You have any issues with the point? I did. I broke or bent. I did re-sharpen it and fixed up the point a bit but I got a replacement. Odenwolf needs to revisit the tip and the heat treat on this blade. I used a JSWS folder in 440c and the tip test I performed did WAY better.

Hi my friend. I happened to see these knives on Amazon. I was looking for something for my go bag to keep in my car. The thought was that, if my car got broken into and my pack was stolen I, wouldn’t have to go through the additional pain of losing a prized expensive knife. When I saw the price in the $20 range I, wasn’t expecting too much in quality especially because like you I like razor sharp cutlery. The description of the knife says razor sharp which also heightened my suspicions. When a knife says razor sharp for the $20 range it was hard for me to believe. I ordered one anyway thinking that, for the price and return ability there wasn’t much risk. When the knife arrived I was pleasantly surprised, I did run it very lightly over a ceramic rod and brought it to the sharpness that I wanted. I was so pleased that I ordered another one in green. Both of these knives were flat grind. I looked up these knives on KZfaq and was happy to see someone that I trust reviewing this brand. Now I know it’s not my imagination , because of your demo. I think I’ll go back to order some scandi grind versions of these knives. Thanks again. As always, The 893

Two things I love about a Scandi grind: it bites into wood like no other grind out there. And it can make a budget blade seem like a higher priced blade by its performance. I have many budget Scandis and they all notch, carve, and featherstick like blades that ought to cost more. I do own a few Odenwolf knives but no Scandis yet. Very satisfied with their quality. This knife seems like a must buy for Scandi fans. Please keep including the wildlife fly-bys. They are very satisfying to watch.

It’s a very nice knife I have one. The one thing I don’t like how thin the tip is. But nothing that’s a deal breaker. This knife is really hard to beat. 440c was tippy top shelf steel not long ago. Something many don’t realize 440c is what other steels are judged by. When China flooded the market with fake clones everything was marked 440c. It destroyed the value so knife manufacturers changed steels. Steel choice is really just marketing. Anyway great video. You always find the gems. Plus showed 3 of my favorite brands.

Looks like a nice little knife at a nice price. With so many knife companies going higher and higher in price(a plain, base model Endura is nearly $100 now) it's nice to see some quality budget options still out there.

Great video! I've been watching this brand as well, and had the same thought about them jumping on the bushcraft wagon, and offering these new options. I intended on picking up the flat grind model to review, but the BSH3 had just dropped, and I couldn't help but grab it instead. Both new models are definitely on the list though! Ribs look good too! Thought I'd throw that in there. Always enjoy your reviews

There used to be a lot of small & medium size wildlife where I'm in the countryside but ever since a cell tower was installed back in 2019 there isn't much animals anymore.

Covering up won’t protect you from ticks, unless your clothes are treated with permethrin spray. It’s very bad here where I live and I can vouch for that stuff it works wonders just follow the directions. Check it out I use sawyer brand

Yeah that's a good knife I got the Bravo 1.5, I want the Bravo 2 and the Bravo 3, for a butcher's knife, Bark River doesn't put guidelines on their knives, so the edge bevel is horrendous, but the 1909 Michigan Bowie would be amazing and amazing butchers knife

This and the BPS Adventurer are pretty similarly sized and basically the same price. If you had to pick one knife only between the two, which would you pick? Thanks!

I would choose this one, although I do like BPS, I have 4 of their knives as well.

I have 2 BPS (Adventurer and HK5). Thermal treatment on blades is superb there. HK5 has most comfortable handle I ever tried. Adventurer handle less comfy but more versatile. The problem with all these carbon steel fancy knives with wooden handle and leather sheaths - they can rot, if left wet, uncleaned and forgotten.This is why I'm looking for more practical solution. Ordered Odenwolf black/silver scandi D2.

It has a very fine edge, so it could chip if it hit a knot, but I have been careful.

It's pretty easy, because Mora knives have been around for so long, people have found many ways to keep them sharp, some use sandpaper and strop. Some put a micro bevel on them.
