Bought this off Deutche Auto Parts for my B7 A4 and I love it. I can throw it in my glove box and pull it out when I need it. Can't do as much coding as with your wife's Tiguan mostly because it's 2005 technology. But I was able to add the remote windows, seat belt chime delete, and door chime delete. I also was able to switch my headlights to Euro Mode which means I can have fog lights on with the high beams and my turn signals don't illuminate when the headlights are on, unless I hit the turn signal stalk. Love this tool

Getting an Android dirt cheap is real. I was able to run to a local Rite Aid today and pickup a LG Optimus Fuel for $21 and it supports the app. So its honestly not that bad.

I've had an OBDeleven for a few weeks and it's working pretty well. I'm enjoying using the apps to change preferences on my Mk7 Golf. I've also been able to pull ABS and Airbag lites from my MkIII GLX. I haven't started to figure out any of the coding or how to manually change things, but you can get up to 6 free credits daily just for letting the app show you advertising. Most changes cost 10 credits, so with just a little patience, you don't pay anything. Reading diag codes is free.

Most of the guides for VCDS are detailed and it's the same steps for OBDEleven just make sure that you look at the numbers beside each option within the menu :)

One more aspect regarding credits....these are pre-assembled applications that are made for people who want a quick fix, and cant be bothered with going in and understanding the coding changes needed to make whatever you need to work....work. You CAN go into the coding and adaptations and make the changes yourself once you understand what elements need to be modified or changed. It really is not a big deal to do at all. For me, I used the internet forums to get a list of modifications and code entries. Once I understood what the coding did, I put it in and tested it, and it works. Apps again, cost money, not a lot if you are in a hurry. I bought some, and then for additional tweaks, I surfed the net, got the coding changes from various websites and forums and made the changes myself. Easy. On a final note, you DO NOT need the apps to perform the coding. It is a convenience only, as all options for coding can be done manually by you. BTW, I am not in any way associated with this product, I purchased it, and learned how to use it. All fear of VW coding is now a thing of the past for me. Paz, M

My favorite part is when you confirm it retracts the parking brake. this tool should help me when I change my rear pads for the track :)

I was lucky i got carista a few years ago and paid a one time lifetime price of £15 before they updated to the subscription and i still have full access for life. I also use carista all the time connected to Dashcommand on IOS for lap times, realtime torque, BHP, fuel consumption and alike. I really recommend carista.

Charles, thanks for the review. After viewing this (and going to DAP's site), I bought one to clear my air bag fault after my battery went dead a week or so ago - not only did it work fine for $55, I was able to turn on the comfort windows as well - bonus!!! Great tool, my '17 Jetta SE doesn't have as much configuration available via the dash as my '10 Jetta TDI, this helps close the gap.

Can this device/app be used for a specific coding? I'm in process of upgrading from halogen to bi-xenon headlights and I'll need do do some changes to the central electric module after the hardware installation. To be more specific, I'll need to enable and disable certain bits in certain bites such as deactivating the high beam, enabling the xenon headlights, the auto headlight levelling and headlight washer system. Can I use this device for this purpose or I want too much off a $60 thing?

Very useful. On my Audi A1 I have the rear parking sensors but not the front. With the fronts too, the visual aid on the main screen appears when reversing. With just the rear fitted this option is disabled. With this kit, I was able to activate the graphic of the car, with visual space being show. Very good. They started making the A1 in 2010 so I assume that this situation could be carried over to A3 etc of the same age. Very useful.

Is this able to change coding for headlight DRLs? I’ve installed LED “U” style lights and the DRL’s do not come on but all other aspects of the lights work. Think this would be able to get them working? Car is a MK6 Golf TDI

Great video.... Love your great videos. I'm considering getting one for my 2012 VW Bettle Fender edition. I have had quite a headache with my alternator not keeping voltage appropriately after accidentally installing a new battery late at night with the opposite terminals. SPARKS FLEW. Disconnected right away. Connected correctly. Had no issues until the morning. Started ok but 5 minute drive battery light went on. Anyways, I checked all fuses. None were blown, even the 200amp alternator one. I replaced the alternator, with voltage regulator; still not fixed. Voltage slowly drops and alternator only putting out 8V back to the fuse box. :(. I checked the wiring harness to the alternator 12.1V with ingition ON and 8ishV when vehicle running. I think my ECU might have an issue. Am I on the right track???? If I get a used ECU, does it need to be programmed by the dealer? Will this OBDeleven work to diagnose my ECU to confirm fault, or maybe direct me to something else I may have missed. Of note, I did check grounds. MUCH APPRECIATE your wise input.

