I went on a full day trip on Ocean Obsession.
Typo in the middle of the video: It should have said "Deckhands saying I used all of my luck on the Sheepshead"
- Food was exceptional as always
- I took live bait (Additional $35 that I didn't include in the total)
- I caught three pinfish on the dock and put them in the "Community live well" that's based on honor system: Take out what you put in. I lost two of the pinfish to other anglers. Pinfish I caught were abnormally large, so I knew the angler right next to me was using one of them, but he replied that he put them in there as well. There was no proof, so that was that. If you want to keep your bait to yourself, bring a live well.
- You cannot reserve spots in advance like Orlando Princess and stern spots are taken based on honor system (First people to arrive at the dock gets first spots - Usually the stern spots get taken first). I saw people cutting in line as we were boarding, but I was the fourth one to arrive at the dock around 6:15a and was still able to get a stern spot.
- I don't think that stern spots catch more fish. I personally think that it's easier to catch current and I don't have to reposition my rig often to prevent it from tangling. In the end, it's because I'm lazy, lol. You'll see hard core regulars fishing from the bow and the sides and out-catching people in the stern. Corner spots allow you to fish the side and the back, so that's why those spots get taken first.
- All in all, it was a great trip. I just wish there was more 'Honor' in the honor systems that are in place.
- I took a cobia, three mangrove snappers, and a lane snapper home
