Welcome back for another Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon Season 2 update video. In this video, I will be talking about Matt Smith's new interview on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show. During this interview, Matt Smith revealed the release date for House of the Dragon's second season. According to Matt Smith, House of the Dragon season 2 will release this summer, during the month of August. HBO responded after Tech Radar asked them if it were true. As of right now, we still don't have the exact official release date. HBO neither confirmed nor denied Matt Smith's information. House of the Dragon season 2 will release during the summer of 2024, on HBO and HBO Max.

It's not nuts at all. that's 8 hours of content. That's 4 movies worth. Most movies of similar quality of CGI and other fx take that much time for 1 movie.

Geesh, not a big deal HBO. Everyone pretty much figured, August. You already said Summer 2024, he just narrowed it down to the month. Which fans DO appreciate by the way. Good Lord it's not like he gave away the plot (which a lot of us already know due to the books and Game Of Thrones).

Don't like the way HBO wants each episode last not more than an hour. In G.O.T episodes were anywhere from under an hour to 1hr 12 mins approx . I know traditionally tv programms are under an hour , but G.O.T wasn't any old tv programme. I hope HBO dont make episodes that feel rushed.

But I did have August as release date for HotD in mind, and I must have gotten it from somewhere.

Unfortunately it got shelved. Kit gave an interview a couple of weeks ago and said it got shelved indefinitely for other projects. HBO is doing a movie, Dunk & Egg series and an animated series about the Sea Snake.

@@madyjules No problem. The only good news is that it hasn’t been completely canceled. According to Kit, the writers are still working on it. It just isn’t a priority for HBO right now. Kit is joining Emilia in the Marvel universe for his Black Knight character, so he’s keeping himself busy in the meantime. Maybe his announcement was a way to poke HBO into action as they haven’t officially said anything yet 🤔.

According to the books in the end, both Aegon II and Rhaenyra are only able to rule briefly. Eventually, both are killed, along with many of their family members and dragons. Rhaenyra and Daemon's son eventually is crowned Aegon III, and he marries Aegon II and Helaena's daughter Jaehaera to unite the warring branches.

I hate the eight episodes instead of ten.. especially after season 8 of GoT it sounds like a bad idea. We don't want "filler", we want a good story and built up. If all episodes are "jam packed" it sounds more like an action movie and Im not there for that.

oh who cares if he reveals when the release time frame is...only down side is that post-production takes longer so they push it back...but guess what...if you tell Thrones fans you're delaying something to make sure the special effects are done correctly, they will say yes thank you please do it right.
