Fun little addition to Jim's story-My father was one of the arresting officers in Huntington. We were watching Clash of the Champions IX, and right after the Midnight Express turned on the Dynamic Dudes, he told me about how he arrested the Midnight Express's manager some years back. I remember being so mad at my dad for not throwing Jim in jail. I miss southern wrestling.

My boss is a 80yr old Attorney in NE Ark. He represented 3 guys in early 80s that destroyed Jerry King Lawler's Cadillac in the parking lot after a match. The value of the Cadillac made it a Felony. My boss got the Trial continued 3 different times and The King finally came over to him after 3rd continuance and said hey man I cant keep coming back 4 this. I lose $ missing shows coming here for this and now I have to come again a 4th time. My Boss said Mr. Lawler We would be glad to plea to a Misdemeanor if u can convince the Prosecutor to let us plead to that. Boss said he saw the lights go on in Kings head n he went started talking to Prosc. Boss said he had a call by end of day to plead to a Misdemeanor in Court the Next Day w Stipulation King didnt have be there! Lol! King was losing more $ than Cadillac was worth, lol, 80s Rastlin!

Jim said that fans can't get close enough to hug a babyface now because of all of the barricades. But I witnessed a couple of preteen girls hugging Dolph Ziggler at Smackdown a few years ago. This was in one of the sections beside the entrance ramp, and Dolph stopped on his way to the ring for the dark match after the taping. There was a barricade there, but just the one normally seen beside the entrance ramp. Fortunately, these girls just wanted a hug because I don't think that barricade (or the arena "security" employees stationed nearby) would have stopped a crazy fan from attacking Dolph or anyone else. As Jim said, there's no real heat now but if a time traveling fan from the 70s/80s had been in attendance, that barricade wouldn't have kept the heels safe.
@mikepeterson764

The reason why they have so much security is not because fans want to beat the heels. It's because they want to beat anyone to liven up the show.
