My dad and his mom ate OATMEAL cereal for breakfast 4 out of 5+ mornings their whole lives. My dad lived well into his 98th year of life. Grandma lived well into her 90s, but she was of German stock farm wife that worked hard from when she got up before dawn to milk the cows til well after dark 7 days a week. With milking cows there are no vacations. Gardening, canning, haying, driving tractors, etc, sewing, knitting, house cleaning, taking car of livestock, raising 4 kids, baking in a wood fired kitchen stove, laundry in a non-automatic washing machine after they got a machine…. The list goes on. Started working hard about when she started walking since she was also born on a farm here in Washington state. I think she finally wore out. Both had good health till their last couple years. Don’t be arrogant enough to knock OATMEAL .

Totally agree! Probably NOBODY that lived to 100 ever ate organ meat, fruit, and milk for breakfast or any other meal. He seems like he has orthorexia, which is a type of eating disorder where a person is obsessed with what they view as "healthy food." As you pointed out most people who live long lives eat plant based diets with small amounts of meat. The monks at Mt. Athos have an average life expectancy of 94, and are pesco-vegetarian. So clearly eating grains, beans, veggies etc... aren't gonna shorten your life.

1. Hong Kong has the longest national life expectancy of any country on the planet (85~86yrs). 2. They also consume the most meat of any country on the planet (200kg/440lbs per person per year). 3. That number isn’t even close to other countries, either. 2nd place is Iceland, and they eat 20kg less meat per person. In fact, Hong Kongers eat MORE meat and dairy than ever and yet their life expectancy continues to improve and lead the world. Despite the UN’s finger wagging.

@@nontologicalbeing 1. What is going on in hong kong is a recent phenomena. The old people there grew up eating very little meat, there are studies that show this. Meat consumption has skyrocketed in hong kong within the last 20 years. The 90 year olds that are alive now, when 60 plus of those years eating a low meat diet. Iceland eat primarily fish. The entire country lowed their heart disease risk by 80% in a little over 2 decade by switching away from heavy amounts of red meat to primarily fish, and it worked. And a country living long, could also be access to good medical care. The cancer rate it still fairly high in Iceland, but due to good medicine, people don't die from it that often. I love organic oatmeal for breakfast and oats are prebiotic so good for the gut. The only way to truly know what food you should or should not eat. You need to do an elimination diet by cutting foods out and then adding them back in. Once you remove all preservatives sugar and other garbage from your diet, your body will naturally crave the foods that it needs. I love blueberries, but there are times where I thought of eating blueberries does not sound good to me so I don’t eat them and I eat what my body craves. That could be steak, vegetables, fruits, or nuts and seeds or maybe even some other grains like rice. Having said that if you’re craving sugary foods, then clearly there’s a problem. For a while, I fell into the trap of listening to all the super foods and don’t eat this and don’t eat that until I finally learned the best way to do it is that elimination diet and then learning to eat intuitively.

@@blacksheeptocashcow I don't know anyone using Monster as pre-workout (not that it's relevant, as Paul is talking about breakfast only, which I had to point out to you). Paul is also making the assumption that everyone eating oatmeal has Monster with it. They don't. They likely have juice or maybe coffee. That would have had more merit than your anecdote / minority of people who are gym goers who, for some reason, drink Monster for breakfast 🤡

If there was a neutral or laugh option I could respond with I would. Can’t agree or disagree with what he’s saying about oats being BS. It depends on what brand you buy, your fitness goals, and if you’re eating them because of a health complication/issue. Age also plays a big role and when you’re young, bulking, have an ectomorph body type, overnight oats are your best friend and go to breakfast almost every morning if you’re not eating eggs with something else. This guy is takes great pride and cares about not gaining weight and staying in shape in his 40s, as he should be. In essence, everyone’s bodies, genetics, age , and fitness goals are different so your diet will be different from one another too. Do what works best for you.

Our ancestors allowed the seeds to sprout then soaked the grains. This broke down the toxins and the nutrients are readily absorbed. I love the carnivore diet to heal chronic health. However the Weston A. Price Foundation shines a light on true health. Carnivore is for warriors and survivalist. Homesteaders for healthy family and reproduction follow Weston a. Price. This man is a warrior

Soak oats overnight at room temperature in a mix of kefir, warm water, and ACV. In the morning, cook for 5-10 minutes with a pinch of salt. Serve with butter, cinnamon, and your favorite fruit. Easy peasy. Toss the energy drink, though!

The kefir will be ruined after heating the oatmeal. Add it after the oatmeal is cooked once it’s cool enough or you’ll destroy bacteria, enzymes ect

No! Oats have barely any phytase which is what breaks down phytates. You have to add certain grains that do contain them, like rye. What you do results in ZERO reduction in phytates…
@brettreynolds1976
@brettreynolds1976 2 жыл бұрын
@@jagd924Oats may be lower in phytase than other grains, but they are also lower in phytic acid: wheat has 7 grams of phytic acid per 100 grams, while oats have 0.4 to 2.2 grams of phytic acid per 100 grams. Soaking DOES activate the phytase in oats, and the addition of ACV and/or lemon juice DOES help neutralize the phytic acid. As well, adding kefir allows for fermentation, which can further help, as does cooking the oats. So I wouldn’t say that what I recommend does NOTHING to reduce phytic acid. I agree that adding a small amount of a complimentary grain with more phytase (perhaps 10% complimentary grain to 90% oats) CAN be beneficial in further reducing the phytic acid, though I wouldn’t say it’s absolutely necessary. Phytic acid, in small amounts, has actually been shown to have some health benefits, so, like everything else (including meat), just eat your oats in moderation. 👍

He's wrong about phytic acid being bad. Though it can impair zinc absorption, here are some of its benefits: - it is an antioxidant - reduces inflammation - induces autophagy - has potential for treating multiple cancers - reduces blood glucose levels - it is neuroprotective - reduces triglycerides and increases high-density lipoproteins (hdl) - repairs dna - increases bone mineral density - protects human skin from uvb exposure - can protect the gut from toxins - helps prevent kidney stones - binds to heavy metals, mycotoxins, uranium, iron, manganese - decreases uric acid/helps gout - it is anti-hiv - increases the bioavailability of flavones

Yeah, and phytic doesn't block 100% of nutrients anyways. And the things with phytic acid are so nutrient dense anyways, does it matter if a small portion of the nutrients get blocked?

Also according to the Harvard study 'Are Anti-Nutrients Harmful' cooking, soaking overnight in water, sprouting (germination), fermentation, and pickling can all break down phytic acid. And even if it doesn't break down ALL of the phytic acid (which there's no current evidence if it doesn't break it all down), phytic acid can prevent damage on DNA cells and cancer cell growth.

Yep, phytic acid is very healthy. Fortunately foods containing phytic acid also contain good amounts of zinc. Refined grains are more associated with lower blood levels of minerals than whole grains in the studies comparing both.
