I agree on your comparison between driving a diesel SUV vs corolla cross hybrid. My last car was Montero Sports and napapagod talaga ako magdrive. For reference, I am a lady driver, with a height of 152 cm and weigh 45 kgs. Ang bigat din ng manibela ng Montero pero ang gaan at sobrang tahimik nga ng Corolla cross. I got stuck on a 5pm, heavy rains traffic sa Sta Rosa going to Nuvali and hindi ako nakaramdam ng pagod and inip. Sarap talaga i-drive. Thanks for sharing all your real experience. And the way you explain is very simple and very practical. Ang galing!

I am more of a fan of hybrid than EV. Kaya I am optimistic that few years from now most of the automakers will make hybrid cars since almost a decade na ginagamit ng Toyota/Lexus and hybrid technology. I hope tangkilin ng mga Pinoy ang hybrid cars, though we know that its pricey pero we need to adapt sa changes ng technology natin ngayon. Pero good thing na mas uso ngayon ang small displacement engines with good power output with less fuel consumption. I hope TESDA will shift also in teaching this new approach sa pagmemekaniko ng hybrid vehicles. Thumbs up sayo sir sa vlog mo na ito. We need more of this topic and discussion. Let's go green in the future.

I don't usually comment sa mga YT reviews but as someone who doesn't know a lot about cars, sobrang na-appreciate ko yung paggamit mo ng layman's terms at pag simplify ng mga technical terms. Yung ibang car reviewers kasi, naka bungad agad yung technical terms na mahirap intindihin and just doesn't make sense sa katulad ko na new driver. 😅 You don't assume to be an expert pero I can tell that you know very well about cars even at your age, you're entertaining at hindi masyado serious, very modest ka sa mga videos mo, that's why subscriber na ako. 😅 Ang dami ko rin tips na nakuha that just makes sense. Thank you making car reviews entertaining and easy to understand for beginner drivers like me 😅

I've been using my Rav4 Hybrid XSE (2tone) for almost 7mo after replacing my Toyota Venza. Wanting to encourage you all guys to buy hybrid cause it really saves on gas and helps our environment. It saves me 40% on my gas consumption,eventhough am using the freeway for work almost everyday. Can you just imagine the saves I'll get, if am only driving in the city. Saves on msintenance too, no belts to change and alternator to replace, do some research before buying. Fun part, I never felt this gas crisis we are all having now. Very much. Unfortunately the supply here in North America doesn't meet our demands . You have to wait year or two to have it, that's according to the salesman himself. That's the reason I took the hybrid, not bad decision after all.

My dad loves your channel and probably one of your biggest fan. I've gotten a lot of flak from my petrolhead friends on why I "downgraded" from my BMW X5 diesel to a new Mazda CX60. Now I have a video to show them on why I decided to switch to a PHEV. (Price and cost to own and run was a great factor). Granted that I don't get that luxury badge but I have no regrets switching back to a Japanese automaker as my previous cars were Japanese.

With it being the first of Mazda there's still a lot more to improve when it comes to the hybrid system. But damn, it does capture that "Mazda Spirit" on a long winding and twisty road. It's not the most comfortable one out there but it definitely puts a smile on your face when you floor it down on a twisty open country road. That 323bph is nothing to scoff at. @@officialrealryan

Owner ako ng 2011 toyota prius. Original pa rin ang battery at average ako ng 47 miles/gallon. Hanggang ngayon ay walang problema sa engine at battery. Gawin lang ang mga suggested required maintenance ng toyota hybrid lalong lalo na ang oil change. Kada 4-5,000 miles ang aking oil changes at synthetic oil ang ginagamit palagi. Ginagamit ko ring gas ay 91/93 para cleaner ang burn ng gas

You are right pagdating sa hybrid na ang toyota ang pasimuno sa pilipinas. Pero it does not mean na sila ang dapat tignan. May mga ortger hybrid brand din naman na subok na din. Sa isinusulong ngayon na phaseout ng jeep para sa bagong e-jeepney para sa modernisation. Pwede kayang iconvert ang diesel to hybrid? Masmakakatipid kaya kung ito ang gagawin kaysa bumilio ipasa sa mga bawat driver ang 1.5 to 2.5 million pesos na halaga ng e-jeepney? Kasi sa probinsya tulad ng baguio tumitirik daw ang e-jeepney. Dito sa NZ, may fund ang govt to subsidize a car na pasado sa clean car emission, meaning may discount or rebate pag qualified for clean car discount young bibilhin mong kotse. Electric cars ang may pinakamalaking discount na umaabot to almost $9,000, then almost 5k naman sa hybrid at PHEV at nasa 1.5k naman pag low emission na full petrol engine car partikular mga small cars kagaya ng honda jazz, suzuki swift, toyota yaris atbp.

