Both Batches 11&12 of Old Carter American were amazing I had a lucky year so my top 5 were ECBP batch 5 Pirate Bottle, ECBP C919,Parkers 10yr Rye and Michter's 10yr Bourbon Cheers 🥃😎

All sound top notch. I do hope JD rye becomes a shelter. I don't spend enough time hunting to have any of bottles on your list. My best bottle this year is EC C923 and Widow Jane Decadence. Both I have you to thank for. Great list. D

Nice 5! Really want to get a Jack Daniels 12! Little Book 7 is great! Staggs are nice I have 22a, 23c, and 6 bottles of 23b! Can’t go wrong with JDSBBP rye! Haven’t had an Old Carter yet:)

I feel your pain in regards to 13th Colony Double Oaked. Lost out on all the 13th Colony lotteries. JD 12 is much better than JD10; not even close. Bookers is one of those lines I've chosen not to pursue, so I don't have experience with them. I've not had Stagg 23C, but I do like Stagg 22A. JDSBBP Rye is fantastic. My bottle was 138.1 proof, but drank like a 108 proof rye. Fantastic! Have several Old Carter's, but not tried the OC American Whiskey Batch 12. Did open up the OC Bourbon Batch 15 and loved it. Unfortunately, that bottle is almost gone already.

Little Book Chpt. 7, ECBP A123 and C923, Westward Cask Strength, and Mister Sam Tribute Blend #3. Honorable Mention, a Four Roses Barrel Strength OESQ 10y-9m 126.6 proof Floor 5, JE that tasted like a spicy Black Vanilla Flower; aptly named on the bottle, " The Devil's Vanilla." Most surprising bottle of the year: James E Pepper Decanter Barrel Strength for $60. Best value for the test I have had all year.

The best bottle I had last year was Buzzards Roost Cigar Rye. $75 in St Louis, if you find it please give it a try!

Great list. A lot of my favorites are picks. But excluding those it would be KLuke Batch 6, JDBP Rye, Found North Batch 3, RD1 Amburana, and Two Stacks CS (Irish)

I have the JD rye haven’t cracked it yet. I don’t hunt or camp in Ohio it’s a controlled state I’m okay with that we never have to worry about secondary pricing. And we do get some very good bottles. Not a Buffalo trace chaser I am looking for a Stagg but if I don’t find it I’m not gonna lose sleep over it is buffalo trace good sure but not something worth paying over msrp for. I stick with what is available on the shelf I do keep it simple WT OF WR KC EC RE currently enjoying the Penelope 9 year it’s a very good pour. Knob creek is one of my favorites the single barrel in my opinion is the best out of their lineup. Yes the 12 year is good but it would be better if it was higher proof. My cap is 150 so your #1 is way out regardless of how good it is can’t justify paying that for alcohol. I do enjoy bolder whiskey I’m a scotch fan but most just don’t have the proof or bolder profile most are light and fruity which is a something I will drink but not often.

Great video. Most of these are out of my budget. Well hallelujah of them are out of my budget. I did get a bottle of Stagg for $54.00. We have the same, preference in in tasting notes but I can’t even find these if I could afford them. How about a list under $60.

For me, Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof Rye was easily at the top of my list, followed by Woodford Reserve Batch Proof, then Booker's Mighty Fine, then Elijah Craig A123, and rounded out with New Riff Silver Grove and JT Meleck Cask Strength Rice Whiskey. Honorable mention to Middle West Ported Pumpernickel Rye. I suspect that my palate is similar to yours, though, in that I want a robust profile with heavy fruit, well-integrated ethanol ("drinks under" its proof), rich caramelized sugar, and finished with dark chocolate and espresso.

Awesome video! Unfortunately I can’t find any of these in my area except for JD Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye(which is amazing). On a side note, I’m going to buy the Joseph Magnus Murray Hill Club based solely on your recommendation in previous videos. Hopefully it will deliver!

That's a solid list. Still hunting for the JD 12 and Rye and anyways on the lookout for a Stagg. They are tough to find in Denver. For non store picks, EC C923 and JD Barrel Proof are at the top of my list. Cheers David!

Nice list. Love that Chapter 7. I bought it and opened it that evening with a friend. I went out the next day and bought a backup. I wish I had bought 3 more instead of 1 so I can drink it longer. Curious as to how Chapter 8 will taste with it’s Sherry finish. Favorite 5 whiskies I bought in 2023. 1- 1999 Irishman 17 single cask (auction) 2- 2022 Yellowstone Limited Edition 3- Octomore 13.1 4- Little Book Chapter 7 5- Stagg - I haven’t blinded them but love them all. In 2022 I picked up batch 14, 2022a&b, 2023a,b&c. Helped 6 people get Stagg and got 15 for my retirement years. 1st year finding any Honorable Mention Gold Spot Blue Spot Midleton Barry Crocket Bunnahabain 12 yr CS 2022 edition Barrell Grey Label Seagrass Blanton’s SFTB Midleton Very Rare

That's a solid list. I had a chance to pick up Little Book under MSRP but passed it up.. little regret haha. My list would be: Frey ranch Uncut, JD SBBP, Stagg 23C, Rare Breed, and Russell's SB.
