I don't know how to explain it but I hope you can understand that in 2016 trump campaigned about helping lower income people, and although he hasn't followed through on that he did help some lower income people a bit. Some people still have some hope in him since some low income families are benefited by his policies. I personally prefer Obama, but there are reasons for some groups of people to vote for trump. Out of necessity and not opinion.

I voted for Trump. I care about results and he delivered, big time, despite awful personal behaviour (which cost him the election). We had the opposite with President Obama. I hoped he would improve personally, but he didn't. So I focused on results. Many Republicans broke, and opted to vote against him. They will vote for a Republican candidates next time. Although I think personal behaviour cost him the election. And rather than him seizing the pandemic to show his caring side, as all disasters give Presidents and Governors that opportunity, he missed the opportunity. By the 3rd quarter, United States' GDP is indeed 3.5% lower than November of last year (2019). But by the end of the year we can restore the GDP to the January 2020 level. In a year were the whole world put their economies in a coma to deal with the virus. Other countries --(like the ones in Europe) wouldn't even dream of such quick recovery. He's push to reopen paid off. And we have lower death-ratio than Europe. Trump's elections-night press conference was stunningly terrible. He appears to have fought a good fight against all odds. And may lose the Electoral College by smaller margin than we expected. Republicans gained seats in the House and added to their majority in the Senate. So Trump didn't impact them. Trumpism can be said to add 3 conservative Justices to the Supreme Court, and 52 in Circuit Courts. That's a big deal. His foreign policy team's realism on the Middle East brought Israel and Gulf Arab nations together, and Palestinians realized other countries will not hold-off normalization for the sake of their unrealistic wishes. Let's not forget the border security and asylum system abuse that he ended. Now that he's on his way out, it's safe to say, for Republicans and Conservatives, he is a net-positive in results. Questioning the count without evidence is stupid and it hurts America as whole.