Ung concern ko lang talaga ung init sa PH na baka maapekto ung lifespan ng battery, lalo na kung nakapark sa open. Pero sabi mo naman hindi siya magiging issue. Bakit Toyota? 1.) May na research din pala ako. Although wala na yung mga sinasabi mo like belts, alternator etc. Nakalimutan mo na bibigay rin sa life span ng kotse mo ang Hybrid Brake Master. Usually 4k lang ang Brake master ng kotse but yung Hybrid brake master ng Toytota Hybrid is around 60k pesos. So yung natipid mo sa belts, preno at alternator eh mapupunta rin sa ibang parts na bibigay. If you will plan to own a Hybrid for 10 years rin, di rin ganun kalaki ang savings mo. May mga hidden cost ang hybrid like another extra filter sa Hybrid fan at another cost to clean the Hybrid battery cooling fan. Di ko alam cost sa Toyota PH kung magkano palinis but sa Toyota US, $752 ang cost ng palinis (41,000PHP)

Kapag downhill for example in Baguio where it is recommended to use engine brake, ganun din ba case kapag using Hybrid? Or much better kung gagamit ng brake para marecharge yung battery?

8 years ang warranty kamo ng battery. Yung warranty ba yan may terms na dapat sa Toyota ka lang mag papa service or separate ang warranty nya sa buong car? Yung kahit magpa service ka outside Toyota pero under warranty pa rin ang battery?

Serious question po sir. Do the fuel savings you get from going for a Hybrid unit really outweigh the price of new hybrid battery that you'll be getting in the future? As one commenter here stated and which I think is quite true, you need to be frequently driving your car in order to get maximum value out of your hybrid vehicle. Thanks!

Those are just bonuses of having a hybrid. kaya ko lang naman ginawan ng financial computation with regards to savings is because people always say na "not worth it or hindi mababawi yun battery", which is hindi totoo. basic assumptions lang talaga to what available data i can compute and explanable and makes sense. bottomline parin is you decide if its "worth it", para sakin, yun ride comfort niya is the biggest factor, plus the feeling of being "green", less frequency visit to gas station, time saved from doing such.

The price for the Hybrid Camry is the best bang for your money, considering its a midsize sedan that is comparable to the lexus ES, Honda Accord, Mazda 6 and still cheaper. In some Countries the warranty on the battery is 10years or 150,000miles or somewhere 90k km. Long story short the battery would cost around 250-300k converted at least if ever you need a replacement , not sure if there is locally you can buy one either, that is if it will break lol. Some Prius still runs 250-300k miles with no battery problems. Plus you get to save on brake pad replacements

Base sa nakausap kong sales rep ng Toyota, 300k daw ang battery replacement ng Corolla hybrid. Yun computation ni Ryan tama yun and mas malaki ang savings mo kung lagi mo sya ginagamit. Yun naman sinasabi ng iba na madi-discharge pag di ginamit, totoo yun kung 1 to 2 months mo siya hindi gagamitin pero ang requirement lang ng Toyota gamitin mo ng once a week for 1hr lang para hind ma-discharge ang battery. Hindi nakikita ng iba yun additional saving like mas makakatipid ka sa brake pads replacement due to regen breaking, wala ka nang belts at starter motor na papalitan. Yun transmission nya hindi nasisira dahil sa power split device na design ng toyota using planetary gears and higit sa lahat hindi magkakaron ng carbon build-up ang intake valves mo dahil port and direct ang gas injection mo. although hindi naka tune sa sports car ang acceleration pero immediate ang power delivery at walang lag. hindi ka pwede magkamali sa Toyota hybrid.

Been wanting to buy a hybrid, just waiting for our stupid Senatongs & Tongressmen to FINALLY craft legislation to give electric/hybrid vehicles the tax exemptions/tax breaks to lower their costs, just like in other countries.

