It touched me that Alex is so grateful that we are listening to these podcasts. I honestly watch most of the videos except the ones from series I want to watch so as not to get spoiled but I like the podcast bc not only do I practice my listening comprehension (spanish-speaker) but there are some interesting life stories and it also allows me to sort of self-reflect on my actions 😅. Listening to Kelsey is a bonus too ❤️

To the girl with the non committal boyfriend, dump him. It’s not worth it. He told you already, he doesn’t want you that way. If he did he would state it clearly. I spent five years pining for a guy who told me he liked me but then didn’t want a relationship. Turns out he was dating someone else. Thankfully I’ve gotten over that and now I know the signs. Take the sign, DUMP HIM. Good luck🤗

Yeah, I think a lot of us end up there at some point, whether it was for a short or long period of time. I had a guy act exactly like that but I moved on as soon as I heard he was screwing around with someone else. Wasted my time 😒
@tayotheavatar3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but sometimes you might be friends and have no intention of pursuing anything more, but time passes and feelings develop. In such cases it's probably best to speak up as soon as you can, just be honest with your feelings and even if you get rejected you'd feel better. In my case, we were friends for about two years, but when we started college, we began to spend more time together and I was head over heels before I knew it. I was very nervous and procrastinated a lot, but eventually I told her. like I was nervous and stuttering all over the place, but I managed to let her know and it went well. we went on our first date as not friends and we've been together for about a year and a half now. So short story long, be yourself, be honest, even it goes wrong it's better to know for sure, cause you never know if you never ask. aight imma head out

You know, I actually dissagreed with Alex’s point at first about just shooting your shot, but then I realized that probably one of the best relationships I ever had was when I asked a girl to a school dance that I had only had a few talks with, and we wound up dating for like a year and a half. Alex knows what he’s talking about.

Would it be possible for the questions that are getting answered to be in the discription? I like this podcast but I clicked on this one bc of the title and was interested. If the questions are somewhere i could check if i need the advice or not or just put the podcast on in the background to have something to listen to.

Ok so two things, which are pretty much just concerning the title lol. Yes. Yes, so many dudes need to hear this like ouff, stop complaining about the friendzone guys, if you are just friends with someone cuz you wanna bang them, then rethink your life please lol. But also, I think that from a friendship can evolve a beautiful relationship. Because you already know and trust that person, to some degree at least. Example being my wonderful bf and I. We have been loose friends before our relationship and it's going towards being together a year now:). I'm just annoyed by people feeling entitled to sex from someone and then complaining about the "friend zone"
@DoctorOaks3 жыл бұрын
Some people may become interested in someone after they become friends. What about them?
@blackwingsofdead44923 жыл бұрын
@@DoctorOaks I think that's definitely not a problem, since like I had that myself a few times too and I think that can happen pretty naturally. My main problem is that people (tbh mostly guys) feel *entitled* to a relationship when that happens. Or that they just become friends with someone in order to come closer to them for either a relationship or banging or both. And then get pissed and complain about the friend zone when they get rejected. I get it, rejection hurts but you are friends first and foremost and nobody "owes" you anything
@DoctorOaks3 жыл бұрын
@@blackwingsofdead4492 You're right. People don't owe you anything just because they were friends with you. I just don't think that "wanting to leave the friend zone" inherently means that they think they deserve something.

I've learned this the hard way, don't date a friend. I absolutely agree with the title, just stop trying to get out of it, simply because it will just make things alot more complicated. I mean, if you guys had been talking for a vast amount of time, then you tried dating each other and worst comes to worst that it doesn't work out. It will break the friendship that you created, and there's no comming back from it. It might just ruin things between the two of you

I hate the word friendzone because there’s no such thing as friendzone. It’s called just being friends! A woman doesn’t owe you a relationship.
@nukiesduke68683 жыл бұрын
On the same end there's chicks that will intentionally do crap just to make sure they always have a backup plan. My cousin did that to a guy, openly bragged about it. He liked her, she knew it, they stayed friends cause he helped her with stuff. The second he actually started dating a girl she dropped the "i like you bomb" in attempt to break them up. So I mean..

