Mark is like Bob. He never really plays the song the same way too many times. Mark is the master improviser. Like Hendrix always topping his excellence. We are fortunate to have video of his avo session. It's nice to watch the differences and timing of his twiddly bits and riffs from show to show.

I have never seen a man living his music like this one do. Even after all thoses years.

The first notes are a quotation of 1927 "Dark was the night cold was the ground" by Blind Willie Johnson... Great! Mark is so refined, strong and soulful that he makes me shiver. God bless you, Mark!

I was treated to a live performance by Mark Knopfler and his world class band back in 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana (USA). Among the very best shows and most talented group of musicians I've ever seen live. It was just fantastic. I hope I get a chance to catch them on the road again.