@RR I'm going to buy sana fortuner then I saw your review of the cross hybrid. Thank you sa info that you share. BTW paano po ang hybrid sa akyatan, speed sa highway, at sa baha lalo na sa tag ulan? In the long run puede ba sa gasoline station mag PA change oil at sa specialty shop sa labas for PMS or sa Casa lang talaga kailangan mag pa pms? Thanks RR

mas malakas torque ng hybrid so mas malakas sa akyatan at mas matulin specially pag sobrang bilis ka na, batterya at gas na ang magpapaandar ng kotse mo. PWede ka pa PMS sa labas pero they won't perform PMS sa hybrid system mo. Need palitan ang Filters at linisin ang Hybrid battery fan and I don't think kaya na gawin yan ng Shell, MOtech o Rapide.

As per research sir, about sa baha Okay lang naman. wag lang papasok sa cabin. pero kung mag submerge into water, may safety functions naman to stop electricity from flowing to high voltage parts to prevent damage sa hybrid systems. Then after ma drain ang water, konting reset treatment lang Okay na daw sya ulit.

Hello ryan. I was wondering what your research/experience is in driving hybrid cars in flooded areas? I'm also leaning on buying a hybrid, and the biggest concern I have is if I can safely drive a hybrid through flooded areas, even if the water level doesn't exceed the ground clearance of the car. Hindi ko lang makita yung vid e. Meron nag tanong nyan 😅 sinagot ni toyota. Basically automatically nya cut off kung ano yun makakasama sa kanya. May sensors rin siya.

My concern is the need to constantly use the hybrid car else the battery will easily deteriorate. With 10-15,000 km average annual use the battery will be affected. Moreover, the battery of the hybrid is sensitive to water and moisture. With the constant floodings in many streets in MM, the hybrid is not recommended for use during rainy season in the Philippines!

Real Ryan, yun hatch ko hybrid levels ang fuel consumption at an average of 20 km/L. So the gas consumption savings of a hybrid don't really impress me. But good to know that there are other benefits like the ride comfort of a hybrid.

@@kakabitan baka nasa driving habit mo ang problema kaya ganyan lng ang fuel economy ng sasakyan mo. Saka baka rin palaging fully loaded ang sasakyan mo. Wag ka masyado madiin sa gas hehe. Pag pure highway driving sakin can go up to 24 km/L

I wouldn't buy anything Nissan and Mitsubishi as the companies are not in good financial health. S&P just came out giving Nissan's credit rating a junk status. Mitsubishi is co-owned by Nissan saving them from bankruptcy.

Sa pagkakaalam ko mas mahaba pa rin ang hybrid battery warranty sa US. Ten years doon sa pagkakaalala ko pero di na nga rin biro ung 8 years na ino-offer nila rito :) Sa mahal ng gasolina ngayon, ang ganda sana kung hybrid na lang ung upgrade powertrain sa Raize kaysa dun sa turbo. Sana magkaroon rin ng hybrid ang next-gen Vios para mailapit sa masa ung technology :)

I inquired sa Toyota Taytay where I bought my TCC Hybrid about the warranty of the hybrid battery. They said warranty of hybrid battery is 5 years or 100,000 km…fyi

@@markmark8386 I agree 5 years is short. Buti pa kayo dyan sa Europe 15 years. Over the years, kakaunti lang ang afford ang Prius dito. It was just fairly recent siguro, around 2019 when Toyota here introduced Altis hybrid for P1.5M. Then 2020, the Corolla Cross hybrid. This year Camry hybrid and RAV4 hybrid. Other car manufacturers are also slowly introducing their hybrid cars- like Hyundai Ionique and Geely Azkara ( mild hybrid) to name a few. Hopefully more car manufacturers would venture in hybrid electric vehicles that would also be palatable price wise to Filipinos. In the meantime, I’ll just make sure na lang na regularly maintained ng CASA yung TCC hybrid ko.😁

After 5 years parehas pa din ang capacity ng battery. You could imagine the battery will last up to the lifetime of the car. Toyota even gave 10 years warranty in the USA so ang ibig sabihin ganon sila ka-confident sa product nila. I spoke to a car buy and sell businessman and he told me the resale value of hybrid cars is high especially if it is Toyota.
