Making LOTS of progress out here at my place. I'm very pleased the monsoon season has started out in such spectacular fashion! Look forward to completing my septic soon so I can move on to the next phase of building my dream home out here. Thanks for following along, have a great day!

Your sediment collection method is really working well in your lower meadow along with getting rid of the invasive juniper is great.

I suggest to build slope dam of 10 feet height and 15 feet long at low point. You can hold more water with natural pond...

I don’t know if you caught it or not, but at 12:43, I saw a piece of bull quartz. You may have gold on your land. Pan those check dams. Something tells me you will have black sand and possible color in your pan.

Septic is way different there than in Virginia, lol. We have a holding tank, then several drain field lines as much as 100’ long ditches, gravel, piping with weep holes, etc. I hope we get to see how it works

It won't look as tidy but you could accelerate the process and keep more sediment by putting debris like sticks and other organic material you clear from other areas. The soil would likely be more stable as well. I'm not a hydrologist tho. Looking good!

Looks great Brian. That’s a nice little layout. Meadow is running fast she keeps on point. Farthest west I ever got was Grants New Mexico in the late fifties. There is some pretty weird weather out there.

How did the Rocky mountain junipers arrive? Will you need/create fire breaks for the grasses? Will you have good ground rod on the home for lightening protection? Metal roof?

Dang, I hope it hits you all soon. I've been lucky up here, it rained a couple of times per day ever since last Friday. Looking like we'll get a break in the weather this weekend and then it's supposed to start up again on Monday. It's been a great start to the season over here, I'll send some rain your way!

@@NK-iv1ik gotta pushback on your misplaced comments...first off, the trees are invasive and have turned the environment more arid by not giving the tallgrass a chance to grow. Tallgrass is FAR SUPERIOR in trapping groundwater compared to the invasive Rocky Mtn Juniper and provide much better habitat for smaller animals. Regarding the bunny, that's life out here. The comment about "coverage for everyone's safety"...who are referring to? It's just me out here and I don't need to have OSHA standards for a simple hole in the ground. Perhaps you could so some research to educate yourself on why your comments are misguided. Here's a good starting point for you regarding the invasive species I'm eliminating from my property.
