This guy is an international treasure. Latin, Jazz, Rock, Santana. I mean, he picks up and plays the same six-stringed instrument that tens of millions of people play and ... there's no mistaking who's strumming the strings. One of a kind.

Beautiful reaction. The name of the song is "SAMBA FOR YOU". Actually, Samba is the name of the Rhythm of the song, and coming from Brasil. The sound of TI, is like ""TEA" in english; say like "SAMBA PA TEA".

This is the music of your grandparents when we were young. Thank you for taking the time to listen. I see it touches your spirit in the same way it did us. This is the last generation to have real music played by actual musicians. Sadly today genuine music has been replaced with constant noise that aggravates the spirit.

Carlos is often overlooked as a Guitar God, but shouldn't be!!!
@BORFWHISTLE1
@BORFWHISTLE1 4 жыл бұрын
I don't know who's doing all this overlooking, you speak of. But Carlos has written and performed some of the most beautiful music I have heard... in any genre. I am a huge music lover, with a broader range of tastes, than most come close to. And Carlos is definitely a guitarist...a soulful presence... a musical force, I could never overlook. I can't really do favorites. But if I had to rate him as a guitarist, he would be among my top ten. But if I'm evaluating a musician, it can never be on theIr playing skills alone. I'm not easily impressed by speed, or acrobatics, although such skills can certainly be used strategically, to enhance a hopefully, otherwise moving performance. The musicians that consistantly exhibit that intense touch and feel relationship with their instrument, create great riffs... combinations of notes and tones, that grab you inside, and take you... mind, body and soul... to other places. THOSE are the ones that wrench my gut, and get me emmotionally charged. Eddie Van Halen can shred, like few others. so what ? Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, and Joe Satriani can do it all, including a mastery of electronic effects, that far surpasses most others. And quite frankly, they bore the shit out of me. You might say they bore me to tears, while Carlos can MOVE me to them.

At 6:50 Carlos pays homage to another great guitarist George Benson with a few riffs from Benson's 'Breezin'. I favor the studio version but only because it was the first version I ever heard back in the day. As the live versions come out I can't help being amazed at how Carlos energizes this masterpiece for his audiences. A truly underrated virtuoso guitarist

Hey India, This was sooo good. The first part of this still puts me in a trance. It's so magical, this song. I loved the Abraxas album and played it over and over. I'd play it a lot on Friday nights while getting ready to go out and drinking tequila or kahlua as I was getting ready -- or just laying on the floor hypnotized by this music.. I don't drink anymore and the music still sounds just as great, if not better. The version played here was amazing too. Please play more Santana. I love the mellowness of Santana. Love the rocking out too. But I loveeee that magical , hypnotic sound of his mellower stuff.

So 2 weeks before paying that song in front of people @ the Marine Core Marathon here in D.C.
