it took 3 days to do the process 50% i was frustrated the titan Xp can ultra out any game, and has that magical 1gb of extra vram that pays dividends random example but blops 4 at 1440p ultra with low AA and no motion blur gets 170fps avg and uses over 11gb of vram....chances are any 2080 ti owner will be running at least 1440p with those same settings and their FPS would get crippled if they went over the limit

i had the 4gb version in my 1st proper PC with a 3570k 4.84ghz + 8gb ddr3 1333mhz when i 1st got it i booted up borderlands 2 on 3x 1080p 60hz ultra and got 45-60fps and it was absolutely buttery meanwhile look at the consoles of the time hehe :)

Tell me man how would gtx670 2gb version(which I still have) perform with ryzen 1600x,Asus strix b350-f and 16gb ram kit 2400-3200mhz..I'm planing to buy that cpu,ram,mobo.Pls give me some advices and tips.....And great video man just what I was searching for.

TBH it's probably going to be very similar to the results you see here. The 1600X is a little behind the IPC of the i5 6600K @ 4.6GHz but with the exception of PUBG (which runs better on Intel) you'll probably only lose a few FPS on all the titles. For example I would imagine Deus Ex Mankind Divided would average 43FPS compared to the 46FPS from the i5. Hope that helps buddy.

I have Gigabyte GTX 670 as a GPU and Focusrite Scarlett as an audio interface, all on Asus Prime B350 Plus but my audio often crashes, especially in older games which have some native lag... people on Focusrite support told me it's the GPU driver which responds slowly and crashes the audio driver, can it be true? Which driver is the best for this card? There are countless ones, I tried many and I never hit one which would solve the problem. And I haven't met anybody with the issue similar to mine so I feel quite lost...

I am still using an EVGA 670 FTW max everything, lol. I am playing Overwatch right now on Ultra at 60fps. My fortnite is running higher to at 72 fps

mine was an EVGA 670 FTW 4gb hehe when i got mine a few months after launch the 1st thing i did was play borderlands 2 on 3x 1080p 60hz screens on ultra with physx...and it was total butter with 45-60fps, same results on just cause 2 and the consoles at the time (ps4/xb1) played borderlands 2 remastered at 1080p not ultra and mostly 30fps because of their shit processors lmfao

wow i got 2 gtx 670 wind force x3 they run at 76 Celsius max under full load stress test. and they are overclocked 100+/300+

my EVGA gtx 670 FTW 4gb hit 72c max, and paired with my 3570k 4.84ghz + 8gb 1333mhz ddr3 it ran borderlands 2 at 3x1080p 60hz ultra with physx at 45-60fps meanwhile consoles today can't do 1080p 60fps ultra smooth on most games unless heavily optimized lol

The Swede Cuber when ever I get problems the first thing I do is use DDU (display driver uninstaller) and do a clean install of the latest driver. I'm assuming you've already tried that?

I bought the MSI B350 Mortar and haven't had any problems since I updated the BIOS to the latest version. I've also heard many people recommend the Gigabyte B350 for reliability and ease of use , if you don't want/can't update the BIOS then that would be my recommendation for a smooth ride on Ryzen.

I got the 4gb one for around $450 u.s in 2012. I stupidly sold it thinking I was getting a good amount and that ill wait a little for the price to fall. The price had barely fallen before the botcoin mining boom. Anyone know why?

considering that on launch the base ps4/xb1 lost to a fully underclocked gtx 480, then any gtx 670 at stock voltage would blow away the consoles by huge margins trust me my 1st rig i buit myself 6 years ago had a 3570k 4.84ghz + EVGA gtx 670 FTW 4gb + 8gb ddr3 1333mhz when i booted up borderlands 2 at 3x1080p 60hz ultra with physx and got 45-60fps i knew what PCMR was about :D nearly 6 year old top shelf comp rapes consoles hard and long, and they are still relevant wheras the ps4/xb1 need insane optimization to run anything, so games are getting more beautiful but less deep engine wise :/

