I am loving my Nitto Ridge Grappler hybrid mud-terrain/all-terrain! When I ran them at waaaaay too much inflation through mud, they were still kicking clean within feet of moving. They kinda sound like mud terrains with the volume turned down to 80% lol - but well worth it. Two days from now, I hit up Silver Lake Sand Dunes and try them in the sand.

@@silverbulletxv4497they did really well! Very happy with them. Next up are the challenges of winter (they're not 3PMSF rated, but do have the M+S designation, so, we will see).

One problem with CUVs is the availability of decent MTs that fit. An MT with plentiful siping and a compound that stays pliable in cold weather can do fantastic in snow...and ATs are about worthless in mud.

Yea I will say it’s a bit more limited, though at the end of the day most cuvs don’t see the terrain to warrant mts, and even then I’ve made it through all the same terrain with the ats, do they preform amazing in mud? Nope, but they honestly do pretty solid, enough to get ya through. And if you’re talking major mud that really requires mts, you’re probably not doing that in a cuv lol

Got a chance to run them for a little snow at the end of the season and wasn’t in love, the rubber compound just gets cold and doesn’t like it haha, the toyos are way better for sure

What year is your crosstrek and what's your mpg?

It’s a 2016 with modified and untuned engine, so keep in mind these numbers aren’t necessarily accurate to what they could be , but usually between 18 to 22 mpg depending on driving

@@silverbulletxv4497 Thanks, sick mods done to the xv. I was looking to upgrade to AT tires but was afraid of losing my 34 mpg with my current tires on my gen 2 crosstrek.

@@ajmodesto oh no doubt, it’s a fun build!!! Keep in mind my fuel economy is mainly affected by my 4 inches of lift, heavy metal bumpers, and big lights on the roof, I know people who only loose an mpg or 2 by throwing on at tires, I’d for sure recommend the toyos in a 225/75/15, they’re almost identical to stock height, weight and width so the change should be negligible but the performance should be dramatic, they do so much better than stock tires off-road, if you wanted to go up to 235/75/15 you can for sure though that’s when I’d expect to lose a little fuel economy because of weight
