Hey Geoff. We are so glad that you have had some welcome rain! Great news about Miracle, a miracle indeed. Good to know of your winter plans for the barn, along with electricity, once you have one side boarded it will be much easier to work in over the winter and into lambing. Pity about the poultry lockdown- so the barn will also house waterfowl etc. over the coming months. The outside hutch/coops are being re -floored to extend their useful life. Tupping under way- we have that yet to come. 🐏 Thanks for this great catch up vid. Best. 🤓 🐶 🧔

Maybe very thin aluminium sheeting, laid on top of the wooden flooring in the hutches would help them to last indefinitely. It should stand up to even the acidic conditions and protect the wood beneath. Alternatively perhaps a thick coating, perhaps roof treatment (Polyurethane rubber paint I think) would also do the trick. Neither option very cheap but in the long run might pay for itself by making the wood last for years.

If you paint the osb board with like a gloss paint it will last longer and easier to clean, White gloss is best as you will be able to see if their are any mites etc in your coops aswell👍🏻
