One member of HF who never gets enough credit for his singing ability is Adam Rupp. It's easy to pick out Rob's tenor voice, and Austin's tenor voice, but that 'other' high voice you hear is Adam. It was also present in 'How Great Thou Art' and 'Helplessly Hoping'. He prefers not to sing, but when he does, his voice is not hidden. So add THAT to his phenomenal beat boxing ability.
@marytramp5678

he really is an under-rated singer..and it's a shame his voice can't be utilized more often. i was just watching a video on Chris Rupp's channel on how the group was started, and how Adam was chosen to be the beat boxer. you should watch i i you haven't already. it's kind of funny how i happened.. Chris had said he was going to be the beat boxe and everyone kind of laughed at that idea so Adam just said as a joke that he would and everyone thought i would be a good idea.. and so from there he just taught himself how to be so amazing. from him just kidding around o what he is today..

That always reminds me of the young Van Halen brothers story,: Big brother Alex sort of bullied little Eddie away from a drum kit he had just gotten as a gift, so Eddie would spitefully steal and play Alex's guitar...

Not sure why this is not talked about with Home Free. How could anyone mis this. Every time there is a song with a break in instrumentals, Adam sing the highest notes and voice. He has a beautiful high tenor voice which seems underappreciated. Go back to any song without a beat boxer and listen. It is absolutely one of the best background sounds and needs more recognition.

Tim and Chance are soldiers that are dying. You can see the ghost like figures in the windows. The other three are their " brothers" that have been left to carry their stories!!! This is the best song to me, that they have ever done. TIM has a hauntingly beautiful sound that is beyond compare. Chance was the same. All of the harmonies were phenomenol! GREAT! GREAT! GREAT SONG!

Ethereal. Haunting. Gut wrenching. Soul stirring. Angelic. The only thing missing was the seraphic choir backing them up. Excuse me while I track down my soul and stuff it back into my body...

@@officialmortius well, I've had the advantage of hearing this song like 100 times. I'll be honest the very first time I heard it I was thrown by Tim's tone. The song and his tone hit me emotionally but his bass usually has a brightness to it which I love. Anyway, the more I paid attention to the lyrics the more I understood his choice. Now, this is my favorite Home Free song.

It is an A Capella masterpiece. It is the new platinum standard of all things A Capella. Although the song was written by Mark Knoepfler of Dire Straits, the arrangement was from the 2009 version from the Finnish A Cappela band Club for Five. But as usual, HF perfected it.

Yours is my favorite reaction to this song. Home Free took a beautiful arrangement from Club for Five and lifted it to this masterpiece. Tim's beautiful bass was an amazing choice for one of the leads. It imparts such gravitas, power, and emotion to such a meaningful song. The contrast of Chance's softer sweeter sound is beautiful. Then the harmonies and Tim hits you with the depths... Simply stunning. The hardest part has been waiting for Home Free to release this video since their album was released because I had no one to yell about it with. Now, I can watch you and nod and say "same" when you react to the parts that struck me. Thank you, Mortius.💖

This was perfection, I was blown away by their harmonies and Tim's opening was phenomenal, then when Chance took over, it gave me goosebumps. The video was awesome, it was as if some of the fallen had come back and were singing it, the way it was shot every time you saw them by a window they became transparent and ethereal. I was in tears again. It was the best from Home Free, for now!! They will top it sometime in the future, but till then this is on top of my play list. On a lighter note, Adam was Harmonising and singing like he does it all the time, no beat boxing just his beautiful Tenor voice joining with the others, it was like a choir of Angels singing. Beautiful just Beautiful. 💞💞💞💞💞

Definitely look at "My Country Tis Of Thee" because while it didn't get as much buzz, it is still so well done. The fact that Austin holds a single note for crazy long with no waver alone impresses me about it. And as to the breathy quality, the original version of the song starts very softly so Tim being breathy is perfect. He actually sang it very similar to the way he started in "Misty Mountains" with Peter Hollins. Breathy, softly almost as if singing to himself.

This is a creative masterpiece. The light shining through their bodies reinforces the incredible vocals, that double down on the lyrics from the hauntingly beautiful solos by Tim and Chance to the still pillars of pain filled sound from Austin, Rob and Adam representing their brothers who go on after taps. The whole piece is deeply spiritual filled with movement and regret and poignancy in an undeniably ethereal male way that touches our souls even to the "amen" at the end. And as "amen" means, "so be it"

Both Tim and Chance use that kind of gentle, vulnerable, yet oh so powerful tone that evokes such emotion. And then add the interwoven movement in the background vocals and it hits you like a gut punch, knocks the wind right out of you! I have listened to this with every reactor that I seen do this video and many of those a few times. So, well over 100 times by now, and the lyrics and harmonies are so pure and clear that it still gives me chills every single time and many times there are still tears. Home Free has once again given us a much needed message and have started conversations across the globe. If you get a chance, read the statement on their channel info that explains their thoughts about how this translates not only to veterans, but to everyone. You are not alone in not knowing how to express exactly how you felt. There've been many reactors that haven't known what to say. And that's definitely a compliment to Home Free. Great reaction! ❤

Let us not forget the tribute this song pays to the men and women who have died to keep us safe. My dad was at Utah Beach during the Normandy invasion, and my first cousin served thee tours in Vietnam. They both survived, but so many did not. My dad would talk about getting off the ship in Ireland and England, but never about combat. He was a medic during the war, and a volunteer EMT after, in addition to his professional work as a draftsman. This song hits me in the gut every single time. Beautifully, and masterfully done. More powerful even than Mark Knopfler's original song.

It's hard to listen to lyrics because the harmonies and bass are so beautiful the focus is on that. this does have a deep feel to it though. When I hear Tim's bass in this and I've heard it in other songs too, the gravely, breathy unique bass of his, I imagine a pipe organ playing in an empty church. That's what it sounds like to me and it's as dramatic as that.

No truer words have ever been spoken when you said that Home Free are the masters of acapella!!! 😍😍😍

First time I heard this, I cried because it reminded me of my fellow veterans and the mental turmoils they suffer from and those we lost. The echoes in the middle of the song remind me of the acoustics you would hear in a cemetery during a funeral. I did several military funerals and the acoustics when TAPS is played is indescribable.

Nice to have you back.... I knew you would enjoy this one immensely! This is so incredibly haunting. It does leave you speechless. During all of this, Austin and Tim and friends and relatives have been doing songs on their own along with Home Free.. Not acapella... but so so good. Listen to My Maria.. Signed Sealed Delivered.. Tears In Heaven, and of course the Home Free 's cover of When A Man Loves A Woman.. and the Holiday stuff... Snowglobe by Tim, Warmest Winter by Austin.. Such a gift for all of us.. all of them. So talented. Thanks and have a nice Holiday!

I really like your reactions. There are so many good things to talk about. One thing you didn't mention is the way the bass drops out right before Tim sings his solos. It adds a lot to the song. I wish i could remember the name of the group who came up with this arrangement. Home Free credits them on their video page of the song and they deserve some applause as well.

Haunting, ghostly, profound. Tears every time I hear it. And if Tim’s part was a speaking role, may I say Sam Elliot? That gravelly legendary timbre! Only Tim.
