@@emjenmaldonado I’m from south Florida too! The crime in NC is no where near the crime/hoods of Miami. Since moving to NC the natives have warned me of the crime and hoods and when I would go to these places it wasn’t as bad as they were making it to seem. But hey! Everyone has there own opinions.

I also want to add that NC roads are super nice! Considering Greensboro from Asheville but traveling around the south has made me realize how nice our roads actually are. Also to anybody else reading this…this video can be applied to most of NC

Note that the vehicle tax is based on the value of your vehicle. It typically goes down each year as your car gets older. It's an equivalent of personal property tax.
@LivingInGreensboroNC8 ай бұрын
This is true - so your taxes do get less and less - unlike your house that can be reassessed and potentially go up!

Im moving up in Aug from FL and we don’t have inspections on vehicles that are required. The only money we spend tax wise annually for our vehicles is getting a new sticker for our plate. Where would i go to get inspections?
@LivingInGreensboroNC2 жыл бұрын
We're excited to have you here! You can go to almost any gas station and they do an inspection for you. It's super easy! My local favorite is Steve's BP by Friendly Center. They are sweet and kind and it is close to where I live. You can also go shopping there when you are getting the car inspected!

So can you buy liquor in restaurants in WS, Kernersvill or Greensboro? Is liquor more expensive in NC? Why does gov even control this? Never have heard of this. I looked up some pics of liquor stores and they look like crapy gov post office buildings and getho. This sucks
@LivingInGreensboroNC2 жыл бұрын
You can buy liquor in stores, just not before 10. They changed the law!! Compared to MD and SC it costs more here. It’s just taxed more I guess? It’s weird.

Utah has alcohol restrictions too. I think it has something to do with the Mormons of Latter-day Saints rules. They kind of run the state. NC is the bible belt state. That may have something to do with the restrictions.

I’m a PA transplant who grew up in the country and I’ve lived in Greensboro for 8 years. I don’t know where the “buildings” comment is coming from unless it’s someone who moved from Philly or Pittsburgh. Secondly, route 40 which is the major highway going through 40 DEFINITELY has traffic, and people are horrible drivers. I live in a decent part of town, but I’ve had a gun pulled on me after a road rage incident and there is definitely a very dark and seedy side to Greensboro. Don’t get me wrong, I love living here, but downtown is beginning to have more crime and homeless issues and becoming a bit more unsafe every year. I also attended and graduated from UNCG as an adult student and there were multiple shoots just off campus. The school itself is nice but pushes extremely liberal ideology and as a moderate white male, made me feel very uncomfortable at times. Also, you can now buy liquor at 10 am on Sundays. Greensboro has a lot of great stuff to though. There are a lot of good people, it’s diverse, amazing food, etc.

@@345gibson No one is trying to change it. People move here because they love it. People should just be aware of what it is like here. If they don't like a slower pace of life, then they shouldn't move anywhere in the south for that matter.
