I think the most amazing thing is that Noel was able to perform while he was so obviously infuriated with Liam. Noel showed so much professionalism here.

Despite loving both I would always consider myself ‘team Liam’ but I really feel for Noel at 2:14 he looks genuinely embarrassed and angry about Liam when he tells him to shut up.

Noel and the rest made this set as classic as it was.

I read an interview from Noel which was interesting as they know each other the most in the whole Planet,basically Noel said Liam thinks he isn't worthy or wasn't worthy of breaking America so sub-consciously self destructed it, but to Noels credit he is the ultimate professional, they're his songs and he nailed and put Liam in his place. Great performance truly.

As much as I want to hear what it would sound like with Liam, I think it’s almost a good thing he didn’t sing, as Noel had a chance to sing his own songs and just have a decent time. I reckon Liam intentionally self-sabotaged his own performance here, the magic in his voice comes from pushing it until it hits gravel, for that it needs to be loud, put simply he knew he'd sound wet trying to do those songs anything but full throttle and probably knew it the minute everyone started tickling 'unpluggedly' around him so conjured up some imaginary dissatisfation as an excuse to bow out and save face, this is probably why he sat at the back to get an idea how loud it actually was and being satisfied he wouldn't stand out as much a sore thumb as he initially thought he decides to retake his place, longterm legend is way more than any one performance for these guys, you do what you have to to navigate both, in this case L knew N had it default covered, knowing that like only a brother does allows L to be L, to be unfair is to say (should my ideas be anywhere near truth) this gig exposed L's limits as a singer, Kurt could pull it off, even singing softly he'd carry that appealing rasp, but to be fair (or even affording too much credit) this was a well dodged bullet, it caused a kerfuffle that we're still talking about it if not for the 'right reasons' - the crowd got a show the were happy with and Liam got to rockstar on artistically unstained

This was such a sad moment for Oasis. Noel deserved waaay more credit for performing so lovely, on last minute notice. I honestly believe Liam got cold feet - he isn't as confident as he likes to lead on....Noel has said that he was literally dying on stage....like, he wanted to die, he was so upset. Oasis could have been equally as big in the USA and it wasn't for Noel's lack of effort and determination...there were other "forces" at play that prevented that from happening.....

I guess Noel had to put up with those kinds of antics for years and years. That was totally unprofessional of Liam. He probably regrets it now, but then he was in his "tonite I'm a rock and roll star" kind of phase, which ironically meant he could't perform with his band or sing.

I love how Noel's fashions are always from the rack at Sears.

For everyone saying liam is a legend or liam is a clown, this was not about going all rock n roll bad boy; Noel said in an interview that after the gig Liam admitted he didn’t feel confident about singing in acoustic. He should have said it before committing to do the unplugged, but I guess Noel and everyone would have pushed him to do it anyway, so he decided to drink and act careless. Yes he may just seem cocky sometimes but it was not all about that...

His "shut up" was not for Liam as you can hear one lady in the audience said sorry.

it's just the liam that we all love.. for me the attitude is something that just made this megaband even more interesting. most bands have no personality at all, just boring as fuck.
