Ive been using Mendi for a few weeks now. Originally just got it to improve my adhd issues. Since Ive been using it, Ive noticed patterns in my thinking during the sessions that are related to some of my mental health issues. My thought patterns have become a bit easier to manage since I started. I typically do four of the five minute sessions per week, but I felt enough confidence to do a 10 min session today! Im feeling pretty excited about this thing right now! Im really grateful these guys have put this thing together!

Since Mendi is a fairly new product, I am sure they have room for improvement. I’d want to see the light issue totally cleared up. I would like to know if the area in the left frontal cortex that Richie Davidson calls the “happiness center” (paraphrased) is within the range of this device. In any event, I am going to keep an eye on the Mendi Focus.

I'm buying one of these to mostly use as it is intended but also to experiment with. Also, I do a slightly modified wim hof breathing exercise every morning and my main objective when holding my breath is to maintain focus on the light that I usually see. i've been doing this for a while and have begun to be able to feel my heart beat in my forehead but as I hold my breath after exhale it becomes harder and harder to maintain that focus and to keep my eyes closed. Interestingly I noticed I could hold my breath much longer, on both exhale and inhale, when focusing on something like that light or the heart beat than if I just sit there. So maybe an objective for this device as it relates to wim hof would be to decrease the size of the drop in oxygen levels when holding the breath and maybe at an advanced level even maintain the high oxygen levels

I also had my wife purchase one for herself she's dealing with PTSD from a very young child age and she's also getting counseling therapy but only computers can do what computers can do so seeing what the brain is doing it's an incredible thing it takes all the guesswork out then the computer already knows what it needs to do when it sees things out of whack it's not your mind it's your brain this is definitely high-tech science for the human race

Hey Cody, working with the Mendi on your suggestion. And, since you have an inside connection there, maybe talk to them about their support. Many people chatting online about not getting replies after weeks of trying. They have a reddit, too, and nobody seems to respond there either often. I know they have a FB but not everyone cares to be in the Zuck universe so at least email support should be more efficient. OTOH, keep up your good work.

This is just to give you a big hug. I have had to step away from neurohacking for a couple of years due to needing to heal some very old childhood trauma that I was only vaguely aware of. I'm still in the trenches here but like the story of being stuck down a hole & asking for help from a doctor (prescription) & a priest (prayer) I've been down here before so it's only a matter of when I get out! So it's good to see you have been covering this field & as soon as I get capable of reliably using my muse etc I will be back at it again. Sadly according to recent videos that some of the tech I have bought to help me you do not have good opinions of but I guess that's a risk you take at the leading edge! If hadn't been you my life could have been a lot worse. So this is just to give you as a big hugs & I hope to be back more in the future

As frontal lobe activity decreases? And tracking blood flow on his leg while NOT moving the leg, can anyone explain why the blood flow increased slowly over the 5 minutes from him just sitting there? I was expecting a flat graph for that.

Thanks Doc thanks for the response wow I just did a Mendy session and I've been taking really good notes all through my training I have a training background in different arenas and so today's training it literally wore me out I was able to do a focusing session that literally I'm starting to come back from now 10 minutes after 15 minutes after but wow when you really start learning how to work that muscle wow I don't want to tell you my numbers because those are my numbers and everybody's numbers are different and everybody's work is different and the Mendy is doing incredible things individually very specifically it takes calculations and then it tweaks the program to strengthen you in the categories that need to be strengthened and from what I have learned if I'm not mistaken doc The Mindy the AI is constantly tweaking what it does so that it strengthens the areas that it is focusing on at the beginning of the session before it starts it does a calculation and from what I've read and learned it's always doing calculations and what your mind does what your brain does and it monitors all that to adjust the program to tighten up the things that are less tight in the brain so it changes what it looks at and focuses on to tighten up in your brain and so your numbers are always going to be a bit different they can be the same but they may be totally different because of what the computer software is doing to strengthen up the brain it's like sort of like tuning in a guitar you tune in certain parts of the guitar and then other parts of the guitar become a little Out Of Tune so you go over and you tune up those strings and so you have to find the tuning and that's what the Mandy does it turns your brain to be in tune the more you tune it with the MENDI. the more in tune it will be what do you think of that analogy doc

Greetings, Dr. Rall I'm interested in "Mind Monitor", but it seems that Realtime Neurofeedback for Meditation would be hindered by looking at Waveforms and .CSV, since the voltages produced are higher with your eyes CLOSED. By this reasoning, Sound would be better. For MY purpose, the ideal Program, SO simple, would be individual Musical Notes which vary, in volume, with the Voltages of the alpha, theta, beta, etc., Wavebands. Does such a program exist?

