They raided the bookmaker in October so it actually makes sense they were able to tie things together so fast once they got Ippei's and Ohtani's phones. The phone records, device IDs, IP addresses, and cookies forensically couldn't have been more clear.

@Tim. Also, the Feds went through 9700 texts from 2021 between Ippei and Ohtani, and no where does it mentioned anything about gambling. While Ippei had so many text to the bookie about gambling. There just no way, if Ohtani is involved (he wasn’t) there would be a txt message.

I appreciate these podcasts because I learn something new from each one. For example, when Dylan shared memories of his conversations with Ohtani's high school coach it added a layer of insight for me, especially given Dylan's ability to speak Japanese and his familiarity with the culture.

That account was a first account opened quickly with help of interpreter 2018 for salary purposes. But subsequently Ohtani got several other accounts by the Agents which would be monitored for disbursements and Ohtani’s was actively using these connected to his credit card. Etc After the opening of the first account, Ohtani never used the account since the and what ever was deposited there frequently was never withdrawn by Ohtani. Even if he checked the balance was growing since deposits were still more than the money Ippei gradually withdrew.

It’s suspicious that Mizuhara never brought up betting to Ohtani? lol Maybe the fact he was stealing MILLIONS from him in order to bet was a good reason not to casually bring up betting lol Let’s think this through a bit better guys And you could easily place 20 bets a day , all at one time, in literally less than 5 minutes. Do you think he was doing hours of research before placing each bet?😅 He was probably just blindly betting on every game that night

@Tim Just because you can’t believe it, it don’t mean it’s the fact. Stop gaslighting the “what if” and your opinion scenario as narrative. Ohtani is all about baseball - singular focus for a guy like Ohtani. Bottom line, Ohtani trusted too much a guy he’s know for 11 years and that dude was a gambling addict who stole from him. Period. End of Story Ohtani is the victim here. Stop victim blaming.

@Dylan - It’s funny you have revisionary memory because a week ago, you were kind of condemning Ohtani and stating all these questions of Ohtani’s character etc. basically guilty before innocence. Shame

You guys covered all I needed. Now I just wonder if Ohtani has the prenups signed. If not, he is way too naive. I am from Japan and lived in Bay Area so long and learned so many lessons due to my innocence, being young and naive. Hope he grows up from having this bitter experience.

Hope the money is not further trickle down to fund other illicit activities. Considering the recent inflation of elite player's salary, the industry is giving hundreds of millions of dollars to financially illiterate kids. The amount of money can easily fund sizable organized crime like traffickers, cartels, terrorists, etc. both domestically and internationally. - At that point, those players cannot excuse like I didn't know anything I am just playing baseball...
