Ok until you put that horrible piece of wood onto it.

Yeah that's just not true.. it's more likely you found a slightly worn knife and poured salt on it and buried it for a week just to pull it out and restore it.. A 105 years underground does do much more to metal than what we see here.

Why Use Colored "Oil" Instead Of Clear Kerosene Or Paraffin? You Ruined The Beautiful Aesthetic Of The Blue Glass! LOUSY Job Of NOT Trimming The Wick; It Smoked So Badly The Glass Chimney Was Immediately Covered In Soot! Clearly You Covered The Font In Mud!!! Very Sad And Disappointed In This Video!

Just burying antique items and cleaning them up isn't "true" restoration.....just a way to piggy-back on other restoration professionals, IMHO.

That was not a great paint job. No primer, no sanding after primer. No 2 coats. Still there were places without paint Also the scale face still had dents and it was not very polished If you are doing this a try or as a hobby, it is ok. But there is place for improvement

Well I think the "skinny" pieces would look really original for the board. But re-make them from wood would be dificult to achieve (I think). But the new ones look really cool. That carpenter has skills 🙂 PD: sorry for my bad grammar 😅