Hello Sara, for beginners we recommend 3-4 times a week, 7 minute long sessions. Keep in mind, consistency is far more important than the total number of minutes you spend training. As for compatibility, the app can run on iOS version 13.0 or later, and Android 6.0 and above. While both you and your parents can use the same headband to train, you will need separate phones to create individual profiles and keep track of your progress. Hope this helps!

Even after using it for a few weeks I’m still a little unclear of the “proper” mental technique used to influence the ball. Are you thinking “up up up” as if you were trying to Jedi push it? Other times I’ve tried repeatedly trying to be present and hyper focused on the ball, and returning when I’ve been distracted. And I’ve tried other methods…. I wish there was clear instruction on what you need to do for optimal improvements

I just started 3 days ago and I'm wondering the same thing. There is no clear instructions. Watched videos and all it says is focus on the ball. -_-

Try writing a timeline out of your memory’s from your first memory to the last memory. It’s important you wrote down core memory’s. And then when you have 10-20 memory’s wrote down you start your mendi session und try to go into that memory’s. You will see how crazy this can work

8:20 so the same wavelength as sunlight, but how powerful ...... or are we saying that sunlight shines into my frontal lobe ? Focus is attention but for longer. Unfortunately a lot of energy is needed for that and that is probably why we need rest between high intensity attention or log time focus requiring activity. I have brain fog and it's probably the lack of energy. Also new research on red blood cells not being able to take the oxygen to the cells. No attention because of too much stimulus is a different problem. Also if you get more blood to that area, the chances are it will grow or the blood vessels will grow in trying to adjust, now your head needs to get more blood or it might starves other area?!

How can it mesure bloodflow through you skull? It makes no sense to me
@robertrtvelo3135
@robertrtvelo3135 2 жыл бұрын
Hello Silviu, that is indeed how the technology works! To be more precise, Mendi contains two kinds of sensors - emitters and detectors. The emitters send infrared light through your brain, which then travels in a banana-like shape back to the surface of your head where the detectors measure how much of the light returns. Hope this helps!
@CodyRallMD
@CodyRallMD 2 жыл бұрын
Robert is right, infrared light can pass through skin tissue. Much like a flashlight will shine through your hand if you press it up to the skin. It will appear red because the red light is making it all the way through your tissue.

Does it make you more biased if you have a promotion link in the description - I thought that idea of the channel is "Scientific reviews"? And don't you need to disclose that you are getting paid for that type of review?

@@CodyRallMD you are doing a good job. And your videos are great. But I agree that you need to start disclosing any financial gains you might get for your reviews. Full transparency. Being honest and upfront. I think doing that would be doing your best! Again, you are doing great with these videos. You are doing awesomely! But this is still not your best. You must disclose anything that could influence your reviews. Thank you.

Just bought this. I’m a sleep doc. And subscribed. Like the channel. Thanks for the “heads up” on the light. But wondering if you wore a baseball cap. EEG: when I teach students about EEG and fellows in sleep. This is my analogy, imagine you are at a a stadium packed with 84,000 people. I lower a microphone down into the center of the field. I want to find a specific person shouting from that position. Almost impossible, BUT I can tell when the crowd is a doing “a wave “ and if I know where the wave started I can approximate the location in the stadium not by seat or row but by section if we are lucky.

This is a long promotion; it’s ok to make money from promotion. But at least don’t try to pretend it’s to be true or real just because you have a YT account with followers. Have some responsibilities. These people are vulnerable having a mental disorder and you are just after their money taking advantage of their situation promoting various new products everyday. It’s cruel.

It sounds like you proved that playing guitar is 100 times better for your brain then sitting with this device? How is this device useful? Maybe if you track your blood flow all day every day for a week, and you can see when your brain has peak energy, then that is when you should do your studying.

You kinda nailed the point of these devices. They’re not meant to be used once every now and then. You need constant data hence the whole point about it being a neurofeedback device.

No that's not what I was going for... consistent training to increase your focus on your own. Just because you are focused while playing the guitar doesn't mean that it will help you focus at school or work. Thanks for watching and the comment Fahraynk.
