Here's a really quick way to take care of your oil pressure sending unit which is on the pack of the intake and does not require removal of the intake this process can be done in less than 20 minutes

Getting this style connector off of the switch can be a little tedious. Just lift out the little gray plug with a small flat head screw driver and then squeeze the black tab that was next to it and it comes off. Be careful not to drop it in the back of the engine. For my repair, I removed the vacuum line and the fuel line only . I lifted the fuel line and tucked it above the back engine cover. This provided much more room for my hand and the socket tools. Overall this video was a great timesaver. Thanks!

I just did this yesterday on a 2010 Yukon XL Denali 6.2L (pain in the ass). Zero room had to disconnect the quick connect on the fuel line and the vacuum I took a video with my phone so I could disconnect the wire another pain in the ass finally got it disconnected now for the fun part getting the socket on the sensor.. 2 hours later I got it out now the socket nightmare begins.. my suggestion is to hand tighten the sensor as much as you can then snug it up.. putting the wire back on is touchy feely but for some reason I got it on first shot..the whole thing took me about 4 hour's only because of the size of the motor and make no mistake if I took it to the shop they would have pulled the intake out to the tune of 620.00 so as a senior citizen I put my game face on and crawled into the engine compartment.. and I'm sore as hell today..but worth it

Saved me a lot of headache, it went smooth. I just used a deep socket instead of getting the specific socket and it went smooth. Thanks for the insight

The necessary socket is a deep-socket, six-point, 27mm available individually at Harbor Freight for about $8

@@liveforphun if see it with your phone maybe try a long enough pick tool or make a pimp stick out of a coat hanger to cat the plug lock , it should come right off once you lift on the lock.

This worked absolutely perfect! I have a 2013 Escalade ESV. The only thing I changed was I used two 3" extensions and a union. I put the extensions inside of the fuel line so that it isn't pinched when you use the socket wrench. Thanks for making this video it saved me a lot of time!!!

I have a 07 escalade, dealership told me the oil pressure sending sensor was reading high voltage and needed replacing....it's gonna cost around 500 something. My problem is, no lights on the dash are coming on and it seems /sounds like its running normal. I told the service advisor that I've never seen any warning lights on the dash and they said many times, dash lights don't come on.

Need some help please! Not a car guy but fairly good at following directions. As iremoved the evap? line (first item after beauty cover that you show removed in video) and moved it to side the it snapped off. About 18" from connection there is a connection to another section of line. The other line snapped off inside the connection. What is it and can I operate vehicle until replaced? Thanks for any help!

My 2007 low oil pressure light comes on when I’m at a stop light and goes off when I give it some gas. Is this a fault on the sending unit or the oil pump
@mattwillis16983 жыл бұрын
Check if it's low on oil, if it isn't I'd would suspect pump

Pull gray square up and then after push it in towards the sensor then pull up the whole connector. I hope you didn't wait 2 years to find out lol

Easier from the bottom? Have to use that socket or is there a cheaper route? $20 part $60 tool typical gm. HHaha
@victorseger60442 жыл бұрын
Bring it to a shop and you'll find out just how cheap that $20 part and $60 tool is.. as they start removing the intake changing the part in 10 minutes then spending the time putting it back on..new gaskets and replace the parts they broke doing it.. shop charge's anywhere from 400 to 650 to do it..

Thank you so much, I could not have done it without your video & another. It was not an easy job & very difficult to get to especially when taking the electrical connection off the sensor. I used this video for that kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b96JYKaIsNavf4U.html I found that Harbor Freights 1/2" 27mm deep wall socket for $4.99 was nice & snug, it worked perfectly. THANKS AGAIN.