Okay, very important question. I want to buy it for my EU Spec 2003 Passat B5.5. However, when I tried the software, I was interested in the Apps they offer. They only have oil change reminder. When I checked the Passat B6, it had things like DRL settings, blinker settings etc. Are these things available at all on the Passat B5.5s ?

Looks like a good tool to have, couple of questions does Deutsche Auto parts have this OBD11 that’s compatible with iOS yet? Will it do the following things: reverse EPB on Audi A4 2013 B8.5 and then reposition the brakes after a rear brake job? Will it prime the HPFP on a VW Jetta TDI 2013 mark 6 after doing a fuel filter replacement?

Recently bought an 2001 EV, love the van, always have. Did a bunch of research before buying one with 177k in need of timing chains. I have the elm27 and torque which is great, it allows me to keep an eye on vitals. But my main concern is, I'm sure you can guess, is the 01P!!! With this dongle and app, would be able to check for torque converter slippage and compare input and output speeds? Also, is there a dashboard feature, like Torque that allows you to monitor multiple sensors at one time, ie Transmissioun fluid temp?

Great Video. I am looking for the least expensive way to monitor my 2002 mk4 1.8T jetta and my brothers 2006 gti 1.8T. What scan tool, would u recommend that has most potential for under $150? Ive seen a few of ur videas on VCDS and just recently purchased an ANCEL 700 on amazon for $90 but im guessing its probably not the best option for our cars. Im looking to learn more on the coding and hopefully save some money. Keep up the great videos.

Just got the obdeleven for throttle body reset on 1999 VW Passat 2.8 because the battery was disconnected. I think this model has drive by cable. but the scanner is not working using 060 group or 098 . Am I doing it wrong?

Bought the vcds cable for £15 of ebay and work great u can do anything u able with £300 cable It conect everytime and work well With vw golf mk5 and vw touran 2010 and sure many others The best £15 I ever spend saving me 70 pound each time for diagnostic by dealer

I have a 2013 Jetta trendline with ac and heated seats. My car has no auto headlights and no fog lights. I want to buy a auto headlight kit and a fog light kit to install both of those. My light switch has the fat connector and my autoheadlight module kit would have the fat connector input on the light sensing module and outputs to the small connector for the new euro switch. Now my question is: when I would connect my fog light kit, would I connect into the pin 8 on the fat connector that goes into the auto headlight module, or would I connect it to the correct pin on the small connector that plugs right in to the new euro switch? Also would I need a trigger wire and what coding do I need to do with the obdeleven? I hope I explained everything correctly and thanks so much for your help!

the question might've already been asked and answered, this does long codes but does it do everything the VCDS VAGCOM does? also you can buy Android phone from pay per month kiosks and never activate, seen them for $15. I've been wanting someone to do this with the OBDeleven, thank you so much! have you tried this on a 2016 Passat with ACC? or a 2012 beetle?

Question I have...if I found someone that had one, they could make adjustments to my car, correct? I was told that you can adjust VWs overzealous traction control way down with this, and that's honestly the only change I want to make. Don't want to pay for entire thing just for that. so does it run off of wifi?? the shop where i work we have unlimited wifi for our "fancy" scan tools and otherequipment. or does is scan with out any connectivity? I do a lotlot lot of diag. and troubleshooting and i think this might be helpful in our shop. also can it read measured value blocks and tell you about how many times an engine mis fires??? I just wrapped up a three hour diag job on a 09 jetta with the 2.0 N/A in it. you know, the old one that has insufficient power for thatbig of a rig. i found myself having to hook up the scan tool and road test the vehicle to finally find that it was a problem with the wires and ignition coil.

You don't need to buy this to do that. You can use the app Torque with a cheap $6 Bluetooth OBD11 Dongle.

Hey man recently stepped into the vw game with a newly acquired mk6 gti, previous owner did a shotty S.A.I delete but never fixed the code. Would this scanner, with the pro functionality allow me to delete the code for said problem permanently?
