In this video we strip down and remove all of the engine control sensors, plugs, and wiring from the original 1996 OBS wiring harness to simplify, beautify, and make way for the new wiring harness which will power up and control out 5.3l LS harness. There are several different ways to go about doing this but this is how I went about doing mine. Your particular harness, truck might be completely different so I urge you guys to do your own research.
By simplifying the OBS harness we will remove all of the old V6 stuff while hopefully still retaining all of the vehicles factory functions such as cruise control as well as keeping all of our gauges and instrumentation working with our new wiring harness that powers the 5.3
I have already mentions this but Do Your Own Research and find pin outs and schematics for your exact make and year vehicle because as I found out while doing my research, there are several different wiring configurations throughout the years. Until this harness is installed in the truck and everything is working and functioning as it should, I will consider this harness still under construction.
