Restoration of a Old dangerous fighting pocket knife. It was in very bad condition and unusable. We made a plan and thought about how to restore it and make it usable again.
The outcome is unbelievable. We renew it and made it useable again. It took us two days to finish the video and as we want to make all of our videos only for 15 minutes, we edited the video professionally to reduce it to 15 minutes.

Its an French pocket knife for shepherds. The bee at the back was given to factorys by napoleon, to honour them. The bee was a symbol that he used because he wasn’t a born emperor so he couldn’t give someone the Titel of a lord. Some of these knifes have also a little cross on it wich is upside down. The purpose of that was, if you stick the knife with the blade in the ground you’ll have a little alter to pray in the fields.

Beautiful work!! I have a similar knife… 440 could be the steel. On my knife the bee allows the knife to fold. Great job! The Old Army Scout…

Laguiole is a traditional French knife maker... Probably, number 440 refers to the knife model or something related, such as the materials employed in its making.

It's French, but instead of used for cutting blankets into surrender-flags, it's for 'fighting' and opening wine bottles..

Laguiole is an old french knife manufactorer, who makes knifes in best quality from hand. 440 is the number of very good stainless steel. 😊😊

Laguiole knives are beautiful creations - unfortunately, even in La Belle France, many knock-offs are sold - mostly made in India. The differential in price is an easy indicator. Was nice to watch this ‘restoration’ but hard not to wonder how bad the knife was prior to the work: would be interested to know how it got covered in mud…

This doesn't look like a old knife. It appears that some dirt has been smeared on it to give a dramatic look to the video.

Да это практически новый нож, его специально месяц в песке валяли. Ржавчины минимум, в жизни так не бывает если он лет 10 в земле пролежит. Но за видео спасибо, приятно посмотреть.

Las inscripciones indican que es una navaja hecha con acero 440, en la localidad de Laguiole, pequeña ciudad del país de Oc, en Francia, famosa por sus navajas, su diseño deriva de las navajas andaluzasdel Siglo de Oro español. Y no es una antigüedad, el acero 440 es un acero martensítico cuyo uso para cuchillería se popularizó en la segunda mitad del siglo XX.

Всем добра!От того что китайский нож полежал в месяц в грязи он стал старым?и от того что в нем есть штопор он стал опасным?а если открыть,одновременно клинок и штопор он становится боевым? с кем или чем?с "зеленым змием" или "белочкой"?

Nice result. A suggestion for you and other knife restorers: if there's a corkscrew, just throw it out. No one uses those things and they spoil the feel and look of folding knives. I think every manufacturer who adds those to knives is just reflexively copying the Swiss Army Knife.

Лично я, на швейцарском ноже пользуюсь в основном штопором и открывалкой. Клинком от силы 20 раз за 15 лет.

Just because you don’t use one doesn’t mean everybody doesn’t. Restoration isn’t about destroying the original it’s about restoring what’s there.

Dangerous fighting knife???? C' est juste un laguiole très rèpandu en France . Un couteau de paysan. 440 dèsigne la qualitè de l 'acier , donc ce modèle est récent moins de25 ans. De plus ce modèle lègendaire a èté copiè à l' infini . Celui ci semble être une copie comme l'atteste le marquage sur la lame . Les modèles véritables portent sur la lame le nom de l'atelier ou de l' artisan et pas suleument "Laguiole ou véritable Laguiole ".
