I always hated the trope of “worker wants to shut it down but company rep says no because they’d be behind quota” firstly, the big wig would WANT to shut it down so they don’t blow up the rig and have to build millions of dollars worth of a new rig and be WAY behind, and two, the production manager would be more worried about falling behind most of the time. “We shut down the ones over pressure so we don’t fall TOO far behind” basically

Generally, a sudden slap on the surface of a large body of water, such as that caused by a meteor impact or landslide will cause large tsunamis anywhere they hit. An earthquake in the middle of the ocean doesn't cause a large one initially, but one that increases in size exponentially as it approaches shore. You know, every time i see a plot about a group of people drilling a hole into the ground and unleashing some ancient creature or starting the apocalypse, it just reminds me of that hilarious bit in that South Park episode where the Oil company unleashed Cthulu on the moon and the apology video that followed XD "As President of BP oil, I just want to say.... We're sorry~"

Just finished watching this. It's pretty cool. But I think they relied too heavily on the cliffhanger. They should have answered more questions and leave implied that something would happen to the coastline. It might not even get a second season and we'll be left with half a story. But it's still quite entertaining. It felt like a Doctor Who episode without the Doctor. New life form that seems hostile but actually tries to protect the world. Good potential

Lars always causing trouble for management, first as a Crow in Castle Black and now as a worker in an oil rig.

I been watching so many of these movie recaps videos and I always ask myself "This movie is great, why have I never heard of it???" And then it shows get to the ending to the movie and I'm like "Ahhh. That's why"

Other poster's criticism of the Tsunami at the end is misleading: I have seen much bigger waves on the deep ocean when on a US Navy ship trying to outrun a typhoon. So you can have waves that size on the ocean without needing the drag of shallow water to make the wave effect. What I saw were more aptly described as 30 ft. walls of water coming over the bow.

Seriously, anyone else sick of the "lets just let the bad guy go because REASONS" trope? There was not one good reason NOT to throw Coake off the edge of that platform and they KNEW letting him go would come back to bite them but they did it anyway!

The general idea of the show is good, the first 3-4 chapters were mostly good, but from the fifth onwards, Oh Boy!! Things change in a way that is not logical, it becomes repetitive, the characters personalities do things this way and in the next cut they act in another, some scenes felt out of sequence or scenes were missing to explain their actions and reactions, just not a smooth ride, by the last episode it felt like they just wanted to reach an ending, it doesn't matter which one or how they get there, I don't see how they can get out of this hole that they themselves made in a next season!

This plot is almost one to one to a creepy pasta story I listened to the other day.

Never seen oil rig workers so concerned about the climate. Even when their friends are dropping dead around them and they are cut off from the outside world.
