Me, playing agrarian anglers in a month tournament, being stuck with 2 planets and being invaded constantly, still being top 7/20 in eco, top 12/20 in tech, and top 14/20 in fleets:

I tried a build like this before and it worked pretty well. I found that deprioritizing Artisan jobs helps a ton because your Pearl Divers carry your CG production, freeing up those job slots for other things like researchers or more Metallurgists. You save all the minerals that would've gone towards those jobs too, which is nice because they're typically worth more on the market than food is. By picking up Catalytic Processing immediately, you can just build Agrarian/Industrial districts only and fill all your building slots with Labs. TV from your Agri districts will cover your energy needs and Mining Stations will take care of minerals, since you're not working any jobs that require them. I'd ditch Agrarian Idyll because it requires Pacifism and pick up Catalytic Processing immediately. Excess food is not nearly as important as excess minerals, so a low food growth at the start of the game can be supported with the Market, as the Trade Value from Anglers/Pearl Divers can cover immediate expenses if you need to build a colony ship, for example. I went Authoritarian/Xenophobe to grab as much space as possible, so I could terraform all the nearby planets to Ocean worlds. Once this build really gets going, you float resources like crazy. You have 0 mineral expenses (unless you get Lithoid pops) until you produce Strategics, a ton of passive TV without working Clerk jobs and never have to worry about food shortages or CGs.

I endorse the name list reward idea, and potentially simple to tier, tier one character names, tier two fleet names, tier three planet names or such.

The leaders not becoming psichic is a known bug that gets fixed in the next patch, the big hotfix for the version. It also removes the leader experience gain that some traditions have, they want to make leaders level up slower. Also important, the autocannons stop giving a ridiculous fleet power so no auto vassal the world.

35:19 "Forge Oceans" sounds so awesome and surreal out of context, imagine if like the entire hydrosphere is being used as like a coolant system to keep the planetwide crucible network from just melting itself from the sheer volume of alloys being produced.

When fishing is taken way to far but yet again this channel is know for takeing stellaris to the extreme and I love it

Another build video! I really like these, it's cool to see different things being tried out. I recently set out to do a Doomsday to Void Dwellers challenge myself to see if it was possible, and it was, but I lost nearly all my pops since the planet went pretty early. Have you used cybernetic hiveminds? I think they're cool, like a purely organic Borg.

I will be signing up to the patrion as soon as I see it! Also they are super easy to set up, it surprised me how easy I found it to set my own up, and I am a much smaller channel than you. In regards to rewards, for my stellaris, I am sharing my custom empire list so that my patrons can download and use empires I have made, along with the names on the endscreen. You could also share designs from from the depths, or save files so people can have a look around your designs. That is the angle I have gone down as I do satisfactory and have shared my world save with my patrons.

I feel very cool for having tried a different angler start but for very similar reasons to Lath here. I used trade value and pearl diver consumer goods to supercharge the early game science production, which gave me my third civic and catalytic conversion super fast as well. It's left me hyper dominant in a medium size galaxy after I got a lucky break on my choke points making it damn near impossible to invade me.

About the Patreon a few things that could be available to members is bloopers if you’re willing to share more things involving your speech impediment, maybe the ability to vote on if certain games could return or not

I like this kind of testing "filler" content, and I hope it really helps the channel in between the long playthroughs

What a coincidence I am also in the middle of my first Under One Rule all crisis playthrough! Only on Admiral difficulty because I'm still only a couple hundred hours in but I can't wait until I'm ready for 25x crisis!

If you wanted the arcology worlds, you have the option of rolling your precursor until you get the first league. “Secrets of the first league” gives you a head start on the tech required to puck arcology project. Agrarian idyll “prevents” arcologies by replacing the tech required to unlock the perk and the decision to restore relic worlds, but first league unlocks it. FWIW.

i posted this build in Eps server a week or so ago and god is it strong change I made to this is going clone army and not taking idel so u can get the Ecus or even taking necrophage so u can get 3 worlds and have ur secondary pop be nothing but food makersand ur main be max leader xp gain with specialist pop I got lucky in a test game I did aswell and got the ball building so without psionic I was getting 130 food and 5.5 CG per pop

as someone that loves a bit of fishing I fully understand the deep-seated desire to make "they just want to fish" work on a societal scale, I want more of this content mister algorithm

Dumb idea, but I feel like such a start should be paired with relic world rogue servitor start. You send them almost all your minerals for alloy production, they send you back almost all their food for alloy production. Meaning that resource pool that both players can turn into alloys is just massive. Or maybe some megacorp build focused on alloys?

I honestly hope you ppen a patreon, I would love to support Lathrix making more videos in the future.

I wonder if a food empire would be a good team game empire where you supply all the food with an empire like this while the others focus completely on minerals, alloys and ships. Later with the food to alloys civic you can support as well.

