NYMR - Launch of J27/P3 in LNER livery. J27 No 65894 repainted to P3 No 2392 for its 100th Birthday

The launch of J27 / P3 in LNER livery on the NYMR. Outshopped from North Road Works in Darlington by the LNER on 19th September 1923, to commemorate its centenary as P3 No 2392. It arrived in Pickering hauling a goods train, prior to its subsequent departure on the 10:55 service train to Grosmont.
00:00 - P3 No 2392 at Levisham Sidings with the freight set
01:25 - P3 No 2392 on the up main at Levisham
02:34 - P3 No 2392 waiting to depart Levisham with the 09:40 to Pickering
02:53 - 9F No 92134 passes the P3 at Levisham
03:20 - P3 No 2392 waiting to depart Levisham with the 09:40 to Pickering
03:47 - P3 No 2392 departs Levisham with the 09:40 freight to Pickering
04:52 - P3 No 2392 propels the freight set into Pickering Carriage shed
06:06 - P3 No 2392 propels the freight set into Pickering Carriage shed
06:30 - P3 No 2392 in Road L at Pickering Carriage shed
07:02 - P3 No 2392 shunts from Road L to Road 2 to collect the 10:55 set and Western Saloon
08:48 - P3 No 2392 arrives at Pickering with empty coach set for the 10:55 service
09:32 - P3 No 2392 at Pickering Station
09:46 - BR Standard 4 No 80136 arrives at Pickering with P3 No 2392 banking
10:47 - P3 No 2392 approaches Beck Hole with the 12:40 from Grosmont to Pickering
13:08 - P3 No 2392 passes Moorgates with the 12:40 from Grosmont to Pickering

I had a great day today, riding behind the J27 during her 100th Birthday, pity I missed the ceremony in Pickering, oh well, I still had a wonderful day today. Cannot wait for the 50th Anniversary Steam Gala from Thursday until Sunday. 😄

That's how it should be preserved; in its original livery with its original classification of P3, as should the Q6, it's an NER T2...

Hey mate, I'm spending my week's caravan holiday in North Yorkshire with my Grandma, I've been riding behind 2392 today, she's a beautiful locomotive. Plus, I'll be attending the NYMR's 50th Anniversary Steam Gala from Thursday until Sunday. You should make a This Is Your Life Episode about the J27 No.2392 in the future, possibly 2024. What would have really made things great. Would have had the 2 21 ton hoppers as runners too and in the goods train right behind 2392. I know they have wooden frames which would possibly go against there regular use as runners.

@@callumthornelow2936 Yes, it would! That was the only thing that ruined their centenary for me. That and the fact that no plans have been made to reunite her with her second tender which is still in Margate in LNER Garter Blue and behind Bittern

@therailtourer The second tender belongs to LSL which they're restoring to running order for use on the mainline. The only chance of pairing it with F.S again would be if she was registered with LSL, Not just WCR.