I manage to get a stable 60+ FPS in all the games you listed on high presets too in payday 2 I have everything maxed apart from the corpse limit cause that would just duck my pcs ass but yeah 300fps or so uncapped on stealth around a 100 stable on loud jobs so if you are wanting to get a great card get this one but be sure to the 4fb one 😂 note it out performs all the gtx 1050 ‘‘tis so don’t waste your 200 or so pounds on a pointless purchase

Bro I shit you not this card is so good. I downgraded from my 1070 because I wanted to sell it before the amd 3000 series dropped and pulled my 670 out of my closet. And damn i don't even miss my 1070 . Not as good as 1070 but still gets the job done lol

Jasper Uy Yes maybe even better as my GTX 670 didn't overclock that great and the Direct CU2 cooler is a good one. I recommend at least an i5 from sandy/ivy bridge or Ryzen 3 1200 to make sure the 670 can hit it's potential.

Jasper Uy FX 6300 will be a slight bottleneck with the GTX 670 as it's around 35% slower IPC than sandy/ivy bridge/Ryzen. However this will depend on what game your playing and won't be noticeable on GPU heavy titles, more CPU dependant titles the 0.1% lows will more than likely be a bit lower though and average FPS maybe 10% less at a guess.

ProtonicPie There was no pop-in when I played Prey. But please bear in mind I always benchmark the same area at least 3, sometimes 6 times to give you guys accurate results, so there is a possibility I missed it on the first benchmark. Other tech tubers have reported texture pop in with other cards but these where 1GB or 1.5GB cards from what I've seen.

GTX 670 is on pair with GTX 1050 or even slightly faster so for less money GTX 670 is a better choice. But GTX 1050 uses less power and it's colder...

@@da_pawz you'll do well, actually the Phenom II x6 1055T have 4962 in passmark and the fx 6300 processor have 6387 in stock (3,5Ghz) but you can do overclocking and reach over 7000 in pasmark easily, even if your motherboard allows it, reach in performance to fx 8350 in stock and pair it with a gtx 1060 3GB, however I recommend you use the fx 6300 with the gtx 670 because you will get a balanced update of the components

If your gaming @1080p or less, The 670 is just as good as the 1060, there's NO difference in (viewable) performance at all. I don't know anyone who games @4K, but if you do, then the 1060 has a slightly higher pixel-rate which may help at higher resolution. -BUT, you'll lose so many fps/Hz, that gamimg @2K/4K is just plain dum: -> --kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m86mrZaas57UoGhg.html-

sincan alex Gtx 670 2GB perform closer to Gtx 960 2GB. Running Metro Last Light on Max Setting with i7 3770 and 8GB Ram, get 55fps and stable. One day i sell my Gtx 670, then i bought Radeon R9 380 2GB Msi OC Edition, Running same game and sams settings, only get 45fps and sometimes drop to 14fps. I don't know why, but on a papper, Radeon R9 380 2GB more better than Gtx 670 2GB. Now, i sell my R9 380 and get back the Gtx 670.

pupung candra priambodo GTX 670 > GTX 950 > GTX 750TI (IMHO) Jika Power Consumtion jadi pertimbangan, pilih Gtx 960. Gtx 960 sedikit lebih powerfull dibanding Gtx 670, dengan konsumsi daya yg lumayan irit. Gtx 960 (120Watt) vs Gtx 670 (170Watt).

So true, I am still waiting for 4k 60 FPS standard at max settings for any game. I'm willing to spend $2k+ for a computer, but 2080ti and even the 2080 is too high with not enough performance gain. I'll stick with my 670 until the 21XX series in 2020.

He is taking an outdated graphics card (gfx), and putting it into a computer with expensive components. That will show us what you are actually capable of getting out of your old gfx in optimal circumstances. But that is not interesting to the guy who will concider buying this card. He will most likely find most interest, in seeing what he can do with this card, if he combine it with components in the same price range, because that is what he can afford. If he could afford high end components, he wouldn't be buying this gfx to begin with.

I can afford a titan, 1060, 1080, also 680 pair and 670 and choose to be on asus 670 now with updated parts as I like to see what I can get out of "Old graphics cards" for the money in this crazy market with the mining versus as you said the entire lot of parts.... I prefer to push the GPU mostly...
