In this video we begin to strip down the engine control wiring harness for our LS Swap in our OBS GMT400 Chevrolet Silverado Short Box Step Side Pickup. I briefly discuss the different types of oxygen sensors used on certain GM models and we go over our plan of attack when it comes time to stripping down the LS wiring harness.
I personally see no reason to unwrap the entire LS wiring harness on this particular project. This is Not a show car and it’s more or less just being built for fun and learning the whole LS Swap process. So with that being said, I only partially removed the tape and the wire loom only to expose the business side of the harness that we will be using in out OBS GMT400 LS Swap. Once we thin out the LS wiring harness, we can then focus on merging the OBS Truck harness into the LS Swap harness.
My plan is to hopefully have everything appear as if the truck came from the GM factory with the 5.3 installed in is. Hopefully everything works out in the end and when I finally turn the key forward, the truck will fire right up and run like it should and all of the gauges will work as well.
