Im here to attest to the darn near miraculous transformation ive had with my pooch since i started using coconut oil. But in my case, putting it IN her food daily as oppossed to rubbing her down with it really did the trick. I think she was too furry and the oil maynt have been reaching the depth it needed because she still had a lingering tick issue. But when i started adding it to her food they literally vanished. A month later and there isnt one tick on her . I can barely believe it myself! lol. Thank you to everyone who suggested this. You really saved me.

Hi again, Doug and Stacy. I just wanted to update you on the condition of my parents' dog, she's pretty old but still doing ok. They followed your recommendation of the coconut oil and acv and it has definitely helped significantly. She doesn't seem to itch or scratch very often at all. It has been a big relief for the dog and my parents, who were at their wits end. Thank you again for you great advice.

Love the apple cider vinegar idea. I use food grade diatomaceous earth to keep bugs away but also use it in my smoothies.

I personally wouldn't use tea tree oil on any animals (at least not where they could reach to lick). This is because it has been shown to be toxic if ingested, even in small amounts. Thanks for so many great sustainable how to videos!!

I use lemongrass directly on my dogs and cats and just rub it on their fur. I repeat weekly and they've never had issues for 3 years now!

I read a vet's recipe which included 10 dr. ea. of lavender & 20 dr. Cedarwood oil in 1/2 c ea. of witch hazel & aloe vera (1c total liquid). He said as long as the oils were less than 2% of the solution, it wasn't toxic. He said the recipe above was only 1.6%, so this recipe mixed into a qt. of ACV should be pretty diluted to less than 2%.

Soooo happy you did a video on this!!!! Recently discovered My border collie is allergic to everything!!! I too had him on a raw food diet, but he is allergic to every single meat, even kangaroo???😬 His body cannot process the proteins.. It's been quite a battle trying to figure out...he's on a vegan diet now, with supplements.. it definitely wouldn't hurt for me eat like him🤔 LOL... finding this natural flea and tick remedy is such an answer to prayer, as even the chewable flea and tick meds that he used to take, now make his skin break out horribly 😔 thank you for all the advice you give, and for sharing your life... We have chickens and ginneas and the pests in the yard have gone down over the last eleven years so we hardly get any ticks anymore and the same for our dog and cat! That I think is really nice to prevent ticks and fleas. The black flies are still bad in August here in Minnesota. Maybe I'll try this to fight those. Thanks Stacy!

I love using natural ingredients for everything. I had mixed acv with baking soda and Himalayan salt in a spray bottle to get rid of the fleas on my dog, 2 cats and 2 ferrets... didn't work very well. I will have to use the acv with the essential oils. Thank you so much. New subscriber here!!!!!