I had a similar build that I did in mp it was a lot off fun and I did preform pretty good But my one was different in the fact I chose slaver guilds and anglers as starting civcs then took agrarian idyll and I picked Syncretic Evolution so the idea was stack as many bonuses too "worker" out put on my second species with gene editing and traits plus government whilst my main species lived in utopian abundance and had every trait for tech

You can survey the same system with more ships, you have to manually que up planets. That might help you getting nebula next time

I got the remove blocker governor in my last play through, I waited untill he got the trait to lv3 and specd heavily into unity prodution then moved him around removing all my blockers... ended up rushing through all the traditions in a few years then specd out of unity production xD

I play this build a lot but i take agrarian idyll as a third civ and only take it after i get the tech/perk for ecu planets to make a size 37 out of the homeworld

That intro was uncalled for. Accurate, but uncalled for.

With raiding bombardment, it doesn't do much damage to armies. I never had trouble emptying a planet before having to switch to regular bombard to force the surrender. And yeah, it needs to be rebalanced for how broken it is; it's incredibly easy to fill up worlds while depriving the enemy.

Thanks for these videos, really enjoyable. Do you think a void dwellers, barbaric despoiler, slaver guilds combo would work? Thematically playing like a marauder clan.

On behalf of the ascension: Would it be even better if you would go with cybernetics? This way you could combine the genetic and machine traits for food production. I believe you could furthermore use the increased alloy production trait for pops. To add on to this you would not have to modify all pops towards aquatic hence the hability bonus from cybernetics.

The most I was able to buff was miners to like 18 minerals per job. Was making over 1000 minerals per tic pretty quickly and one world made 200 minerals per tic

Patreon reward idea that is pretty easy to implement and relatively popular: Create a custom leader name list. Just create a name list and replace or add it so that any new leaders you get are patrons.

Its possible the early neighbour was really weak because of an issue mentioned in the patch notes. The AI can crash its early economy by specializing its capital because its economy can support it. I think the Baol building really helps with this build and one of the guys who I saw who first mentioned this for the current patch was planning a 0 miner run. Also, you can't go archology if you have agrarian ideal.

What games you want to play for the next bit), Names on vid, Maybe a stream or two when the DLC's drop, Shorts on games that catch your eye, ext. Things you cant post on youtube because it will kill your channel. I wouldn't want a full super nice video but something small that lets us see what you are planning would be nice.

for the patreon you should offer community multiplayer sessions of stellaris where you all have your own empires, could be some good fun along with some good content if you end up making it into more than just a fun gaming session

Do this again and use monthly trades of food with other empires, even if all it gives is loyalty from them you can give them food in exchange for monthly alloys or loyalty from research vassals.

I used this same build and enjoyed it a fair bit, my one complaint was I didn't realize argrarian idyll prevented you from getting the 2nd tech to add housing to city districts, which means no habitat segments on oribital rings, sad times. Also no restoring relic worlds lol.

This same build is probably better with the "under one rule" origin. You start off with 2 planets to colonize and a ruler with the autark trait (a trait that can give you up to 30% more food production) Also, probably better to start with pure catalystic and anglers first, and add agrarian after statecraft finisher since the switch to food based production later means you can't rush ships first. You also forgot about capital planetary assignment. You can immediately go forge focused because you get consumer goods from pearl.divers anyways

Lath ma boy, I get it. I know the new update has messed a bunch of stuff up but my favourite game in stellaris is an Ocean Paradise with Anglers (my ma came from Grimsby, continuing her heratige n'all) so Im trying this sorta build out. Im gonna go genetics though, because with all the food you make it would seem weird not to, plus you can make your leaders live longer with something like the trait that consumes exotic gas but gives you 50 more years. With the nebula you start in, and catalytic processors, that aint a problem. My guys really do just be living in the golden age of the Grimsby fishing industry pre-cod wars 😂

Johnathan is just a simple fisher. Sometimes, a guy just wants to fish. Its not his fault that when he goes out to have a casual fish, he ends up catching seven megalodan sized fish that happen to also be delicious. Nor that, due to his boat only being able to carry five onboard, that he has to drag the other two behind him. Or that six more end up biting onto and hanging on to these two or each other. Sometimes you just want to fish. Its a simple thing for a simple fellow. Johnathan is a simple fellow. He doesn't care that the organic waste from his planet's industries have turbocharged the growth of the lowest common feedstock for wild fish, and has essentially turbocharged the growth rate and maturation of said fish as well. He doesn't care about the fact that his catch from every other day when he goes out to fish specifically feeds an entire alien star fortress. Johnathan is simple. There is nothing wrong with casting out a line to relax. And like Lathrix, sometimes Johnathan just wants to fish. It really helps break the monotony of his family's oath to keep a bunch of stone-masked vampires sealed away.

It's a bug, that they don't wanna fix apparently, because before 3.7 patch it worked as intended - influence cost was calculated in the moment of building, not in the moment of ordering.

Oh, I just finished the video. Agrarian Idyll doesnt allow you to take the Arcology project perk. I don't even think you can turn relic worlds into Ecumenopolis' because you cant get the Anti gravity engineering tech. There is a digsite that grants it as an option, so I suppose if you managed to roll that you could. But not under normal circumstances.

Maybe do what Ep3o does for his patrons. Add in patron names for ships, leaders, planets, system, and custom empires, depending on the tier. Perhaps even have it so high tier patrons can give you challenges to achieve in a playthrough. Like complete a run without making more than 100 alloys a month (I don't remember if that's a lot. played too much modded)