While I agree with what you're saying about not becoming friends with someone you're interested in, what about people who become interested in someone after they're already friends?
@SolRearte53 жыл бұрын
That happened to me. My ex and I started dating after four years of friendship. And I mean, he's my ex so that pretty much sums up our relationship. It's probably not going to end up good if that's your case. Sorry but I feel like you either get married and live happily ever after and die together while hugging in front of a fireplace, or everything explodes and the friendship is forever ruined. And the first one is very unlikely

Everyone is different, if I'd known a guy for a year and he never brought up the subject of dating. And then after a year of being friends he's like honest with me and said, so he was wondering if he was in the friend zone or not, if I consider thinking about not friends, running and testing out some dates, I would be comfortable with telling him what my evaluation is on the subject. I probably had my own thoughts either for against and set them aside so I would know. And then he would know if he's in the friend zone or if we just both sort of fell into it by accident by not thinking about it. If he's in the friend zone break it off if you can't be friends but do it respectfully, if he's comfortable with the friend zone and just wanted to know so he can move on romantically, that's just as good, but he has to be honest. I'd be sad losing your friends over that but I'd rather that than feel like I'm being creeped on after I've said no. Though I do agree saying something earlier is usually better as long as you don't approach and a creepy way.
@VicenteTorresAliasVits2 жыл бұрын
1) Even if the couple from the trailer avoid having sex, the mom will think that they're doing it and are simply being very quiet. I mean, she's not stupid, right? That thought must cross her mind from time to time. 2) The Indian girl mentioned different issues in her story, and that means different solutions. Yes, if you're happily single, you don't need to pursue a relationship, but if it comes to you unexpectedly, you should at least give it a thought. Don't avoid dates if your only reason is that you're afraid of getting your heart broken, because it's just a part of life we all have to go through at sometime. Same with confronting our parents about things we don't agree with them, especially if it involves major life decisions. Speaking of, if you don't want an arranged marriage, there's no reason to go through with it. It's not like you parents will point a gun at you, right? Tell them that you *will* get married eventually, just not under the circumstances they want. If they tell you that they never want to see you again or something like that, it will be a clear indication that the decisions they've made for you are for their benefit instead of yours. Why would you want people like that in your life?

Don't try to get out of the freindzone. If a woman you like puts you in the freindzone, just cut her off. If she's okay with abusing your emotions that way, you're better off just cutting her off until she realizes you don't want to be friends. If she never comes around, she never comes around, if she truly cares and comes back to you wanting to be freinds, you just inform her that's not an option, you want more. CUT IT OFF!

The girl in India you should look into asexuality especially the term lithromantic - when you enjoy romantic stuff and have crushes but don't essential want it for yourself. Even if you find a term/label that describes you know it can change over time if you find yourself in a romantic situation in the future. You can only label the past, but yeah look into it it will help you feel more stable in the now. :-)

Also the pandemic has caused a lot of parents and kids to move in together. You know so they don't like die from being vulnerable and some nursing home where they don't have a lot of affection. It depends on how active parent is normally but the pandemic has changed that. And historically our culture did used to take care of their parents we just sort of lost our culture over the last hundred years. Basically set up a schedule. Parents do it when they have kids all the time. The trailer does require people out of the house. Maybe the mom could go for a walk if she's well enough.

For the first one I think it's OK for them to have sex when the boyfriends mum is there. If they've been together for this long his mum can't expect them to not be having sex. They're both adults. I think the right course of action is to talk to the mum about it. A similar situation happened to me and my boyfriend, his parents were a bit abusive and they didn't really have a close family dynamic. So my parents said he could live us until we moved out. This was a four years ago and we have since moved out but he ended up living with my family for two years. My mum said that she doesn't expect us to abstain from sex on their behalf and her only request was to keep the noise down and wait until my younger siblings were in bed or out of the house.
