In this video, I will be discussing the Odm Evolution 9 footer custom built by Matt Hetterich of Eastern Rod Works. In addition, props to Saltwaters of West Islip for the pickup not only for this rod, but for all of my surf needs throughout the years.

Having Matt build me one for the spring. Try out a 10 foot nex1 man youll never pick up your lami again. I know they arent heavily marketed, but its a sweet rod. If you want I could let you try mine out. Thanks for the vids brotha

How you think the balance of this rod will be with a vsx2 200

What's the big difference between the 9ft genesis and this rod besides the price?

The genesis is a 2 piece rod. Evolution is a one piece construction that only comes as a blank in which you need someone to build it. I prefer one piece over 2 any day of the week.

@@surfcastingtheisland4914 I have to agree about a one piece rod. I've been surfcasting for fifty years and I've seen so many improvements in rods over the years. As you get older the rods you use get lighter and shorter. I love my odm genesis nine footer and as a former rod builder I would never have a custom rod built today.
