More like pro mod , tube chassis , no radiator, fiberglass bodies on most of them. Where i come from street car has to drive 20 miles to race sight to race have a vin number and have steel roof & 1/4 's .
@jasonhook38844 жыл бұрын
I can promise you all of those cars were steel roof and quarters with a VIN tag. It's literally a requirement for the class they were racing in.

I knew that was going to happen to the GTO sooner or later lol great video 👍
9:45 surprisingly no one talked about how the car on the left lane took off before the green light, i dont know how that was not a jump. (slow the vid to 0.25)

Pro street my ass! And they want us poor people to stop street racing and come to the track........ Almost none of these cars could go around the block. Catch me and my Lil small block in the streets.....

As a brit I have no clue what yalls pro street entails, seems very different to what we have over here. Anyone care to explain?

Your right, not true Pro Street. No tags or registration. Anymore any door car with a big tire they call Pro Street. True street car drag racing here was ruined long ago with stretching of rules, etc.
@CraigBrosRacing6 жыл бұрын
Scrub pro street here used to be cars that looked like drag cars but we're more like show cars that would occasionally hit the strip usually just enough to say that they weren't all show and no go but more often than not they just cruised the shows doing burn outs some of these cars used to be that but the old guys that owned them are starting to sell them now and with a few updates and shedding all he useless show interiors and chrome they are finally reaching there true potential.check out some of the channels dedicated to this strange trend of pro street car cruises and shows and you will see the difference between these true streetable race cars and those show cars made to look like race cars.

Scrub ( Y'all). Just very far behind the curve.. Take it from a southern man. Idk how to even incorporate that word into my vocabulary...

Pro street isn't pro street like it use to be , 98%of these cars couldn't drive 20 miles without breaking or over heating but none the less these cars are badass and the content was good as it always is from uhb videos

Dude, even though a blower sends seriously fridged air into the top of the engine, the bottom end and tranny have no cooling by design...Cooling saps HP/space for engine. Turbo, Procharger and Nitrous are little different except you might see some intercoolers here and there. Slicks are illegal EVERYWHERE for obvious reasons(throwing stones, obvious sign of a car that doesn't adhere to even one emission or safety standard like bumpers etc etc) I guess what I'm saying is that they're not designed to drive 20miles. The ones that are for the tours, they generally shut parts of the engine down like rerouting turbos/shutting blowers right off etc for the road driving part.

Chris Harris , I get what your saying , it's just back in the day it was totally different and to see how far race cars have changed since then is astonishing , now a day's I'm more into the true street kind of shit , theirs guys out their that can drive their cars anywhere and still run super fast times then drive home if they wanted to , and when I say super fast I mean like under 5's or mid 4's in the 1/8th which is more than respectable , I love the experience of being able to drive my car to the track on dot drag radials beat the shit out of it and drive it home , trailers are a convenience for sure but for me it's all about the journey on the way ,

Oh ya but its the age of technology now. Everyone has to squeak a couple hundredths out of their car by dropping anything that might let you actually drive it. The cops are also monitoring for racecars WAY more than they used to so if you're not on 9.5 or 10.5's, they'll pull you over. I remember when they'd just wink at you if you had a pair of slicks on. Just look at all the cars doing mid 4's now and you'll see that every mom and pop has had to purpose build their car for just the track to be competitive. I remember when mid 4's were a dream except for the guy with hundreds of thousands of dollars. I also remember when Eddie Hill broke seconds in the 1/4 with his top fuel dragster on a true quarter mile. They said any faster might kill the driver. Saw Kilita's crash...god it was awful.

Just like pay phones, knobs to change the channel on TV and pretty much everything else, nothing is like it used to be. Just because a promoter uses the name it doesnt mean it has anything to do with a rule set that some associate from the old NMCA/NSCA org days or even Orlando World Street Finals. With how much drag racing has evolved in the last 10 years with the internet and its huge viewership, with online feeds to the masses and other factors its made payouts grow 10 fold. I think Orlando was i believe 5k for each of the 4 categories 10 years ago and after a few races getting rained on etc it was the driving force where Duck started his races and offered very large payouts. From there promoters are now more making classes and their rules to fit a wider group of cars to fit in to possibly draw larger car counts and not vice versa.
